Blackhawks' Teuvo Teravainen anticipates 'very high-level' hockey at Olympics

Hawks' Teuvo Teravainen Anticipates 'Very High-Level' Hockey at Olympics

The Chicago Blackhawks are embracing their absence of Olympians as a potential competitive advantage, while Teuvo Teravainen is set to be one of the few representatives from the team. The lone Finnish player on the roster believes that his teammates' extended break will allow them to return refreshed and ready for action.

"Almost every Hawk should feel at least close to 100% physically and mentally when we resume practices," Teravainen said, noting that most opposing stars are battling tooth-and-nail for a gold medal in Milan. "It's going to be a very high-level game [with] a lot of speed... We have a really good team, so we're trying to win the whole tournament."

Teravainen will not join his Finnish teammates until they arrive in New York after the Olympics. However, he expects to face stiff competition when Finland takes on Slovakia, Sweden, and Italy in preliminary-round games.

Meanwhile, Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno is weighing his options as a pending free agent with the NHL's March 6 deadline looming. Despite having some concerns about the team's direction, Foligno expressed his desire to see the Hawks through to the playoffs.

"I kind of want to know that we're going to stick with it and go for [the playoffs]," Foligno said. "That's my thought process now." The team has struggled lately, including a recent 4-0 loss against their division rivals.

The Blackhawks' Olympic absence may prove beneficial as they look to regain momentum in the NHL schedule.

awww ๐Ÿ˜Š teravainen is so calm & focused about his teammates being out for olympics its actually kinda nice to see him like that... hope he gets to have a great time with finland in new york ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ and brings back some awesome vibes for the blackhawks when they come back ๐Ÿ’ช

I'm kinda loving this underdog vibe the Hawks are going for ๐Ÿ˜Ž. It's like, yeah, most of their teammates aren't playing in the Olympics, so that's actually a plus for them. No more fatigue and all that jazz. Plus, when they do get back, it'll be like a fresh start or something. Teravainen seems pretty confident about it too - I mean, he's got no reason to think they won't make it to the playoffs. And Foligno's gotta be thinking about his own future too, so if they can just get into a winning rhythm, that'd be awesome ๐Ÿคž.

I'm telling you something's off about this Olympics thingy... like, what's really going on behind the scenes? ๐Ÿค” Those Finnish hockey players are gonna be so tired by the time Teuvo gets there, I bet it's all just a ruse to get them to take a break from their "high-level" games. Meanwhile, Finns are gonna crush those preliminary round opponents and then what? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

And Nick Foligno is considering staying with the Hawks... but why would he do that if they're not even making playoffs? Is it just to keep his job title or something? I don't trust these NHL "leaders" one bit. Something fishy's going on, mark my words! ๐ŸŽฏ

Ugh I'm so done with the Olympics already ๐Ÿคฏ! Like what's the point of even having a break from hockey? It's not like we need an excuse to be sluggish on the ice anyway ๐Ÿ˜ด. And don't even get me started on Teuvo Teravainen saying most opposing stars are battling for a gold medal... yeah right, that's just code for 'we're going to get destroyed' ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, can't we just focus on winning one game at a time? ๐Ÿ˜ก.

And what's with Nick Foligno being all uncertain about his future? Dude's been the captain of this team for ages, I trust him to know what's best for the Hawks ๐Ÿ‘Š. It's not like he's trying to make it out of here by any means necessary... or is he? ๐Ÿค”. Anyway, I'm just gonna sit back and watch how our team handles themselves in this tournament. If we can stay healthy and cohesive, we might have a shot at making some noise ๐Ÿ’ช.

this is so fishy ๐ŸŸ... why are they leaving their best players for the Olympics and coming back just in time to compete? it's like a recruitment strategy, you know? they're trying to lull everyone into a false sense of security before the playoffs. and teravainen is being too optimistic about the team's chances... have you seen the Blackhawks' recent losses? 4-0 to their division rivals? that's not "high-level" hockey, that's just a meltdown ๐Ÿ˜ณ...

I'm so over how this forum is always slow on Olympics threads ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ฉ It's like no one else cares about the Blackhawks' situation besides me... anyway, back to Teuvo Teravainen ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, can you blame him for being optimistic? The rest of his team hasn't played in ages, so they should be raring to go! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ It's just frustrating that we have to wait a whole day for updates on the Blackhawks' performance... UGH, FORUM SPEED IS SLOW TODAY ๐Ÿ˜ค

Omg I think this is gonna be a great Olympics for the Finnish team ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ! With Teuvo back on the ice, he's got some big games ahead of him ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The Blackhawks are like, super lucky to have him as their only rep ๐Ÿ™Œ, and it's gonna be awesome to see them take on Slovakia, Sweden, and Italy in preliminary round ๐Ÿ’ช.

I'm low-key worried about the Hawks' direction tho ๐Ÿค”... with Foligno being a free agent soon, I hope they figure out what's going on and make some changes ๐Ÿ”. They lost that 4-0 game to their division rivals, and it was super disappointing ๐Ÿ˜•.

omg i feel like the blackhawks are getting a total pass just cuz most of their key players r takin olympics ๐Ÿ™„ but seriously tho, teuvo teravainen is spot on about his teammates bing refreshed and ready for playoffs... they've been lookin at it all wrong if they think playin olympic hockey will hurt their game lol anyway, cant wait to see what happens when finland takes on other euro teams in prelims ๐Ÿ˜

Man I cant believe how long it takes for these pros to get back into shape ๐Ÿ˜‚... like almost every single one of them is gonna be near 100% by the time they play again? That's wild. And with all those top players out at the Olympics, I'm actually kinda worried that the Hawks will be able to dominate when they come back. They've been struggling lately and a short break might not give 'em enough of an edge.

But on the bright side, if Nicky F is thinking about coming back, it's probably because he thinks the team has a shot at making the playoffs ๐Ÿคž... and that would be awesome for the fans. And who knows, maybe having Teuvo over here can help pick up some speed for 'em too ๐Ÿ’จ?

omg I cant believe its been like 20 yrs since Finland even had a shot at that hockey gold ๐Ÿ’๏ธ๐Ÿ˜… teuvo teravainen is gonna be SO speedy on the ice haha! i remember watching those finnish guys crush it at the olympics in '96... my pops was so stoked he finally got to see them win something ๐Ÿ˜Š nick foligno's like "do i stick with this team or just go chase that dough?" ๐Ÿค‘ its funny how hockey players gotta think about their bank account too ๐Ÿคฃ

Teamwork makes the dream work ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ช but it's defo not easy w/ all this Olympic prep ๐Ÿ’๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Tuevo's got his sights set on a gold medal ๐Ÿฅ‡ and I'm sure he'll bring that Fin heat ๐Ÿ”ฅ to the ice ๐Ÿ’ฅ The rest of the team better be ready 2 bounce back from their break โฐ or else they'll get left behind ๐Ÿ‘€ gotta give it up 4 Nick Foligno tho, he's sticking w/ what he knows ๐Ÿค” and his loyalty is gonna count for a lot ๐Ÿ’•

OMG, I'm so curious about Teuvo Teravainen's chances at the Olympics ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’๏ธ! He seems super confident that his team will be able to pull off a win and even take home the gold medal ๐Ÿ…! But what if they lose? How will it affect their performance in the NHL schedule? I think it's cool that he's trying to stay positive despite the pressure, but at the same time, I'm also worried about his team's struggles lately ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Nick Foligno's thoughts on leaving the team are interesting too... will he really want to stick around and see them through to the playoffs? ๐Ÿค”

I don't know if I'm excited about the Hawks' chances at the Olympics ๐Ÿค”... Teuvo Teravainen thinks his teammates are gonna be super refreshed and ready to roll, but have we seen them actually play well together recently? ๐Ÿ˜ They just lost 4-0 to their own division rivals, that's not exactly a good sign. And what about Nick Foligno, is he really gonna re-sign with the team or is he outta here? The NHL's March deadline is looming and I'm not sure if they're ready for playoffs mode. It feels like they need to sort out some stuff before they can start competing at that high level. โš”๏ธ

๐ŸŒฑ I think it's cool that Teuvo is looking at this Olympics thing like a super competitive hockey match ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Like, he's expecting high speed and everything ๐Ÿ’๏ธ. But what if he gets burned out from all that stress? ๐Ÿคฏ As someone who's into mindfulness and wellness, I worry about the mental health aspect of competing in such a big tournament ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ.

And can we talk about Nick Foligno for a sec? ๐Ÿ˜ His thoughts on wanting to see it through to playoffs make sense, but what if he stays with this team that hasn't been doing well lately? ๐Ÿค” Maybe it's time for some change? ๐ŸŒˆ

omg u guys i'm so hyped for teuvo teravainen to rep finland at the olympics ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ’ช he's right tho, most opposing stars r like 90% ready to go but our boys got an extended break so we'll b fresh and ready to rock ๐Ÿ’ฅ i mean, it's def gonna be a high-level game with all that speed and skill ๐Ÿ’๏ธ but i think we got the team for it, u know? let's see how foligno decides on his future tho, pending free agent or not ๐Ÿค”

I'm kinda loving this underdog story ๐Ÿคฉ! The Hawks are all like "we don't need no Olympians" and now they're reaping the benefits of everyone else being exhausted ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ’ช Teravainen's right, most stars are burning out over there trying to win a gold medal. Meanwhile, our guy gets to chill for a bit and come back refreshed ๐Ÿต๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™‚๏ธ Can't wait to see how this all plays out!

I'm loving this underdog vibe for the Hawks! ๐Ÿคฉ It's like, I get it, most of these players are gonna be super jacked up and ready to go after a long break, but like, what if that's exactly what they need? A fresh start, you know? And Teravainen is so right about the Olympics being, like, THE ultimate test of endurance. Those opposing stars are gonna be toast by the time Finland takes on Slovakia and Sweden! ๐Ÿ’ช

And can we talk about how refreshing it is to see Foligno still got heart? Even if he's gotta weigh his options, at least he's thinking about what's best for the team, you know? It's like, let's be real, the Hawks haven't been on top of their game lately, but maybe this little break is just what they need to get back on track! ๐ŸŒŸ

I think this is sick ๐Ÿคฉ! Finland's hockey team is looking fierce and Teuvo Teravainen is gonna bring that fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ for his country. I'm hyped to see them take on Slovakia, Sweden, and Italy in preliminary-round games. The Chicago Blackhawks' Olympic break might just be the boost they needed to get back on track ๐Ÿ’ช. Nick Foligno's decision is tough, but I guess it's always better to know where you stand before making a move ๐Ÿค”. Either way, hockey fans are gonna have an amazing Olympics with all these top-notch teams competing for gold โšก๏ธ!

OMG, I'm so hyped for Teuvo Teravainen to represent Finland at the Olympics ๐Ÿ’๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ! He's gonna bring that Finnish flair and skills to the table ๐Ÿ’ช. I think it's genius that the Blackhawks are embracing their lack of Olympians as a competitive advantage - it just shows how strong they're feeling about themselves ๐Ÿ’ฏ. And can we talk about Nick Foligno being a pending free agent? ๐Ÿค” He's gotta make his priorities clear, but I'm all for him wanting to see the Hawks through to the playoffs ๐Ÿ†! The Blackhawks need some momentum in their NHL schedule ASAP โฑ๏ธ. Maybe this Olympic break is just what they need to recharge and come back stronger ๐Ÿ’ฅ #HawksNation #OlympicBound #TeravainenToTheRescue
