Celtic to Challenge Red Card Given to Defender Trusty in Scottish Premiership Draw.
The Hoops have confirmed they will be contesting the decision to send off their defender Auston Trusty in last weekend's 2-2 draw against Hearts at Tynecastle Park. Celtic, who trailed 2-1 until Claudio Braga equalised for Hearts, were initially satisfied with the original yellow card issued by referee Steven McLean but a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) intervention upgraded it to a red.
Trusty was involved in a challenge on Hearts striker Pierre Landry Kabore but Celtic's interim manager Martin O'Neill disputes the call. He believes Trusty did not commit a foul and claims the goal-scoring opportunity was minimal, stating "I've seen it back and I have to say I don't see it." The Northern Irishman also believes the red card played a massive part in the game. Celtic will now submit an appeal to the Scottish Football Association (SFA) regarding the decision.
