Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £34m deal with Conor Gallagher, addressing their midfield shortage following Rodrigo Bentancur's hamstring injury. The English midfielder had been touted as a potential target by Aston Villa as well, but talks are now centered around Spurs.
Spurs have long been admirers of Gallagher, who joined Atletico Madrid in August 2024 for approximately £38m. His transfer from the Spanish club is set to be completed, and he will sign a new contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2029.

He's got loads of experience in the Premier League and has already proven himself at some top clubs. But what really gets me is how this deal was made possible with Tottenham having to buy him back from Atletico Madrid. I mean, who wants to hold onto a player for another £4m? It feels like Spurs are just trying to keep Gallagher under their wing instead of letting him shine elsewhere

Gallagher's got loads of experience in the premier league already and he's only 25 so i think he's got plenty of upside
