I gotta say, I'm kinda impressed that Houston's doin' somethin' about this gun violence problem. $300k is a decent chunk of change, but it's better than nothin'. What I really wanna know is how this data's gonna be used to help prevent these tragedies. Are we just talkin' 'bout throwin' some money at PR firms or is there actual concrete plans in place?
I'm all for helpin' out our youngins', like the 10-yr-olds gettin' caught up in gun violence. Free gun locks sound like a good start, but I'd wanna see more systemic changes bein' made too, like better mental health resources and community programs.
The transparency thing is still kinda sketchy for me, though. Can't we have it both ways? We can appreciate the effort to shed some light on this issue without gettin' all up in arms about how it's funded.
