Bears' Ben Johnson among 5 finalists for NFL Coach of the Year

Ben Johnson, the Chicago Bears' first-year head coach, has been named one of five finalists for the NFL Coach of the Year award. Johnson led the Bears to an 11-6 record and the NFC North title, their first playoff victory in 15 years.

The other finalists are Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald, Jaguars coach Liam Coen, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan. Vrabel guided his team to a 14-3 regular-season record, while Macdonald's Seahawks went 14-3 as well.

Johnson's Bears finished the season strong, winning their first playoff game in 15 years before losing to the Rams in the divisional round. The Bears' turnaround is notable given they hadn't had a winning season since 2018.

Vrabel and Macdonald are both set to face each other in potential Super Bowl matchups. Vrabel's Patriots will host the Broncos, while Macdonald's Seahawks will host the Rams.

omg can u believe ben johnson made it to the nfl coach of the year finals?? 🀯 i'm so hyped for him! i mean, 11-6 and an nfc north title is no joke, especially after all those years without a winning season... that's like going from zero to hero, you know? 😎 he did such a great job turning around the bears squad. and now we get to see mike vrabel and mike macdonald go head-to-head in the super bowl πŸˆπŸ‘Š that's gonna be epic!

omg u gotta think about jones' format 🀯 he went from a complete mess to an 11-6 winner like what even is that!!! his layout was all over the place at first but then he stabilized it and brought consistency to the team i'm lowkey salty the other finalists are so obvious vbrb and macd are gonna get destroyed by their own hype πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ jags and 49ers were just okay this year

I think Ben Johnson is totally overrated πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ I mean, 11-6 record is nothing compared to those other guys, right? Mike Vrabel and Mike Macdonald have been doing it for years, leading their teams to way more wins than the Bears. And don't even get me started on Liam Coen's Jaguars, they're like a totally different team every year πŸ€ͺ Kyle Shanahan is also a top coach, he knows what he's doing. The fact that Johnson made it to the finalist list is just lucky, if you ask me 😏.

πŸ€” So I'm thinking Ben Johnson's done a pretty sweet job with the Bears this season 🏈, especially considering how bad they were just a few years ago πŸ˜…. 11-6 is nothing to sneeze at and that playoff win in 15 years is huge πŸ’₯. I mean, it shows he's got some real talent on his roster and can get them to step up their game when it counts.

But what really gets me is the turnaround πŸ”„ - from a losing team to nearly making the playoffs in just three years is no easy feat ⏱️. And the fact that Vrabel and Macdonald are both in this running for Coach of the Year is kinda cool 😎, 'cause it shows there's some serious competition out there right now.

Of course, you've got to wonder what would have happened if they'd just made a few more plays in those playoff games πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ... but I'm not gonna get too hung up on that πŸ˜…. What do you guys think - is Ben Johnson the real deal, or were there some other factors at play this season? πŸ€”

man, can you believe it? Ben Johnson is a shoo-in for coach of the year lol 🀣 but seriously, that's insane. 11-6 record and NFC North title is no joke. he's like a magician or something. i mean, how did they go from all those years of losing to actually making the playoffs let alone winning their division? it's just crazy. and now vrbel and macdonald are gonna face off in the super bowl... that's gonna be lit πŸ”₯ i'm still not convinced though, we gotta see how far they can take it. maybe ben johnson is the real deal, but we'll see about that.

the NFL Coach of the Year award is kinda funny, right? like, it's a great honor for these coaches, but what about all the other unsung heroes on those teams? I mean, have you seen the amount of work that goes into preparing players for the playoffs? It's not just the coach's job. and also, 11-6 is a good season, but only if you compare it to where they were like 2 years ago. so, ben johnson gets the nod, but let's give it up for all the coaches in the bottom of the pack too πŸ€”πŸˆ

🀩 I'm so hyped for Ben Johnson! The guy took a struggling team and turned them around into a playoff contender! 11-6 is no joke, especially when you consider how long they'd gone without winning a game in the playoffs πŸ™Œ. And to finish strong with that first playoff win in 15 years? Mind blown! πŸ’₯ I'm all about underdog stories and this one's got me feeling like anything's possible 😊. It'll be super interesting to see if he can keep it up next season, but for now, let's just bask in the hope and positivity of an NFL team finally finding their groove πŸ’ͺ.

I'm so hyped about this Coach of the Year award! Ben Johnson is a total game changer for the Bears 🀯! I mean, 11-6 and NFC North title? That's huge! And to win their first playoff game in 15 years... wow! The turnaround from 2018 is insane 😲. I'm loving how these young coaches are bringing it to the league. Mike Vrabel and Mike Macdonald are going to have a epic Super Bowl matchup, that's gonna be lit πŸ”₯!

I'm like totally stoked for Ben Johnson! He's got this Coach of the Year thing going on, and I gotta say, it's awesome to see the Bears winning after all those years 🀩. 11-6 record ain't bad, but I mean, who doesn't love a good comeback story? They went from nowhere to NFC North champs, that's like, a whole lotta progress, you know? πŸ’ͺ And beating the Rams in the playoffs? That's straight fire πŸ”₯. Now, I'm not sure about Mike Vrabel and Mike Macdonald, both of those guys are pretty solid coaches, but I think Johnson might just have the edge. Fingers crossed for him! 🀞

🀩 Can you believe it? Ben Johnson is a total rockstar! I mean, 11-6 and an NFC North title after 15 years of no playoffs? That's like Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams - he brings life to a team that was sleeping 🌱. And to make matters more interesting, Vrabel & Macdonald are set to face off in the Super Bowl! Who does it mean for Johnson though? Does this Coach of the Year nod even affect his Bears' chances at beating their division rivals? One thing's for sure - Ben's team is on fire πŸ”₯.

man this coach of the year award is gonna be so intense 🀯 i mean ben johnson led that bears team from nothing to NFC north champs it's a major comeback considering they hadn't had a winning season since 2018... but at the same time, mike vrabel and mike macdonald have been killing it with their teams too. like, vrabel's pats went 14-3 and macdonald's seahawks did the same so it's really hard to say who's gonna take this award πŸ€” either way tho, i'm hyped for the playoffs... that super bowl matchup between vrabel and macdonald's teams is gonna be epic πŸ’₯

OMG I'm so stoked for Ben Johnson!!! πŸ’₯πŸŽ‰ He's done an amazing job with the Bears and it's such a huge deal that he's one of the finalists for Coach of the Year πŸ™Œ! 11-6 record is crazy considering they hadn't had a winning season since 2018 🀯. I mean, those playoffs were epic too, especially their first win in 15 years πŸ’ͺ. Can't wait to see how these matchups play out in the Super Bowl... Vrabel and Macdonald are gonna bring it on 🏈πŸ”₯!

I'm loving this Bears team, they've come so far under Ben Johnson 🀩! I mean, 11-6 and NFC North title is a big deal, especially after all those years without a playoff win πŸ†. And let's be real, Johnson led them to that first playoff victory in 15 years - talk about momentum πŸ’ͺ!

Now, it's interesting that Mike Vrabel from the Patriots and Mike Macdonald from the Seahawks are both in the running for Coach of the Year too... and they're set to face off in potential Super Bowls 🏈! Vrabel's got a solid record with 14-3 regular season, but so does Macdonald. Hard to say who'll come out on top just yet πŸ€”. Still, I've gotta give it up for Ben Johnson and the Bears - they're making some noise in the league πŸ‘Š!

πŸ€• Can you believe it? Coach Johnson's Bears had a decent year but 11-6 is not that impressive considering how bad they were last season... and now there's this: Vrabel vs Macdonald in the Super Bowl 🏈😬 I mean, both are gonna be super tough to beat. The Patriots are looking strong and the Seahawks have been on fire πŸ”₯πŸ’¨ Still can't shake off the feeling that something bad is gonna happen... maybe they'll get hurt before the big game? πŸ€•
