CBS Vampire Comedy Pilot From ‘Ghosts’ Showrunners Casts Ed Weeks in Lead Role

CBS Vampire Comedy Pilot 'Eternally Yours' Finds Lead in Ed Weeks as Charles

A new vampire comedy pilot from the creators of hit series 'Ghosts,' has landed its lead role in Ed Weeks. The show, titled "Eternally Yours," revolves around two vampires who have been married for 500 years and their struggles to accept their human daughter's boyfriend.

Ed Weeks will play Charles, a member of the vampire couple who is now a pencil pusher with nobility roots from the Middle Ages. He must move every few years to avoid drawing attention to his family's secret: they never age. The character description highlights Charles' disdain for modernity and its "weak-minded humans," making it harder for him to cope when he learns that his vampire daughter is now dating a human.

Weeks, best known for his role as Dr. Jeremy Reed on the popular comedy series 'The Mindy Project,' brings his acting experience to this new project. He has appeared in numerous TV shows and films, including 'House of Lies,' 'Dirty Sexy Funny,' and 'The IT Crowd.'

With "Eternally Yours" set to film in early 2026, it's unclear if the show will make it to series and air alongside another CBS comedy, 'Ghosts.' The pilot was picked up by CBS in July 2024, with development on the show beginning earlier.

idk why ppl need a vampire comedy lol its like vampires r supposed 2 b scary & mysterious not funny 🤣 anyway idc if this show gets made or not but ed weeks is actually pretty cool i mean hes had some iconic roles already and im curious how he'll tackle this character. Charles seems like a total grump, which is kinda relatable tbh who hasn't felt like an old person stuck in modern times? 😒 still gotta see the whole thing b4 i can make up my mind tho

so I think this vampire comedy could be pretty funny but also kinda weird at the same time. like how can you make a centuries-old relationship work? and what's up with these vampires who never age? it sounds like they're just waiting for someone to come along and ruin everything. but hey, Ed Weeks seems like a solid actor so I'm down to give it a shot. i mean, have you seen The Mindy Project? he was hilarious as that doctor guy. anyway, I wonder what other kind of vampire drama this show will throw at us...

I'm so stoked about this new vampire comedy pilot! Ed Weeks is gonna bring Charles to life and I can already imagine how hilarious it's gonna be 😂. A pencil pusher turned medieval noble who just wants to fit in? 🤣 This character has so much potential for witty one-liners and funny moments. And the fact that he's got a disdain for modernity but still tries to navigate it is relatable on a human level, you know? 🤔 The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced this show is gonna be a hit! 💥 Can't wait to see how the human daughter's boyfriend shakes things up for Charles and his vampire wife 👻💕

idk why ed weeks is cast as this character tho 🤔, i mean charles sounds like a major grump 😒 but weeks has played so many funny roles already... maybe he's gonna surprise us? 🤷‍♂️ i do love the premise of the show though, who wouldn't want to watch vampires deal with modern problems 💁‍♀️ & the fact that ed weeks is playing this nobility guy from the middle ages feels like a fun twist 😆

omg i'm so down for a vampire comedy 🧛‍♂️😂 ed weeks as charles sounds like a perfect fit, he's got that awkward humor thing down pat and his character description is giving me all the medieval vibes 😏 the show concept has me intrigued too, who wouldn't want to watch two vampires trying to navigate modern dating and human relationships? 💘 i'm curious to see how it will play out alongside ghosts, if it does get picked up 🤞

omg i am so down for this vampire comedy!!! ed weeks is literally perfect for the role of charles lol who wouldn't want to watch a grown man get all upset about modernity? 🤣🦇 500 years of marriage and still got it goin' on 😂 cant wait to see how charles struggles to accept his human daughter's bf! 💕 also, i love the medieval nobility vibes 👑💅 this show is gonna be a dark comedy masterpiece 💥 fingers crossed it gets picked up to series 🤞

Omg u gotta love when networks give pilots a chance, right? 🤩 So "Eternally Yours" got picked up by CBS and now they're looking for a lead actor to play Charles. I'm low-key excited cuz Ed Weeks is already attached to the role - he's got that perfect mix of quirky & awkward vibes goin' on from his Mindy Project days. The show concept sounds like it could be pretty funny, especially with 500 years of vampiric marriage drama to unpack. Fingers crossed they make it a real show and not just another pilot that gets lost in development hell 🤞

idk what's up with vampires lately 😒 they're so overdone I mean i love ed weeks and all but a vampire comedy pilot? i'm not feeling it yet. maybe its the timing because the mindy project ended and now he's trying to find his next gig 🤔 but honestly i'd rather see him in something else, like another comedy where he can just be himself no need for supernatural drama 💁‍♂️

I'm low-key obsessed with this new vampire comedy pilot "Eternally Yours" 🧛‍♂️💡 - I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show about two vampires who've been married for 500 years and are trying to navigate modern life? It sounds like it could be a hilarious take on the whole "immortal" thing. Ed Weeks as Charles seems like a great choice, he's got that awkward charm that I think would work really well for this character. And can we talk about how cool it is that they're playing with the idea of not aging? It's like they're commentating on our own society's obsession with youth and beauty. But what do you guys think? Would you watch a show about vampires in modern times? 🤔

omg i just got back from the most random vacation to tokyo and tried all this crazy food like fried insects & weird noodles 🤯🍜 anyway back to vampire comedies... have you seen that one where the main character is a human who's obsessed with anime? I swear it was so funny! or maybe it was just me being weird 😂 i always get lost in shows like 'Ghost' too, they're just so good at setting up these intricate mysteries 🤔

🤔 Just saw that Ed Weeks is playing Charles in this new vampire comedy pilot "Eternally Yours" 🦇👍 I'm so down for a laugh-out-loud funny show about vampires who are trying to navigate modern life 😂. The concept of two 500-year-old vampires with a human daughter and her human boyfriend sounds like it's got some amazing comedic potential! 💡 I'm curious to see how Ed Weeks brings this character to life, especially given his experience playing quirky characters in other shows 📺. Fingers crossed that "Eternally Yours" makes it to series and becomes the next big hit on CBS 🎉!

so a vampire comedy, how original 🙄, like we haven't seen that before...but hey, ed weeks is a great choice for the lead role, he's already proven himself as a funny and talented actor in 'The Mindy Project' 💁‍♂️, and who wouldn't want to play a character with a fancy medieval background 🎩...500 years of marriage between two vampires? that's just ripe material for some interesting drama 😏, and i'm kinda curious to see how they'll tackle the whole "never aging" thing without making it too cringe-worthy 💁‍♀️. fingers crossed the show will be entertaining and not just a rehashing of all the vampire tropes we've seen before 🤔

omg I just saw a vid of those vampire movies from like ancient times and they were so campy I love how this new show is gonna be a comedy tho? vampires dating humans? idk if it's gonna work but ed weeks seems cool I need to check out more of his shows, what's "the mindy project" all about?

I'm intrigued by this vampire comedy idea 🧛‍♂️, but I'm not sure how well it'll translate to TV. Ed Weeks seems like a great casting choice, though - he's got that awkward charm that works really well in comedies. The 500-year marriage thing is a bit of a trope, but if done right, it could be interesting. The fact that Charles has nobility roots from the Middle Ages and struggles with modernity makes me think there's some good satire potential here 🤔. But will they avoid relying too heavily on vampire cliches? And how will the human daughter's boyfriend factor into the show? That's a tough one to pull off without feeling like a plot device 🤷‍♂️. I'm curious to see where this show goes, but I need some convincing before I'm fully on board 💭

I'm soooo behind on this one! 😂 I just saw that Ed Weeks landed the lead role in "Eternally Yours" and I'm intrigued! A vampire comedy sounds like a unique take on the genre and I love that it's from the creators of "Ghosts". The premise of two vampires with a human daughter and her human boyfriend is already giving me some laughs. I can see Ed Weeks bringing his character to life, especially with his experience playing comedic roles in shows like "The Mindy Project" and "House of Lies". Fingers crossed that it makes it to series and becomes a hit! 🤞

📺 I'm low-key hyped for this new vampire comedy pilot! 🦇💕 Ed Weeks seems like a great fit for Charles, he's got that perfect mix of awkwardness and nobility vibes going on. I love how the character is described as a pencil pusher who's stuck in his old ways, it's gonna be hilarious watching him try to navigate modern life. The premise of the show sounds like a unique take on vampire lore, with the whole human-vampire daughter boyfriend thing adding an extra layer of complexity. Fingers crossed that this one makes it to series! 🤞
