Brazil's Bolsonaro finds novel way to reduce 27-year sentence: reading books

πŸ€” lol what's next? a library card for every prisoner so they can just chill and read their way outta jail? πŸ“–β€β™‚οΈ this is wild. I mean, i guess it's better than nothing, right? 27 years in prison and he gets to reduce his sentence by like 4 days per book. that's not gonna save him from all the other stuff he did tho... πŸ˜’

I'm low-key impressed by this 🀯. I mean, who knew that reading books could be a thing to reduce a 27-year prison sentence? It's not like he's gonna get a free pass or anything πŸ˜‚. But seriously, it's kinda cool that he's getting the chance to read some books after all these years. Though, gotta wonder if he'll actually finish 'em πŸ“š. The approved reading list is pretty interesting too, especially with titles about Indigenous rights and racism. Hopefully, it'll give him a bit of an education πŸ€“. And, tbh, his lawyers might've just found a way to make the most of his lack of interest in reading πŸ˜‚.

I can imagine how tough it must be for him right now πŸ€•... 27 years is a long time, and I'm not sure he'll ever see the light of day again πŸ˜”... but hey, reading could be therapeutic or something? πŸ“š maybe it's a way for him to process everything that happened during his presidency? πŸ€”... and who knows, maybe he'll discover some new love for literature πŸ’‘... but I wouldn't count on it πŸ˜‚...

πŸ€” I mean, can you imagine being stuck in prison and having to read all those books? Like, 950 pages of "Um Defeito de Cor"?! 😩 But at the same time, it's like, if he really wants to reduce his sentence, maybe reading these books will actually make him think about some stuff. I don't know, man... I just hope it's not a way for him to pretend like he's all about change when he's still got some major issues to work out πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And can you imagine the reviews on Goodreads? "Democracy!" by Philip Bunting - 4/5 stars πŸ˜‚. Anyway, I guess it's just another crazy thing that's happening in Brazil right now πŸ’₯.
