Breathwork has its uses – but when it comes to 'unlocking your fullest human potential', beware the puffery | Antiviral

OMG, can you believe these breathwork courses are making $$$ off people's desperation for better mental health 🤑? It's like, I get it, breathing exercises can be helpful, but not when they're overhyped and sold as some sort of magic solution 💫. I mean, have you seen the prices of these online programs? Hundreds of dollars?! That's just crazy 💸. And don't even get me started on the "scientific basis" for some of this stuff 😂. It's like, yeah sure, controlled breathwork can have physiological effects, but rapid breathing methods that involve holding your breath for ages? No thanks 🙅‍♂️. Let's just stick to tried-and-true methods like diaphragmatic breathing and leave the pseudoscience behind 🙏. Can't we all just breathe responsibly (and at a reasonable cost) 😊?

I'm low-key annoyed with all these breathwork courses popping up everywhere 🤯💸 I mean, sure, controlled breathing can be chill and help with stress, but do we really need to pay $200 for a 3-hour workshop to learn how to breathe? 😂 It's just, like, deep breathing exercises you can find on YouTube for free! And don't even get me started on the whole "unlocking your fullest human potential" thing – it sounds like just a fancy way of saying "you'll feel good and relaxed, but that's not exactly science" 😴

And what really gets my goat is when they start throwing around terms like "hypoxic state" and "altered states" without even explaining what the heck they mean 🤔 It's like, I get it, some breathing techniques can be trippy, but do we need to make it sound like some sort of mysticism? 🙄

I think it's time for people to take a step back and separate the hype from the reality when it comes to breathwork 💡 Maybe instead of shelling out cash for some overpriced course, we should just stick with tried-and-true methods that actually work 😊

I think its wild how some breathwork stuff is marketed like a miracle solution 🤯. Like, I've tried some of these exercises and they can be okay, but dont get me wrong, theyre not gonna make you an overnight guru or anything 💪. Its all about perspective, I guess – some people swear by it and feel transformed, while others are just looking for a quick fix 🤔. But let's keep things grounded, right? I mean, breathing is literally free 😂, so why pay hundreds of bucks for a course that might not even work?
