Bruins’ Elias Lindholm will miss ‘a few weeks’, Khusnutdinov promoted to 1C

Bruins' Elias Lindholm Set for Several Weeks Without Hockey Due to Injury, Marat Khusnutdinov Promoted to Top Line.

Boston Bruins center Elias Lindholm is expected to miss a significant amount of time due to a lower-body injury suffered during Thursday's overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Lindholm hurt his knee after colliding with Sabres forward Jordan Greenway at centre ice in the second period. He required assistance from teammates Charlie McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm, as well as help getting off the ice.

Bruins head coach Marco Sturm confirmed that Lindholm will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the severity of his injury, putting him out for "a few weeks". The news is a significant setback for both the Bruins and Lindholm, who was starting to find his footing after a tough 2024-25 season with Boston.

Lindholm's absence will be felt on the Bruins' power play, which ranks 13th in the league. Four of his six goals this season came on the man advantage. With Lindholm out, Marat Khusnutdinov has been promoted to the top line alongside David Pastrnak and Morgan Geekie.

Pastrnak expressed support for Khusnutdinov, telling reporters that he's an "awesome guy" who brings a positive energy to the room. "Just play your game," Pastrnak advised Khusy, acknowledging that his role is not to adjust to the team but rather for them to accommodate his skills.

Khusnutdinov has already shown promise in his top-line role, scoring the overtime winner against Buffalo on Thursday. The 27-year-old centre will look to continue his success as he steps into a key spot on the Bruins' roster.

Ugh, great timing for Elias Lindholm to get injured, just when he was getting back into shape 😒. A few weeks without hockey? That's just peachy for him, I'm sure he'll just be chillin' at home, not missing out on any sick gaming sessions or Netflix binges 🤣. On the bright side, Marat Khusnutdinov gets to shine in his new top-line role, yay for promotions 💁‍♀️. And Pastrnak is just too sweet, always looking out for his teammates... almost like he's trying to be a good teammate or something 🙄. Can't wait to see how this whole thing plays out! 👀

😊 That's not ideal for the Bruins, having Elias Lindholm out for an extended period is like losing a crucial piece of their puzzle 🤖. The loss will definitely be felt in terms of power play efficiency and overall team performance ⚡️. On the other hand, it's great to see Marat Khusnutdinov get promoted to the top line - he's already shown his skills and promise 👍. It's interesting to see how Pastrnak is handling this situation, supporting Khusy while also emphasizing that their role isn't to adapt to the team but rather for the team to accommodate their strengths 🤝. Can't wait to see how Khusnutdinov adapts to his new role and performs under pressure 💪!

Ugh, can't believe Lindholm's gonna be out for "a few weeks" 🤦‍♂️... like, what's the point of even having an MRI if we're just gonna assume it's gonna take that long? 🙄 and now they gotta promote Khusnutdinov to top line on the fly? It's like they're winging it over here 😅... I mean, I guess Pastrnak seems supportive, but come on, can't you see he's a little nervous? 😬 Still, at least Khusy showed some promise in his last game, so fingers crossed for him 🤞

aww man what's up with these injuries?? 💔🏒️ Elias is gonna miss a few weeks which is a bummer, but at least they're promoting Khusnutdinov to the top line 🙌💪 I'm not surprised though, Pastrnak is really good and he knows how to make his teammates look good 😎. Khusy's got some serious skills and he's already been scoring like crazy since being promoted 🚀. Fingers crossed he keeps it up and they can make a deep run in the playoffs 💫

Omg i cant even!! 😱 Elias Lindholm's injury is such bad news for Boston Bruins! He was just getting back on track and now this... Marat Khusnutdinov is gonna have to step up and it's cool that Pastrnak is supporting him, he seems like a great guy 💕. But still, the power play will be so different without Lindholm 🤦‍♂️... what if they struggle? 🤔

awww poor Elias! 🤕 hope he recovers soon and is back on the ice with those sweet power play goals 💥 but congrats to Marat Khusnutdinov for getting promoted to top line, he sounds like a super cool guy 🤜🏻💪 and i love that Pastrnak is being all supportive and stuff, it's so nice to see teammates look out for each other ❤️ fingers crossed for the Bruins and Khusy to do amazing things in this new combo! ⚡

Omg that's so annoying! Elias Lindholm was finally getting back into form and now this 😩. He's gonna be out for "a few weeks" which is like, forever in hockey time 🕰️. I hope he's okay and it wasn't too serious, but on the other hand, Marat Khusnutdinov is getting a big boost to his game! ⚡️ I mean, Pastrnak's right, Khusy's skills are awesome and he brings positivity to the team 🌈. Fingers crossed for him as he takes on this new role 😊.

Omg this is super bad news for the Bruins... Elias Lindholm was finally getting back on track after that rough season last year 🤕💔. Now, it's gonna be tough for them to keep up with their power play and scoring goals without him 📉😬. But hey, at least they're giving Marat Khusnutdinov a chance to shine in this role... I'm curious to see how he'll do, especially since Pastrnak is so supportive of him 😊👍. Maybe this is the push they needed for their top line to really step up and make some noise in the league 💪🔥!

😐 Man, this injury news is just not what you want to hear before a big game... Elias Lindholm was lookin like he was gettin back on track after that rough season last year and now he's out for a few weeks? 🤕 That power play unit is gonna miss him so much. But, I gotta say, Marat Khusnutdinov seems like a cool cat... Pastrnak gave him some props and said he brings positive energy to the room, which is awesome. Maybe this is an opportunity for the Bruins to show what they're made of with their new top line 🤞. On a lighter note, who knew a power play unit would be so crucial? 😂

OMG, can u believe it? Elias Lindholm gets hurt & now they're counting on Marat Khusnutdinov to save the day 🤯🏒️ I mean, Pastrnak is being super supportive but let's be real, he's still gonna get torched by top teams 😂. Either way, this is a huge opportunity for Khusy to step up & show us what he's made of 💪. Fingers crossed he doesn't embarrass himself or the B's 🤦‍♂️

Ugh I'm gonna say this but Elias Lindholm's injury is probably for the best lol 💔 He was having a rough season and was still figuring things out 🤦‍♂️ So maybe this is some kind of blessing in disguise? 🔮 Letting him take a break to recharge and come back stronger when he does return. But seriously, Marat Khusnutdinov stepping up to the top line? That's a bold move by Coach Sturm 💪 He's gotta be confident in Khusy's abilities or else it's just gonna lead to more injuries 🤕

Ugh, just what we needed, another injury to throw off the Bruins' rhythm 😒. Elias Lindholm's lower-body injury is a bummer, especially since he was starting to get back on track after that rough 2024-25 season. Now Marat Khusnutdinov gets thrust into the top line, and I'm curious to see how he handles it 🤔. The kid's got skills, but can he handle the pressure? And what's with Pastrnak's advice - "just play your game"? Easy for him to say when he's not the one getting hurt 🙄. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how Khusy does in this new role 💔.

Ugh, another injury 🤕... Elias Lindholm's got another one and now he's gonna be out for weeks? This is like Groundhog Day in the NHL - can't they just get a break from all these injuries already?! 😩 I mean, what's up with these knee injuries? Can't players just run into each other without getting hurt? 🤦‍♂️

ugh this is so frustrating for Bruins fans, Elias Lindholm is like our favorite player and now he's out for weeks 🤕💔 I remember when they signed him last summer and everyone thought it was gonna be a game changer... and it kinda has been, but still 😩 at least Marat Khusnutdinov seems up for the task though, Pastrnak's got faith in him which is cool 👍🏻 hope he can bring that same magic to our power play 💥

🤕 Elias Lindholm's injury is such a bummer! He was starting to get back on track after that tough season last year, and now this. I mean, it's not like he's getting old or anything 😅. The thing that worries me is how long he'll be out - several weeks? That's a big chunk of time for the Bruins' power play, especially with Lindholm being such a key player on it.

But hey, Marat Khusnutdinov looks like he's stepping up to fill the void 🙌! Pastrnak vouched for him as an "awesome guy" and someone who brings positivity to the room, so I'm hoping this works out in their favor. Still gonna miss Lindholm on the ice though 😔

Oh man 🤕 I'm so bummed for Elias Lindholm 😔 he's been looking better this season and now he's gonna miss some time 💔. But Marat Khusnutdinov is gonna shine in his new top-line role 💫! Pastrnak is so supportive of him, that's awesome 👍. Khusy's gotta keep playing his game and the team will figure it out 🤝. Can't wait to see him light the lamp again 🔥! The power play is gonna be interesting without Lindholm 😳. Let's hope he recovers quickly 🙏 and is back on the ice soon ⚡️!

🤔 so this injury to Lindholm is like, what's up with all these upper-body injuries going around right now? seems like every other week someone's out with a knee or lower-body issue. i get it, hockey's a tough sport, but can't we just have one player go the whole season without getting hurt 😂. and on the bright side, Khusnutdinov gets to shine for once. he was already doing some cool stuff in practice so i'm curious to see how he holds up against the big boys. maybe this is the push he needed to prove himself? 🤞

omg what a bummer for lindholm hope he gets back faster 💔🏒️ i mean i know bruins are supposed to be good but they need him ASAP 😂 their power play is gonna get killed without elias 🚫💥 and khusnutdinov's like the chosen one now lolol david pastrnak saying he's an awesome guy just play your game omg that's so true tho 💯👍

omg what a bummer for Elias Lindholm! hope he recovers ASAP and gets back to his game 💔🏒️, but this is actually kinda cool that Marat Khusnutdinov is getting a chance to shine 🤩, i mean Pastrnak vouched for him already so idk why they weren't starting him on the top line already lol 👀, gotta see how he does though, khusy's got some serious skills 😎
