Chaka Khan, St. Vincent, Haim, Chappell Roan Among Honorees for 2026 Resonator Awards

We Are Moving the Needle To Honor Women Behind the Music at 2026 Resonator Awards

The highly anticipated 2026 Resonator Awards is set to take place during Grammy Week, celebrating impactful female music makers in a star-studded ceremony. The event, now in its second year, aims to strengthen the music industry by honoring remarkable artistry and promoting an inclusive environment for women creators.

The honorees include the legendary Queen of Funk Chaka Khan, rockers St. Vincent and Haim, rising star Chappell Roan, as well as influential engineers, producers, and songwriters like Gena Johnson, Bella Blasko, Jayda Love, and Roger Davies. These remarkable women will be recognized for their contributions to the music industry with various awards, including the Luminary Award, Golden Trifecta Award, Disruptors Award, Harmonizer Award, Powerhouse Award, Exceptional Ears Award, All-Star Award, In Stereo Award, Breakthrough Award, Equalizer Award, and Transformer Award.

The Resonator Awards will be held on January 27th at Los Angeles' Chaplin Studios, hosted by comedian and musician Fred Armisen. The event promises to be a memorable night with performances from talented artists such as FLO, Thundercat, Sia, Hayley Williams, Lalah Hathaway, Maggie Rogers, and more surprise guests. A tribute to Chaka Khan's greatest hits will also take place, featuring special guest appearances by Grace Bowers, Hayley Williams, Lalah Hathaway, Maggie Rogers, and others.

Founded by Grammy-winning engineer Emily Lazar in 2021, We Are Moving the Needle aims to address severe underrepresentation of women in creative fields related to music. According to the 2025 Annenberg Report, only 5.9 percent of producers on the year-end Billboard Hot 100 chart are female. The organization's mission is to strengthen the music industry so creators can thrive on their own terms.

"We Are Moving the Needle is about strengthening the music industry so creators can thrive on their own terms," said Lazar in announcing the lineup. "The Resonator Awards are a reflection of that mission β€” honoring not only remarkable artistry, but the shared commitment to building an industry that lives up to its values."

Added Chaka Khan: "Empowered women empower women. I am honored to be part of a movement that celebrates the creativity, resilience, and determination of women creators everywhere. We lift each other and shine. Together, we are moving the needle."

OMG, I'm so hyped for this! The Resonator Awards sound like an amazing event 🀩. I love how they're trying to change the game by honoring these incredible women in music 🎢. Chaka Khan is literally a legend 😍 and it's so cool that they're including her on the list. I also really want to see Sia perform, she's always been so talented 🌟. But what made me think of this is... have you guys ever noticed how hard it is for women in music to get recognized? Like, only 5.9% of producers on Billboard Hot 100 chart are female? That's crazy! πŸ’₯ So yeah, I'm totally down for an event that promotes and celebrates these talented women πŸŽ‰. Can't wait to see the performances and the tribute to Chaka Khan πŸŽΆπŸ‘

😊 this is so cool! i mean think about it... there's still work to be done in the music industry 🎡, especially when it comes to empowering women creators πŸ’ͺ. but when people like chaka khan come out and say "empowered women empower women" 🀝, it shows that we're making progress, even if its just a tiny step forward πŸ‘£. its all about lifting each other up and creating an inclusive environment 🌈, where everyone can thrive on their own terms πŸ’•. so here's to the resonator awards and the amazing women who are part of this movement πŸŽ‰!

🌟 I'm so excited for the 2026 Resonator Awards! πŸŽ‰ It's awesome that they're shining a spotlight on women who make music, from legendary artists like Chaka Khan to up-and-coming talent like Chappell Roan. The fact that they're recognizing the hard work of female engineers, producers, and songwriters too is just amazing - it's about time we see more balance in the industry! πŸ’ͺ I love that Emily Lazar founded We Are Moving the Needle to address the lack of women in music, it's a really important mission. And can we talk about the lineup? 🀩 FLO, Thundercat, Sia... it's going to be an epic night! But what's even more impressive is Chaka Khan's message - empowering women does empower everyone. Let's keep celebrating and supporting each other in the music industry! πŸ’•

πŸ€” the good thing about this is that they're actually doing something about the lack of representation in the music industry - 5.9% is a pretty small number, so it's cool to see them giving some attention to women behind the scenes. i'm also happy to see chaka khan being honored, she's an icon! πŸ™Œ but at the same time, i'm not sure if this is enough to really make a difference... like, are they just talking about representation or actually making changes? and what about other genres of music - are these awards only for women in specific types of music? πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

i'm not sure about this whole 'celebrating women in music' vibe... πŸ€” i mean don't get me wrong, it's great that there's a movement to address the underrepresentation of women in the industry, but is it just another way to pat yourself on the back? πŸ’β€β™€οΈ are we really gonna change anything with all these awards and ceremonies? πŸŽ‰ i'm not saying it can't be helpful or inspire people, but let's not forget that there are still a lot of barriers for women in music to overcome. like, what about the industry-wide issues like pay equity, sexism, and harassment? 🚫 shouldn't we be tackling those problems instead of just giving out awards? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm not sure about all these awards πŸ€”, but it's cool they're giving it out for women in music. Chaka Khan is a legend πŸ™Œ, and I love that they're including producers and engineers too - those ladies work hard behind the scenes πŸ’Ό. It feels like we're moving towards some progress, but at the same time, 5.9% of producers on Billboard Hot 100 is still pretty low 😐. Still, it's all about celebrating women in music, so I'm here for that πŸŽ‰!

omg i'm so hyped for these women getting recognized 🀩!! like can u believe there's only 5.9% female producers on billboard hot 100?? that's insane! We Are Moving the Needle is literally doing something real here πŸ’ͺ, honoring these incredible women behind the music is a must πŸ‘ chaka khan, st vincent, haim, and all the others are total legends 🀯 i'm so down for this tribute to her greatest hits too 🎡 and flo, thundercat, sia, hayley williams, lalah hathaway, maggie rogers... who's not excited for this?! 😍

I'm intrigued by the Resonator Awards' mission to address the underrepresentation of women in music-related fields πŸ€”. The idea of celebrating impactful female music makers with a star-studded ceremony is long overdue πŸ’«. It's heartening to see organizations like We Are Moving the Needle taking steps towards creating an inclusive environment for women creators πŸŽ‰.

The diverse lineup of honorees, including Chaka Khan and St. Vincent, is a testament to the organization's commitment to highlighting remarkable artistry and promoting a more equitable industry 🌟. I'm excited to see the impact of these awards on shaping the music landscape in 2026 πŸ“ˆ. The inclusion of various awards categories, such as the Luminary Award and Transformer Award, suggests a nuanced approach to recognizing women's contributions in multiple areas of the industry πŸ’Ό.

It will be fascinating to witness the night's performances from talented artists like FLO, Thundercat, and Sia 🎡. The tribute to Chaka Khan's greatest hits promises to be a memorable moment, celebrating the legacy of an iconic artist πŸ”₯. I'm optimistic that We Are Moving the Needle is moving the needle in the right direction πŸ’ͺ

omg, i'm so hyped about this!! 🀩 finally some recognition for all the talented women behind the music scenes! it's crazy to think that only 5.9% of producers on the billboard hot 100 chart are female, that's just wrong πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. we need more women in positions of power and making decisions that shape our music industry.

i love that this event is not just about giving awards, but also about creating a platform for these women to be heard and celebrated 🌟. chaka khan's legacy is already cemented as the queen of funk, and now her name is being used to spread a message of empowerment πŸ™Œ. it's amazing to see a movement like this taking shape, where women are lifting each other up and creating change πŸ’ͺ.

i'm also super excited to see all these talented artists performing together πŸŽΆπŸ‘. this is exactly what we need more of - more female voices, more creativity, and more inclusivity πŸ”₯. let's keep pushing the needle and making our industry a better place for everyone! πŸ’–

It's so great to see an award show dedicated to celebrating women in music 🌟! The thing is, it's not just about recognizing their achievements but also about breaking down barriers that have held them back for so long. It's like, there's this saying "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" - you know, how when everyone works together towards a common goal, amazing things happen? That's what We Are Moving the Needle is all about 🀝.

And I love how Chaka Khan said "empowered women empower women" - it's so true! When we uplift and support each other, we can achieve so much more than we could alone. It's like when you're on a hike and you come across someone who needs help, you lend them your hand and together, you conquer the mountain πŸ”οΈ.

The music industry is all about creativity and self-expression, but it's also about creating spaces for everyone to thrive. This award show is not just a celebration of women in music but also a reminder that we need more inclusivity and diversity in our creative fields 🎨.

🀝 just think about it, if 5.9% of producers on Billboard Hot 100 chart are female... it means there's still a looong way to go for equality in music industry 🌟

πŸ™ it's dope to see the music industry taking steps to uplift women who are making waves behind the scenes. these women r doing the real work, creating the beats & sounds that inspire us 🎡 but sadly, they're still underrepresented. its like, we need more of them at the table to make a real difference 🀝 anyway, it's awesome that they're recognizing their contributions & giving 'em the recognition they deserve πŸ’«
