COL Group International's Zhuhai-Macau Studio Now Live and in Action
COL Group International has officially kicked off full operations at its state-of-the-art studio in Zhuhai, Macau. The 220,000 square meter facility boasts an impressive production space across 94 indoor and outdoor sets, catering to both traditional long-form television dramas and the rapidly growing microdrama format.
The studio's maiden projects are TVB's flagship business drama "City of Splendour" and Mango TV's microdrama series "He Will Return Before Dawn". "City of Splendour", starring a talented cast including Julian Cheung, Ron Ng, and Samantha Ko, returned to the studio in early January for the completion of major interior sequences. Meanwhile, "He Will Return Before Dawn", featuring leads Bevan Bi and Zhang Miaoyi, has been undergoing focused shoot at the facility.
The studio is designed to accommodate both long-form dramas and microdramas, with a focus on parallel shoots and rapid set turnover. This setup enables COL Group International to meet the growing demands of premium scripted television while also catering to the increasingly popular microdrama format.
According to Timothy Oh, general manager of COL Group International, "We're not just in the business of platforms and distribution... We're helping our partners scale effectively and efficiently – from IP and production capabilities, to our content library and even marketing support." The studio is part of COL's broader integrated content ecosystem, which spans production, IP development, platform operations, and distribution.
COL Group International aims to partner with broadcasters, streaming platforms, and content producers across the Greater China region and beyond. With its new Zhuhai-Macau Studio now live and in action, the company is poised to capitalize on the growing demand for high-quality, engaging content in Asia.
