Chatsworth estate in Derbyshire opens a new family-friendly hotel

Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire Unveils Family-Friendly Hotel

Perched atop a rolling hillside, Chatsworth House has been a stately home since 1536. With its limestone edifice and beautifully manicured parkland, it's no wonder the estate attracts over 600,000 visitors annually.

The latest addition to the Chatsworth Escapes portfolio is The Hide hotel, which opened in October last year. This new family-friendly accommodation offers an affordable alternative to pricier options, with doubles starting at Β£80 a night and bunk rooms sleeping two adults and two children from Β£125.

Guests can enjoy the hotel's 'campfire-inspired menu designed for sharing and cooked over an open flame' or dine in one of its two pubs, the Beeley Inn and the Pilsley Inn. For those who prefer more leisurely pursuits, The Hide offers a dedicated play corner with books, toys and a miniature kitchen.

To complement its hospitality offerings, Chatsworth Estate has also expanded its services to include a fitness club, which boasts a pool, gym, tennis courts and various treatments. Guests can purchase day passes for access.

The estate's 14,000 hectares of parkland and moorland provide ample opportunities for outdoor pursuits, including walking and cycling. A circular walk from the hotel takes guests across fields to Chatsworth House.

For those looking for a taste of history, private tours of Chatsworth House are available, led by knowledgeable guides such as Martin who regaled us with fascinating facts about 17 generations of Cavendish family members who lived here.

omg i think its kinda weird that theyre making a hotel at chatsworth estate idk about the appeal of staying in a stately home thats more like a museum lol its all so formal and stuff u would be like surrounded by history but also like, stuck in a fancy place πŸ˜’ maybe its good for families tho? theres not many options for affordable vacation spots with kids πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Just what I need - another posh hotel to make my wallet cry πŸ€‘πŸ¨. But seriously, who wouldn't want a campfire-inspired dinner and a mini play corner for the kids? Sounds like The Hide is trying to bring some down-to-earth charm to Chatsworth Estate πŸ‘

I gotta say, a hotel on top of Chatsworth Estate sounds like just another tourist trap to me πŸ€”. I mean, Β£80 a night is steep for what feels like just a glorified campsite. And don't even get me started on the "campfire-inspired menu" – it's just a fancy way of saying they're trying to charge people more for food because their hotel is fancy πŸ€‘.

And what's with the play corner and mini kitchen? Is that really what families need these days? Can't they just stay in their own homes or go to, I don't know, actual playgrounds? The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to think this hotel is just a way for rich people to pay through the nose to have an experience with their kids πŸ˜’.

omg i'm loving the new hotel at chatsworth estate 🀩🏰! Β£80 a night for a doubles is crazy cheap considering it's got all these sick facilities like an open flame menu and a play corner with toys and books πŸ“šπŸŽ‰ my fave part tho has gotta be the outdoor pursuits - 14k hectares of parkland? that's like, endless possibilities for hikes and cycles πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’¨ i've already been thinking of planning a family trip there this year πŸ‘€

I'm like, totally stoked that they've added a hotel to the estate 🀩. I mean, Β£80 for a double room? That's kinda steep, but at the same time, it's pretty cool that there are options for families on a budget πŸ’Έ. And omg, a play corner with toys and books? Genius! My kids would love that πŸ˜‚.

But, on the other hand, I'm not sure if I'd want to pay extra for a fitness club membership πŸ€”. Like, if they're just gonna charge you more for access to a pool and gym, it's kinda like they're nickel-and-diming us, right? And what's with the 'campfire-inspired menu' though? Is that really necessary? πŸ˜’

And don't even get me started on the prices of the day passes πŸ€‘. Like, if I want to use their facilities, I should be able to afford it, not have to shell out extra cash just because I'm a guest 😬.

I guess what I'm saying is that The Hide hotel sounds like a great addition, but I need to see how they balance the prices and services to make sure everyone's happy 🀝.

πŸ˜‚πŸ°πŸ‘ͺ [image of a cartoon house with a big smile and a banner that says "Family-friendly hotel...and also super expensive?"]

πŸ’ΈπŸ€ The Β£80 double room is basically just a hostel bed, but hey, at least you get to stay near Chatsworth House! 🏞️

πŸ‘€πŸ”₯ Who needs a fancy hotel when you can just have a campfire and some s'mores in the woods? πŸ”₯πŸͺ

πŸ€£πŸ“š The miniature kitchen is like something from a bad 90s sitcom. "What's for dinner, kids? Uh... toast?" πŸžπŸ‘€

Ugh, I mean, I'm not sure if this is really a good idea... A Β£80 per night hotel in the middle of nowhere? It just seems like another way for rich people to escape to their country homes and pay exorbitant prices for overpriced food and accommodations πŸ€‘. And what's with the 'campfire-inspired menu' thing? Just because it sounds Instagrammable doesn't mean it's a good idea... isn't that just a fancy way of saying 'we're serving up burnt burgers and soggy marshmallows'? πŸ˜’
