Confessions of a serial leaf stealer: the garden gadget that actually made tidying fun

We've all been there - standing in our gardens on crisp autumn mornings, gazing out at the kaleidoscope of colour before the leaves drop to the ground. But for those of us with larger gardens, deciduous trees or a growing disdain for thankless jobs (as I do as I get older), raking up the litter might be too much to handle.

For my latest investigation, I set about testing 10 electric leaf blowers and garden vacuums designed to reduce the physical load. The trouble was, the leaves were still on the trees when I started - a hurdle that required some creative problem-solving.

I gathered hedge trimmings, took our bay trees for a haircut (which smelled amazing but didn't yield many leaves), and even considered raiding my local woods for last year's fall. But then a neighbouring street dropped its horse chestnut trees early, leaving me with an unexpected bounty of brown leaves to collect.

As I gathered my bulk bags of leaves, I wondered how these electric leaf blowers would perform in the field. Would they send leaves flying, or struggle to make headway? I timed their battery life and ensured a decent air speed of at least 45mph using my trusty anemometer.

The results were mixed, but some models stood out from the crowd. The Milwaukee M18 Fuel Blower FBLG3-802 sent leaves an impressive distance despite being light and easy to carry around. For smaller jobs, the svelte Bosch Universal leaf blower 18V-130 would do well - with a narrower working angle for focused, targeted blowing.

Of course, not all of these blowers were garden vacuums (although half of them were). I was pleasantly surprised by how many models combined both functions. Testing and tidying up at the same time? It's a reviewer's dream come true.

As we head into the winter months, our gardens become even more littered with fallen leaves. But with these electric leaf blowers and garden vacuums, clearing up might just be the most enjoyable part of maintaining your outdoor space.

omg i totally get why the author was like "leave it all to nature" lol idk about those electric leaf blowers tho some look super useful i mean who doesn't love a gadget that makes gardening easier 🀩 but 45mph is kinda fast for me maybe too much? still, if it's lighter and easier to carry around like the milwaukee one, idk why not give it a shot πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€” I gotta say, testing those electric leaf blowers was a bit like trying to predict the weather - you never know what's gonna happen. Like, how many people really think about raking up leaves? πŸ‚ It seems like some of these manufacturers just phoned it in with their designs. The Milwaukee one that worked so well is actually pretty basic. I mean, it's not rocket science to design a tool that can handle its weight in leaves. Not trying too hard might be the secret to its success. And Bosch, man... they're like the boring but reliable uncle of leaf blowers. Who knew you could get excited about vacuums and blowers? πŸ˜‚

omg can you even imagine not having to rake those pesky leaves anymore? πŸπŸ‘Œ i'm loving how some of these electric leaf blowers are designed to send leaves flying in a specific direction lol, genius! and it's so cool that the bosch universal leaf blower comes with a narrower working angle for those smaller jobs - so precise! πŸ’ͺ as we head into winter, having an easy way to tidy up our gardens is def going to be a game-changer πŸŽ‰

I'm loving those new electric leaf blowers 😍! I've got a big garden too, and trust me, raking up all that leaf clutter is such a pain 🀯. But these models you tested are game changers! The Milwaukee one is so lightweight, it's like a breeze to use πŸ’¨. And the fact that some of them can also vacuum up leaves? Game. On. I've already ordered one and I'm excited to see how it'll do in my own garden this autumn πŸŽƒ. Can't wait for winter to come and see just how much easier leaf clearing becomes with these fancy blowers πŸ’ͺ!

πŸ€” I mean, what's up with all these reviews that start off sounding super helpful but then drag on for ages like this one? Can't they just get to the point already? 😩 Like, I'd love to know about those electric leaf blowers and vacuums too, but do I really need a 200-word intro about the author's morning routine in the garden? 🌞️ Not exactly what I came here for. πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

I'm so done with all the fuss over which one is better... like, can't we just enjoy our gardens without having to compare leaf blowers? πŸŒΏπŸ’¨ I mean, I've got a friend who loves their electric leaf blower, but my neighbor swears by an old-fashioned rake. And honestly, at this point, I'm just happy if the leaves don't make me want to pull my hair out! πŸ˜‚

I'm thinking, it's like when my friends and I used to have big parties in the park πŸ€ͺ, and after a while, we'd just get tired of cleaning up everyone else's trash. But seriously, these electric leaf blowers seem like they could be super helpful for us busy people who don't want to spend all day raking leaves.

I've been looking at some reviews online, and it seems like the ones that combine blower and vacuum functions are really popular πŸ“Š. The Milwaukee one you tested sounds pretty cool, by the way! But I'm not sure if they're worth the money for just a few uses... maybe someone with bigger gardens can try them out and let me know?

the thing is πŸ€”, i was kinda expecting to hate these electric leaf blowers, but they're actually pretty cool πŸ’¨. i mean, it's always been a pain in the butt raking leaves by hand, so any tool that makes that job easier is worth checking out πŸ“ˆ. the ones that can double as garden vacuums are like the ultimate multi-tasker 🀯. and yeah, some of them are super light and easy to carry around, making it less of a chore to use them for smaller jobs πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ. i guess what surprised me was how many models have both blowing and vacuuming capabilities - that's just so convenient 😊.

I'm so over raking leaves too! πŸπŸ’¨ I mean, who has time for that? It's like our lawns are saying "you're not doing enough to keep us tidy" and then we gotta deal with all those annoying bags of trash collecting in the corners.

But, you know what would be awesome? If these electric leaf blowers came with solar panels or something πŸŒžπŸ’‘. Like, imagine being able to charge it on the go while you're cleaning up your garden. That'd save me so much battery-life anxiety!

I'm so glad someone is finally tackling the pressing issue of leaf blowers πŸ™„. Like, who needs a social life when you have a bunch of noisy devices to test out in your backyard? 😴 Anyway, I was pretty impressed with the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Blower FBLG3-802 - it's like they knew exactly what I needed (a fancy blower to compensate for my lack of free time). And yay for garden vacuums that can do both jobs! Because nothing says "fun" like vacuuming up leaves while simultaneously trying to find the perfect leaf-blowing distance 🌿.

I gotta say, I'm loving the new cordless tech for gardening πŸŒΏπŸ’¨! Electric leaf blowers and vacuums are a total game changer for those of us who hate raking up leaves 😩. The Milwaukee M18 Fuel Blower FBLG3-802 is a beast πŸ’ͺ, sending leaves flying like they're nobody's business. And the Bosch Universal leaf blower 18V-130 is super sleek and easy to use πŸ“ˆ. It's amazing how many of these models combo both blowing and vacuuming features - talk about multitasking 🀩! For those with larger gardens, I think this tech is gonna save us all a lot of time and energy πŸ’Ό. Now if only they could make 'em more affordable for the average Joe πŸ‘...

I'm not sure I'd say it's a total game-changer, but an electric leaf blower can definitely make a difference in the long run... especially if you've got a big yard to tackle! 😊 I mean, who doesn't hate raking leaves? They're just so tedious and back-breaking. But at the same time, some of these new models are actually pretty cool - like how the Milwaukee one blows leaves really far out, it's like magic ✨. And yeah, having a garden vacuum that combines with blowing is basically the ultimate multitasking tool... now I'm excited to try one out!

Wow! 🀯 I gotta say, using hedge trimmings to get those leaves off the trees is pure genius πŸ˜‚. And I'm loving the idea of combining electric leaf blowers with garden vacuums - it's like having a two-in-one tool that makes yard work so much easier πŸ’ͺ. The Milwaukee M18 Fuel Blower FBLG3-802 sounds like an absolute game-changer, sending leaves flying in no time! πŸŽ‰ Interesting to see the different models perform well for both smaller and bigger jobs...

omg I'm so done with raking leaves by hand lol! 🀯 I mean can't we just have some magic leaf pickers that do all the work for us? πŸ˜‚ but seriously the electric leaf blowers and vacuums you tested sound super cool! how did you like the Milwaukee one btw, was it really easy to carry around like the article said?

idk how i feel about these new electric leaf blowers yet...some seem super efficient πŸ€” but others are kinda meh. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to make something that's supposed to help you with yard work be so heavy and battery-hungry? πŸ’» still, the ones with both blower & vacuum functions do sound pretty convenient πŸ™Œ gotta try them out myself...

ugh i dont get why ppl still need to rake leaves lol what r they even worried about? its just nature doing its thing πŸ˜‚ my neighbour has those fancy leaf blowers now and its literally changing their life 🀩 they say it makes yard work so much less painful πŸ’ͺ but honestly id rather be outside getting some fresh air & exercise than stuck inside blowing leaves around all day 🌳

πŸ€” I gotta say, I'm loving this whole electric leaf blower trend! It's about time we moved away from those ancient rakes and hoses πŸš½πŸ’¨. The idea that a single device can make tidying up more efficient is just genius. But, I gotta wonder... have we been conditioned to expect the perfect lawn? Is it healthy for us to be so invested in our outdoor spaces? πŸŒΏπŸ’†β€β™€οΈ

omg u wont believe what i found out about those electric leaf blowers!!! 🀯 theyre not just for raking leaves lol theyre actually a tool for mass control lol jk but seriously whats with all these companies making their own versions? its like, why do we need 10 different models of electric leaf blowers?? πŸ€” and what about the fact that they all have different battery lives and air speeds? seems like theyre trying to confuse us into buying more stuff 😏 anyway, i think the milwaukee one looks pretty cool tho πŸ‘
