Bipartisan SCAM Act would require online platforms to crack down on fraudulent ads

I'm so done with these big platforms making money off scammers . They're literally profiting from people's suffering . It's disgusting that they'd rather risk losing some revenue than protect their users . The fact that they're allowed to keep running ads on the platform for like 8+ flags before being removed is just insane . I mean, who needs to lose $16 billion due to scams? Not me, that's for sure!

I think this SCAM Act is a step in the right direction . It's time these companies put their money where their mouth is and started prioritizing user safety over profits . The fact that Senators are pushing back against this nonsense is music to my ears . We need more people like them who care about protecting consumers from scammers.

It's not just about the billions of dollars lost, it's about the seniors who are getting taken advantage of . They're already vulnerable enough without these scammers preying on them online . It's time for some accountability and some real change .

I think its super frustrating when big companies like Meta make money off scam ads They're basically profiting from people's misfortunes. Its crazy that some scammers can get away with posting dodgy ads for months before getting caught, while others get kicked off immediately .

The proposed SCAM Act makes total sense - if a company is making ad revenue, they should be taking steps to prevent those scams . It's not like it's too much to ask for some basic consumer protection. The FTC and state attorneys general need to hold these companies accountable .

I'm not surprised, but also kinda shocked that it took someone to come along and say "hey, maybe we should be doing something about these scam ads" . Like, Meta's been basically allowing scammers to run wild on their platform while making bank off of it? That's just peachy . It's all about the Benjamins, right? Who cares if people get taken for millions? It's not like they're actually doing any harm or anything .
