Daniel Farke: Man City 'bend rules' says Leeds United manager

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was left frustrated after a stoppage-time goal from Phil Foden condemned his team to a 2-1 defeat at home to Leeds United, with the visitors' second-half revival suggesting they are capable of climbing back up the Premier League table.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke has come under criticism for a lack of adventure in certain areas of play but he was almost rewarded after changing tactics and formation at halftime that almost reversed their fortunes. After a change of strategy, Leeds rallied with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring immediately after the restart.

The goal gave Leeds hope, and manager Daniel Farke said Gianluigi Donnarumma's apparent injury was "within the rules". "It is not the elephant in the room," Farke said. "It looks like a massive turning point in Leeds' season." However, City found some brilliance to get away with one this afternoon.

The defeat means Manchester City are now five points off the top of the Premier League table after back-to-back losses.

I'm tellin' ya, that stoppage-time goal from Phil Foden was a real dagger to the heart for City 😱. They've been dominatin' like there's no tomorrow, but Leeds gave 'em a run for their money. I mean, you can't fault the visitors for adaptin' and changin' things up at halftime - it shows they're willin' to think outside the box. And that Donnarumma injury drama? Yeah, it's a bit sketchy, even if Farke says it was "within the rules" πŸ€”. It just highlights how unpredictable this league is, and how one moment can change the momentum of a match. City needs to regroup and refocus - they're lookin' a bit shaky at the moment ⚽️.

Man oh man... Pep's team is really struggling right now πŸ€•. They've got so much talent on paper, but somehow they can't get it together when it matters most. Foden scoring in stoppage time is just crazy luck πŸ˜‚. You've got to give it to Leeds though, they showed some real grit and determination after that halftime change. I'm loving their underdog vibe πŸ’ͺ. And Farke's not being too hard on himself either, which is nice to see πŸ™. The bigger question is what's going on with Pep? Is he getting a bit too comfortable at the top? Shouldn't be, but you never know πŸ˜’. Can City get their mojo back and take some points off United soon?

πŸ˜’ Pep Guardiola must be soooo frustrated right now 🀯 his team just threw it away at home... what's going on with Phil Foden, that stoppage-time goal was a total fluke ⏰! Leeds United is giving City some major headaches and they can't even get their own strategy straight πŸ’ Daniel Farke got some flak for changing tactics mid-game, but I think he might be onto something πŸ”„... and Gianluigi Donnarumma's injury claim? πŸ˜’ totally unimpressed πŸ™„ Manchester City is definitely feeling the pressure now 🀯 five points off the top spot after two losses in a row, they need to get their act together ASAP πŸ”₯

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Pep Guardiola's face 😬 was a sight to behold when that stoppage-time goal went in! Foden's strike was absolute madness - who expects that from Phil? Leeds totally deserved their win, they really showed some fight and determination. Farke got his tactics right at halftime, big credit to him for making those changes.

I don't think Donnarumma's injury claim πŸ™„ is doing much to help City's case either... all the talk was about what happened on the pitch, not off it! πŸ˜’ Leeds are looking like a dark horse now, can't rule them out. This defeat does hurt their title hopes though.

Five points behind top spot now... City need to get back on track ASAP! πŸ’ͺ

ugh man pep g's team is literally the definition of inconsistent right now 🀯 they can't even be bothered to defend properly and then suddenly find a way to win? like what's going on with that? πŸ™„ also i'm starting to think that donnarumma's injury was, you know, NOT within the rules 😏 but whatever city fans will just have to deal with it for now. can't say i'm surprised tho, leeds were always gonna be a tricky opponent. still, 5 points off the top is like, woah 🀯 maybe pep should try something new or something πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

just watched this match lol what a turn around for leeds they were getting thrashed at halftime and then suddenly come from nowhere. don't get me wrong manchester city looked super sloppy with all that defending they did but i think leeds got some luck on their side with that stoppage time goal i mean who gets off scotfree after a possible foul? anyway, leeds are back in the race now and im curious to see how this season unfolds

omg man that stoppage time goal from phil foden is just wild 😲 i mean pep guardiola must be literally dying inside right now πŸ€• his team had it in the bag and then leeds comes out of nowhere to snatch a win πŸ’₯ dan farke should get some major props for switching up his tactics at halftime tho πŸ‘ that goal from calvert-lewin was insane ⚽️ i'm not saying donnarumma didn't do something wrong but come on gianluigi πŸ™„ anyway can't wait to see how city bounces back from this one πŸ’ͺ

man... Pep's gonna have a tough time motivating his team after that 1-0 loss at home 😩. I think Leeds gave them a run for their money, especially in the second half. They showed they can compete with the big boys πŸ’ͺ. Farke's tactics changes were spot on and it's not fair to say he was all out of ideas πŸ€”. Donnarumma's injury might've had an impact, but that doesn't change the fact that Leeds scored a legit goal ⚽️. City's in a tough spot now, but I still think they'll manage to stay on top πŸ”’... for now πŸ˜…

omg i was so bummerd 4 mncity lol they had that goal but it wasnt meant 2 be πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ phil foden is like a genius on the field tho πŸ™Œ how does he do it every time?? anyway back 2 leeds, i think daniel farke did sumthin rite changin tactics and formation at halftime seemed 2 work πŸ€” but yeah mncity got lucky too, don't think we shd be blaming gazzaniga lol πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ city's in a tough spot now w/ 5 points off the top lol guess u gotta stay focused 😬

I feel like Pep Guardiola needs to rethink his team's approach πŸ€”. They were getting thrashed 2-0 and then suddenly come from behind to win? It just doesn't add up... πŸ’₯

And omg, that stoppage-time goal by Phil Foden is CRAZY! 😲 I was on the edge of my seat when it happened!

I think Leeds are definitely a dark horse in the Premier League right now 🐎. They changed their tactics at halftime and it paid off big time. It's like they're saying, "Hey, we can adapt and still give a good fight!" πŸ’ͺ

The real question is though, how did Gianluigi Donnarumma not get booked for that injury? πŸ˜‚ was he just lucky or what?!

man pep guardiola must be goin crazy! that stoppage time goal from foden is like a gift from god lol 🀣 how did city not see that coming? leeds were down and out, but then they changed it up at halftime and suddenly they're on top of the game... farke's got to get some credit for that tactical shift πŸ’‘

and don't even get me started on donnarumma's 'injury' πŸ€” i mean come on man, you can't just claim an injury to avoid a red card? poor city, they really need to sort out their defense 😳

What a perfect day for Pep Guardiola's hair – completely ruined by that ridiculous stoppage-time goal from Foden πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ’‡β€β™‚οΈ! I mean, come on, Leeds basically robbed them blind. That second-half turnaround was like watching a different team out there 😲. And don't even get me started on Donnarumma's "injury" – yeah right, it looked more like he just couldn't be bothered to get back on 🀣. Farke's got some guts trying to spin that one, but let's be real, it was a dodgy call πŸ‘€. Still, Leeds' revival shows they're not out of the woods yet – we might see them make a push for Europe after all ⏰! City's losses do put them in an interesting spot, though πŸ€”...

This is getting crazy! Pep Guardiola's frustration says it all - a manager's got to be on edge when his team's not performing like they should be 🀯. But let's talk about the ref's decision, was that an elbow or just a tap? πŸ€” It's clear that Donnarumma's injury was questionable, and if I'm being honest, it looks like a pretty blatant mistake by the officials.

Meanwhile, Farke's tactical changes were a breath of fresh air for Leeds - it's about time they took some risks instead of playing it safe all game πŸ”„. The fact that City could've scored more goals is a concern, though. Are they running out of steam? Can they stay focused on their goal to win the league? It's anyone's game at this point! πŸ”΄

OMG I'm so bummed for Pep and the City squad πŸ€•...I mean, they've been on a roll all season and to have that goal come at the last min just ruined it for them 😩. And can we talk about Leeds for a sec? They totally deserved that win! Their new tactics were super clever and I'm loving their comeback vibes πŸ’ͺ. The ref's decision was pretty sketchy though, especially if Donnarumma really did get hurt πŸ€•...I hope the City guys bounce back from this loss ASAP, they're still one of the strongest teams in the league πŸ’₯.

like what's going on here? pep guardiola is known for being a master tactician but his team just got thrashed by leeds united at home 🀯... i think leeds made some decent changes at halftime and they deserved that win, but let's be real, it was also a bit fortunate, like donnarumma getting hurt right when he did. can't say i'm surprised manchester city aren't winning every game, 5 points off the top is still pretty good tho πŸ€”

omg what just happened 🀯 i was watching this game with my friends and we were all so hyped for city to win but then that last minute goal from foden and we're all like "wait what" 😱 phil foden is a genius! anyway, leeds played really well after the change in strategy at halftime and it's kinda cool that they didn't get in trouble for donnarumma's injury πŸ€” i mean, can you imagine if he got sent off? game over lol. anyway, city are like totally struggling now and i'm not sure what to make of this season... do they have a good shot at winning the league again? πŸ†

I don’t usually comment but I gotta say, that stoppage-time goal from Phil Foden was CRAZY!!! 😱 2-1 is a huge result for Leeds and they're definitely giving City a run for their money this season. I think City were too reliant on Kevin De Bruyne's creativity and didn't create enough chances themselves. Donnarumma's injury did seem like a major turning point in the game, but it's also a shame that Leeds aren't getting more credit for their attacking play - they looked really sharp after halftime! πŸ€”

omg i feel for Pep Guardiola lol he's always so calculated but sometimes u just gotta roll with it and let the other team have their moment πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ, that 2nd half revival was insane! leeds united is defo on the rise now ⬆️, dan farke's tactics changes really paid off. but man city still got some fight left in 'em πŸ’ͺ, they'll bounce back from this one πŸ‘Š
