Bose open-sources its SoundTouch home theater smart speakers ahead of end-of-life

Umm I don't know... 🤔 I mean, technically it's a good thing that Bose is making the source code available, but at the same time, isn't this just creating a whole new problem for users? Like, now they'll have to deal with all these new developers coming out and messing with their speakers, who knows what kinda stuff they're gonna put in there... 🤖

And yeah, I guess it's better than them just stopping support altogether, but still, isn't this just a way of delaying the inevitable? Like, when are we really going to get rid of these planned obsolescence thingies for good? 🚮

But on the other hand, I suppose it is kinda cool that users can now make their own tweaks and stuff, maybe even extend the life of their speakers... 💻 But then again, what if they mess it up? 🤦‍♂️ And what's to stop other companies from just copying this model and making a bunch of other devices obsolete too? 🤯
