The Philadelphia Eagles made some savvy moves at the trade deadline, filling a few of their most pressing needs. But what if they had held onto some of their key players who departed this offseason? Would the team have more holes to fill now?

Let's check in with some former Eagles players who are making a name for themselves elsewhere in the league.

Josh Sweat, Defensive End, Cardinals

Kenny Pickett, Quarterback, Raiders
The Eagles traded Pickett for a fifth-round pick, and he's now backup to Geno Smith in Cleveland, throwing just three passes this season.

Kenny Gainwell, Running Back, Steelers
Gainwell has settled into a rotational role with the Steelers but hasn't seen significant action since his monster weeks earlier in the year. He's had 29 catches but just 52 rushing attempts this season.

Darian Kinnard, Offensive Lineman, Packers

man these eagles trades were wild I mean they gave away some big talent like sweat and cjgj it's crazy to think about what could've been if they held onto them now they're making a name for themselves elsewhere in the league which is cool but it also hurts to see them succeed without philly 😂💔
 
I gotta disagree with all these reunions tho 🤷‍♂️. Guys who got traded away for a reason are probably not gonna magically fix all the Eagles' problems on their own. Like, what's up with C.J. Gardner-Johnson having two sacks in one game? That's just unrealistic. And don't even get me started on Josh Sweat – eight sacks is not even close to enough if he's the only guy doing it for Philly 🤦‍♂️.

And let's be real, most of these former Eagles players are still trying to prove themselves all over again in new cities. It's like they forgot how to play the game 😒. I think it's time for the Eagles to stop making excuses and start finding those new guys who actually got it 🔥.
 
so i was thinking, what really matters here is how these guys did after leaving philly 🤔. i mean, it's cool that they're all doing well with their new teams and stuff, but at the end of the day, you wonder if holding onto them would've made a difference for the eagles this season ⏰. c.j.gj, josh sweat, and meki becton are definitely having some solid seasons, but it's also interesting to see how they're adjusting to new teammates and coaches 🤝.

i'm kinda surprised that bryce huff isn't getting more sacks tbh 😐. he seemed like a promising guy coming out of eagles org, but maybe being in the 49ers system is helping him improve? 🤔
 
I'm telling you, something fishy went down when those Eagles made those trades. I mean, Josh Sweat's been killing it out there but they still sent him packing? And CJGJ's doing great with the Bears but why did they let him go in the first place? It's like they're trying to sabotage their own team. And have you noticed how many of these guys are on teams that are actually making a push for the playoffs? I'm not buying it. The real question is, what's really going on behind the scenes? 🤔

I'm curious about what happened to C.J. Gardner-Johnson after being released by the Texans. 🤔 He seems like a solid player who's making an impact with the Bears now. I wonder if he would've been more productive in Philly or if the team just didn't have the right system for him. 🏈
 
THE NFL TRADE DEADLINE WAS A TOTAL GAME CHANGER FOR THOSE TEAM!!! I THINK SOME OF THE PLAYERS WE LOSE WERE SUPER KEY TO THEIR TEAMS SUCCESS THIS SEASON BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THEY'RE STILL DOING OKAY IN THEIR NEW HOMES 🤔💪
 
🤔 I think it's crazy how things can change for a player when they leave Philly 🗽️ #EaglesNation. Like, we're seeing some of these guys thrive in other teams, but then you look at players like Kenny Pickett who got traded and now he's just backup QB 🤦‍♂️ #NFLTradeDrama. The Eagles made the right call on Sweat, I think they needed to get rid of CJGJ's playstyle was too much for their defense 🚫 #EaglesTradeDeadline. But it's cool to see guys like Mekhi Becton killing it in LA 💥 #ChargersNation!

Just saw that trade deadline moves and I gotta say, some of these players could've really made a difference for the Eagles if they held onto them. Like, C.J.GJ's been killing it since joining the Bears 🤯. And what's up with Isaiah Rodgers' numbers slowing down? He's still top-notch though. The Cardinals got good on Josh Sweat, I guess, but you can never know for sure... 😊

CJGJ seems like a major upgrade for Chicago 💯 and Isaiah Rodgers is still one of the best CBs in the league 👀. It's crazy how much Darius Slay has changed his game since joining the Steelers 🤔... from being too laid back, now he's totally bringing it 😂. Milton Williams is making waves with just 10 games under his belt already 🎉 and Mekhi Becton is doing awesome as a guard for the Chargers 🏈
 
😒 I mean, I'm not surprised they're doing okay elsewhere, but it's still weird thinking about what could've been for Philly if they held onto those guys. It seems like they got decent value from the trades and all, but there are definitely some holes that need to be filled now... 👎
 
the trade deadline was a mess for Philly fans 🤯 if they held onto sweat and cjgj they'd be in a way better spot now...but hey its not like we know what the front office was thinking 🤑 i'm curious though how much longer can CJGJ keep up this level of play he's been lights out but injuries are gonna catch up with him eventually 💪
 
🤔 so I was thinking about how some of these Eagles players did after they left Philly... and honestly, it's pretty cool to see them killing it elsewhere 🏈💪 like Josh Sweat who's having an amazing season with the Cardinals 🎉 C.J.GJ is also doing great for the Bears 💼 meanwhile Isaiah Rodgers' numbers aren't as fire as before but he's still a top corner 😅 and Milton Williams is already racking up sacks with the Patriots 👍 what I love about these updates is that it shows even though they're not in Philly anymore, their skills are still on point 🤓
