A 16-year-old boy was caught in a hail of gunfire when three men in a black sedan pulled up to him on the sidewalk in West Garfield Park Tuesday night. The shooting occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the 4300 block of West Maypole Avenue, leaving the teenager with two gunshot wounds to his feet.
Despite the severity of his injuries, the boy was taken to Stroger Hospital where he is currently listed as being in good condition. Authorities are still searching for a black sedan that allegedly pulled up to the victim and the suspects who opened fire on him.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and Area 4 detectives are leading the investigation into the shooting.
