Celtics rally from 22-point deficit to edge Heat, 98-96

Celtics Survive Thrilling Comeback to Edge Heat 98-96 in Boston.

In a game that showcased the unpredictable nature of basketball, the Boston Celtics overcame an astonishing 22-point deficit to edge out the Miami Heat 98-96. The team's fifth consecutive win was secured thanks to clutch performances from Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard.

As the first half wore on, it became increasingly clear that the Heat were the dominant force. Led by a scorching start from guard Andrew Wiggins, who netted 14 points in the opening quarter, Miami quickly built up a substantial lead. Boston struggled to find their footing, shooting just 28% during the first two quarters and trailing by as many as 22.

However, with the game reaching its midpoint, the Celtics' fortunes began to shift dramatically. Jaylen Brown led the charge, scoring 13 points in the third quarter, while Payton Pritchard also found his range behind the arc. The Heat's lead was cut down to just three points by the end of the period, setting up a thrilling finish.

With time running out on the third quarter, Boston seized their opportunity. Derrick White hit a clutch 3-pointer from the corner with just 1:31 remaining, snapping a scoreless stretch and handing his team the lead for the first time in the game. Despite a last-ditch effort from All-Star Norman Powell, who netted 24 points on the night, it was too little, too late.

The Heat's final chance at victory came courtesy of Davion Mitchell, but his long-range shot rimmed out with just over two seconds left on the clock, securing Boston's hard-fought win. In a season marked by inconsistency and uncertainty, this game will be remembered for its sheer drama and resilience from the Celtics' side.

For their part, new signing Nikola Vucevic enjoyed an impressive first outing in green, registering a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds. The veteran forward was warmly received by the TD Garden crowd as he checked into the game, with chants of "Voooch!" echoing throughout the arena.

man that comeback was insane 🔥💥 Celtics got my vote for the most clutch win this season gotta give it up to Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard they were on fire in the 3rd quarter 😅 Derrick White's shot from the corner was pure magic 💫 what a game! 👏

omg that final shot from Davion Mitchell was so close 🤯! i dont think i can handle a game like that again my heart is still racing 😅 anyway, its cool to see the celtics bounce back like that they really showed their team spirit and stuff... what do you mean by clutch performances tho? does it mean they were good under pressure? 😕

😊 This comeback is just mind-blowing! I mean, 22 points down, and they manage to turn it around? That's some serious teamwork and clutch performances from Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard 💪. And can we talk about Derrick White's shot with just over a minute left? 🤯 What a game-changer! The Celtics really showed their resilience tonight 👏. I love how Nikola Vucevic stepped up on his first outing too - welcome to the team, mate 😊.

omg i love how this game went down!!! Celtics were so down in the dumps but Jaylen Brown & Payton Pritchard stepped up their A-game like pros!!! I was on the edge of my seat when Derrick White hit that clutch 3-pointer btw who else can say they've seen a comeback like that?!? and nice job to Nikola Vucevic, first outing in green and already making an impact 🤩👏

🤯 I mean, what a game! You gotta feel for those Celtics though, they were down by like 22 and still managed to come back and win. It's all about heart and resilience, you know? Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard were on fire, and Derrick White's clutch shot was the dagger to the Heat's throat. And can we talk about Nikola Vucevic, man? He brought a whole new level of energy to the game! 🤝 The crowd loved him, and he showed us that even with all the ups and downs in this season, Boston's got heart and they're not giving up on their championship dreams yet 💪.

The Celtics' win is definitely a testament to their team spirit 🤩. It's insane that they came back from such a huge deficit - I mean, 22 points is crazy! Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard were on fire in the third quarter. Their clutch performances made all the difference.

I love how Derrick White hit that big three-pointer to take the lead with just over a minute left. It's those moments like that which remind you why basketball is so exciting ⏰. And on top of that, Nikola Vucevic was solid in his debut, grabbing 12 rebounds and scoring 11 points.

It's also interesting to see how the Heat were unable to close out the game 🤔. A few more seconds could've changed the outcome completely. Nonetheless, it's a win for Boston, and they can build on this momentum as they move forward in the season. Bring on the next challenge! 💪

OMG 🤯, what a crazy game!!! Celtics were written off after that huge deficit but they showed so much heart and resilience to come back from it 💪🔥! Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard were absolute heroes with their clutch performances 👏! The Heat had some great moments too, especially Andrew Wiggins' start 🔥, but it wasn't enough in the end 🤷‍♂️. And that 3-pointer by Derrick White was insane!!! 😲 I'm loving how Nikola Vucevic is fitting in so well with his double-double debut 💯👍! Can't wait for the next game to see what these guys can do again 🤔👀
