I'm still wondering why they're making all these changes now 
, like what happened to all the progress made under Obama? 
We already had some good reforms back then and this new batch seems a bit redundant 
. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's about time we make some changes, but can't they prioritize? 
What really gets me is the delay and all these strings attached 
. It's like they're trying to strong-arm Republicans into doing their bidding 
... I'm like totally against these new reforms being proposed by Democrats 
... wait, no I am! 
I mean, can we really trust that they're going to implement all of these changes without just watering down what's actually needed? Like, have you seen the list of 10 reforms? It's a bunch of vague terms like "preventing racial profiling" and "protecting sensitive locations"... how are they even going to define what that means? 
... I'm all for accountability, but if they're not going to use them to track ICE agents' actions, then why bother? It's just a Band-Aid solution. 
It's like my head is spinning just thinking about it

. Like, come on, 10 reforms is not a lot to ask for. And it's about time they cracked down on those ICE agents who are clearly abusing their power. I mean, can you imagine if the police were doing the same thing? The outrage would be immediate 
. But because it's immigrants and minorities, suddenly everyone's like "oh, let's just give them a break" 
. It's not fair to these people who are already going through hell. They need real change, not just empty promises . And another thing, why do the Republicans have to be so stubborn? Can't they see that this is about doing what's right, not just holding onto power? 
. On one hand, it's totally understandable that they want to reform ICE agents' tactics and make them more accountable. I mean, who wouldn't want to see face coverings taken off and body cameras installed? That would definitely help with transparency and trust-building.. Like, requiring verification that someone's not a US citizen before holding them? How does that even work in practice? And what about those provisions aimed at preventing racial profiling? Are they just lip service or are they actually going to be implemented?. The deadline for DHS funding is looming, so there's definitely a sense of urgency here. Let's hope something gets done soon 
. What's next? Are they gonna start making ICE agents wear tie-clips or something ? Seriously though, I think we're just patching up the same old problems without really addressing the root issues of immigration policy. And what about accountability for politicians who are pushing these reforms? Can't they be held accountable too? 
. I mean, have we learned nothing from the past few years? The system is just gonna keep on being broken and then someone else will come along and fix it again

. Are Democrats willing to shell out even more money for these reforms, or is this all just a cheap political stunt?
