A 16-year-old boy was caught in a hail of gunfire when three men in a black sedan pulled up to him on the sidewalk in West Garfield Park Tuesday night. The shooting occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the 4300 block of West Maypole Avenue, leaving the teenager with two gunshot wounds to his feet.
Despite the severity of his injuries, the boy was taken to Stroger Hospital where he is currently listed as being in good condition. Authorities are still searching for a black sedan that allegedly pulled up to the victim and the suspects who opened fire on him.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and Area 4 detectives are leading the investigation into the shooting.

This is absolutely heartbreaking! I mean, just think about it, a kid, not even out of high school yet, caught in the middle of some senseless violence. It's crazy to me how fast life can take a turn like that. And on top of everything else, he had to deal with these people pulling up out of nowhere and opening fire... what was their problem? 
just saw this news and can't help but think about how senseless it is to leave a kid like that lying on the ground for whoever wants to pick up their gun and shoot them 
. 16 years old, just walking home from school, no reason at all for someone to do such a thing. and now they're still searching for the car... can't we do better than this? 
It's like something out of a movie, but it's real life for that poor kid. And thank goodness he's going to be okay - two gunshot wounds are no joke, but apparently he's stable enough to be in good condition right now.
And it's so frustrating for the kid who got shot, his family, and everyone else in the community. Can't we all just get along and live without this kind of violence?
can't believe he's lucky to be alive right now... hospitals are supposed to be safe places, not war zones. hopefully they catch these guys soon so this doesn't happen again 
but at the same time, what's being done to prevent these kinds of incidents in the first place? need some serious community effort to come together and find solutions 
It's like, we should be able to live our lives without fear of being shot just walking home from school or hanging out with friends. This kid was lucky to make it out alive, only with two gunshot wounds! 
What would've happened if the medics weren't there so fast? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they catch these guys and bring them to justice soon 
i mean two gunshot wounds to his feet is crazy like how did those people even think they could just pull up and start spraying bullets?

back in my day, we didn't have that much violence on tv or in movies, so i'm worried about how this is affecting a new gen of teens...anyway, glad the kid made it out okay though 
and to whoever did this, if u see ppl getting shot, just chill at home and watch some peacekeeper cartoons like i used to 
. And now there's this kid who could've been killed for no reason at all... it's just not right
