CEOs are tired of being held responsible for gun regulation | CNN Business

I gotta say, it's pretty shocking that corporate America is being so quiet on gun control 🤔. I mean, we've seen them speak out on all sorts of issues, from LGBTQ+ rights to climate change. But when it comes to something like this, where innocent lives are lost, it just feels really out of touch, you know? It's like they're more worried about their bottom line than doing what's right 🤑.

And don't even get me started on Tesla's sales figures 📊. If they can't even be honest with themselves about how well their cars are selling, how can we trust them to speak out on something as important as gun control? It just feels like a PR stunt to me 📰.

I think what Sonnenfeld is saying makes sense though - social capital is just as valuable as financial capital 💸. We need CEOs and big business to use their influence to drive change, not just talk the talk 🗣️.

😒 corporate America's got some "shoot"-ing selves in the foot on this one... all those big bucks they're throwing around, but when it comes to gun control, crickets 🐈. I mean, you'd think they'd be like "okay, we're rich, we can afford to take a stand"... but nope! 🤑

Corporate America's silence on gun regulation is kinda weird 🤔... I mean, they're always quick to jump on issues like diversity and inclusion, but when it comes to something that affects a lot of people directly, like gun control, they just seem to be holding back 💸. It's not like they're not influential or anything - they have the resources and the voice to make a real difference 🗣️. But at the same time, I don't think it's entirely accurate to say that all big businesses are pulling out of politics, either 🤷‍♀️... some are actually doing more to support gun control efforts than others, so maybe we're just seeing a mixed picture here 📊.

I do think Jeffrey Sonnenfeld has a point about social capital being important, though 💡. If CEOs can't get lawmakers on board with their views, then they need to find other ways to build that social capital and make their voices heard 👥. Maybe it's time for them to start working together more closely with advocacy groups or community organizations to push for change 🤝. But at the same time, we also need to hold CEOs accountable for using their influence responsibly 💪. It's a complex issue, but I think there's definitely room for nuance and critical thinking here 🔍.
