Conor Gallagher transfer news: Tottenham agree deal for midfielder amid Aston Villa interest

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £34m deal with Conor Gallagher, addressing their midfield shortage following Rodrigo Bentancur's hamstring injury. The English midfielder had been touted as a potential target by Aston Villa as well, but talks are now centered around Spurs.

Spurs have long been admirers of Gallagher, who joined Atletico Madrid in August 2024 for approximately £38m. His transfer from the Spanish club is set to be completed, and he will sign a new contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2029.

Gallagher, 25, boasts extensive experience in the Premier League, having made 136 appearances for West Brom, Crystal Palace, and Chelsea prior to joining Atletico Madrid.

So I was watching this match between Manchester United and Liverpool last week 🏟️, and man what a game it was! The drama, the excitement, the goals... I'm still on the edge of my seat thinking about it 😅. Anyway, back to Spurs and Gallagher, gotta say I'm excited for them 🤩. They've been struggling in midfield since Bentancur went down with that hamstring injury, so this move is just what they needed 💪. I mean, 25 and already making 136 appearances in the Premier League? That's impressive! 👏 Not to mention he's got experience playing for some big clubs like Chelsea and Atletico Madrid... Spurs are lucky to have him 🙌.

man I think this is a great signing for Spurs! they've been missing that midfielder who can control the tempo of the game and Gallagher seems like the perfect fit 🤩. i mean he's got loads of experience under his belt too, played for some big clubs before joining Atletico Madrid 🏆. it's good to see Spurs are moving fast on signing him, now they just need to make sure Rodrigo's injury doesn't keep him out for too long 👍

omg, got my eye on spurs now 🤯🏆. they've been searching for a solid midfielder for ages, and gallagher seems like the perfect fit 😌. i mean, 25 is still young, so he's got plenty of football left in him 💪. his experience in the prem is super valuable too - that's gotta count for something 🤔.

i'm loving this move by spurs, too. £34m is a pretty sweet deal 🤑. and to think they were considering other options... well, glad it all worked out 💯. now let's see how gallagher slots in with the squad 👥. should be interesting to watch 🔍.

anyway, can't wait for the new season to kick off ⚽️! spurs fans are gonna have a field day 🎉😄.

omg did u no spurs were goin thru a midfield crisis w/ bentancur injurd 😩 but now theyve signed conor gallagher 4 £34m!! hes been a target 4 spurs 4 ages & its great 2 see him join the squad 🤞 i think hes gonna be a game changer 👏 he's got loads of exp in the premier league w/ west brom, crystal palace, & chelsea 4 like 136 apps! 💪 now lets hope hes can stay fit & lead spurs 2 more titles 🏆

Ugh, Spurs have finally done something right 🙄. I mean, it's about time they addressed that midfield shortage. And Conor Gallagher is a great signing, no question. He's got loads of experience in the Premier League and has already proven himself at some top clubs. But what really gets me is how this deal was made possible with Tottenham having to buy him back from Atletico Madrid. I mean, who wants to hold onto a player for another £4m? It feels like Spurs are just trying to keep Gallagher under their wing instead of letting him shine elsewhere 🤔.

I'm not gonna lie, it's a bit weird that he was even available again after signing with Atletico. But hey, I guess Tottenham has some serious pull in the transfer market now 😐. Still, let's see how this deal pans out and if Gallagher can help Spurs become a more formidable team 🔥.

Think about this - a team's squad is like our lives, isn't it? We all have our weaknesses and injuries that can change the game. Tottenham needed someone to fill the gap in midfield, just like we need to find that spark within ourselves to overcome life's challenges. Conor Gallagher seems like just the person to do that. He's been around the block a few times, played for some big clubs, but now he's looking to make a new home at Spurs. It's funny how these things work out, isn't it? We all search for our place in the world, and sometimes we need someone (or something) external to fill that void 😊.

Just read that Tottenham Hotspur have landed Conor Gallagher on a decent deal 🤩. I think this is a savvy move by the North Londoners, considering their midfield woes after Rodrigo Bentancur's hamstring injury 👍. Gallagher has shown promise in his previous stints, and it'll be interesting to see how he integrates with Spurs' squad 💡. The fact that Aston Villa were also keen on him suggests he's got some serious skill up his sleeve 🤓. With a new contract until 2029, I'm hoping Tottenham can get the most out of him during this period 🕒. Not sure if £34m is the right price tag, but it's a solid investment for Spurs 👌.

🤔 just great another £34m splashed around thePrem... Spurs need a solid midfield unit, but is this really the right deal? 🤑 I mean, Gallagher's got experience, but £34m seems steep for a player who was previously wanted by Villa too 🚫. And what about Atletico Madrid not being able to keep him long enough? It feels like Spurs are making up for the loss of Bentancur, rather than addressing their midfield woes...

just saw this news about conor gallagher joining spurs and i gotta say i'm kinda surprised 😊 they were after him pretty badly last summer when he joined atletico but now that rodrigo bentancur is out with a hamstring injury, i think it's a great signing for them 👍 34m is a decent price tag too, seems like spurs are getting some good value for their money 💸 Gallagher's got loads of experience in the premier league already and he's only 25 so i think he's got plenty of upside 🚀 would love to see him play alongside hudson-odell and son 🔥

omg i cant believe we're finally getting that midfielder we needed last season 🤯🔥 34m is a steal considering his experience and skills he's been playing in spain but will probably have to adjust to england's game style tho 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿💪

I'm so excited about this transfer news! I've been following Conor Gallagher's career since he played for Chelsea, and I think he'll be a great addition to Spurs 🤩. They really needed some quality midfielders after Rodrigo went down with that hamstring injury. And 34 million quid is a steal if you ask me 💸. He's got so much experience in the Premier League, having played for some big clubs like West Brom and Crystal Palace. I'm loving this new contract he's getting too - it's nice to see Spurs investing in their youth 🙌. Now we just gotta hope he can stay fit and healthy... that hamstring injury was a real bummer 😔.

🤔 I'm loving this move by Spurs! They've been struggling to fill that midfield gap since Rodrigo's injury, and now they've got a solid solution with Conor Gallagher 💪. The lad's got the experience and skills to make an impact in the Premier League. He was also a hot target for Villa, so I think Spurs have gotten a good deal 🤑. The fact that he's signing on till 2029 is a big plus too - they'll be able to build around him for years to come 🔥. Not sure what Atletico Madrid thought they were getting when they signed him in August though... £38m for Gallagher, then £34m just a few months later? 🤑 Guess you could say Spurs 'won' the transfer 😏

Man, it's crazy how fast these transfer deals happen 🤑. Like, just last year Conor Gallagher was playing for Chelsea and now he's about to be a part of Tottenham Hotspur 🌆. I mean, I'm excited for Spurs fans, they've been missing a solid midfielder since Bentancur went down with that hamstring injury. But at the same time, it's weird how fast £34m seems to buy someone these days 💸. Is it just me or has the Premier League become one big money transfer market? 🤔

I think Spurs are getting a bit too comfortable with splurging big bucks on players. £34m for Conor Gallagher seems like a lot, especially considering his transfer from Atletico Madrid was only £38m last August 🤑. Are they seriously trying to set a new benchmark for midfield signings? I'm not convinced this is the best use of their resources...
