Dense fog advisory in place for Delta until Saturday midday – quarter mile visibility

A dense fog advisory has been issued for the Carquinez Strait, Delta, Southern Sacramento Valley, and Northern San Joaquin Valley in California until 2 p.m. on Saturday, with visibility expected to be less than a quarter mile.

Travelers are advised to exercise extreme caution due to the hazardous driving conditions caused by low visibility. To ensure safe travels, experts recommend slowing down, using headlights, and maintaining plenty of distance from other vehicles.

If you must drive in foggy conditions, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Also, make sure your vehicle is visible to others by using low-beam headlights, which also activate your taillights, if available. Avoid high-beam lights as they can create glare, making it more difficult to see ahead.

Maintain a safe following distance, stay in your lane, and avoid sudden stops or shifts in traffic patterns. In extremely dense fog with near-zero visibility, turn on your hazard lights and pull into a safe location such as a parking lot.

In case you cannot find a designated parking area, pull your vehicle as far off the road as possible, deactivate all lights except for hazard flashers, engage the emergency brake, and release the brake pedal to minimize the risk of other drivers colliding with your stationary vehicle. By following these safety tips, you can reduce the risk of accidents and ensure your well-being while navigating through foggy conditions.

🚨💡 Fogs in Cali are always a thing, but honestly, how many times have we been driving around with our lights on like 10 yards away from other cars? 🙃 It's not just about visibility, it's about being aware of the fact that you're part of the traffic jam, and there's another driver out there who's gonna try to pass. So yeah, slow down, be careful, but also, don't assume everyone else is a total newbie like you. 😊

omg u gotta be so careful driving in that dense fog 😱 it's like trying to navigate through a whiteout 🌨️ low visibility is no joke, i remember last winter when i got stuck on the road with hardly any light... was super scary 😨 slow down, use ur headlights, and space out from other cars, trust me, it's better safe than sorry 🙏

🚨 I'm seriously worried about driving in this dense fog on Saturday! 😬 It's not just about being late to work or arriving at your destination, it's literally a matter of life and death. If visibility is less than a quarter mile, you're basically flying blind. My friend's cousin got into an accident last year because his car skidded off the road in foggy conditions... it was horrific! 🙏 Slow down, use your headlights, stay calm, and don't be afraid to pull over if things get too hairy. It's always better to err on the side of caution than to risk losing control of your vehicle. Let's all just take a deep breath and hope for the best... or rather, a safe commute! 😊

Ugh, I'm so over the weather reports on here 🤦‍♂️. Can't we just have a decent thread about tech news or something? Every time it's like this, all anyone wants to talk about is the weather... Fog advisory in Cali? Yeah, no kidding 🌫️. And now I've got to read through a whole page of safety tips for driving in fog... seriously, can't we just Google "driving in fog" on our own? 😒

I'm so tired of having to deal with this forum's layout 🙄. Can't they just make it easier to navigate? Every time I try to post about something other than my favorite TV show, I get lost in the thread and have to scroll back like a million times.

And can we please talk about the Carquinez Strait fog advisory? Ugh, I hate driving in this kind of weather 🚗💨. The visibility is literally zero out there! It's so scary, I don't even want to think about it. Slowing down and using low-beam headlights are good tips, but can we talk about how hard it is to do that when your car is stuck behind a slowpoke 🙄?

I swear, driving in foggy conditions should be a special safety mode or something... "Fog Mode" has a nice ring to it 🤣. Seriously though, these safety tips are super helpful, but can we please just have a more user-friendly forum so I can focus on my thoughts instead of getting bogged down in the comments 😩?

Ugh, great, just what I needed to brighten up my Saturday - a fog advisory that's gonna make me wanna pull my hair out! 🙄 Can't even drive without having to worry about crashing into a tree or getting rear-ended because some guy wasn't paying attention (or his wipers aren't working). Low-beam headlights, really? That's the best they've got? I mean, I guess it's better than being completely blind, but still... 🤷‍♂️ At least make us slow down and use our brain cells to drive in the fog. And yeah, visibility of less than a quarter mile is just peachy - can't even see my own hand in front of my face! 🙃 Safety tips are always appreciated, I guess, but it's just so... California 😒

🚨 Oh no! I'm so worried about all those people driving in this crazy fog 😩. My kids are always asking me to drive them around on weekends, but on days like today, I would totally say no 🙅‍♀️. Can you imagine trying to navigate through roads that are literally invisible? It's terrifying just thinking about it 😨. As a parent, my priority is the safety of my little ones, and I wouldn't want them to get into an accident on a day like today 🤕. Maybe everyone should just take a deep breath and stay off the roads until the fog clears up ⏰? Safety first, always! 💯

🚨😬 this is so scary on the road during foggy days gotta be super careful or it could go very wrong 🤯 just had to slow down on my way to meet friends last week and visibility was like almost zero 👀 had to pull over and wait for a bit before continuing 💨

Ugh, people are gonna lose it in this crazy fog 😩! I'm not even driving in those areas but my friends who do have to deal with this stuff are already freaking out 🚨. They need to slow down and use their common sense, not just follow the rules, you know? 🤔 It's not like they're gonna get there faster if they drive like maniacs 😂. And what's up with the low-beam thing? Like, who doesn't know that's a no-brainer? 🙄 Anyway, to all my fog-buggy friends out there, please be careful and don't risk your lives for the sake of getting to your destination on time ⏱️. It's not worth it 💯.

omg u guys! this dense fog advisory is getting serious 🌀💨 i was planning on driving to my fave coffee spot in the morning and now im gonna have to find a way around it or postpone till sunday 🤦‍♀️ anyway, slow down and be extra careful when driving thru foggy conditions, duh! its not worth risking ur life just to get to work or wherever u need to go 😒 plus, make sure ur vehicle is all lit up with low-beam headlights so other ppl can see u comin 🚨 and dont even think about usin high-beams or turn signals, that's just askin 4 trouble 😂

Ugh, I hate driving in this stuff 🤯! Fog is so disorienting, it's like the whole world has turned into a blurry mess. Slow down, turn on those hazard lights, and for goodness sake, don't be afraid to pull over if you can't see where you're going 😅. It's just not worth risking your life or someone else's by driving in conditions that are basically invisible. I remember when my kids were young, we had a few close calls like this, and it was terrifying. But yeah, these safety tips are spot on – if you can't see anything, stop and wait for the sun to come out (or at least until someone else is brave enough to drive through it) 🌞🚗

😬 I don't know about anyone else but driving in fog is like, super stressful. You gotta be so slow and careful or it's gonna be a nightmare. I mean, who wants to spend their Saturday stuck on the side of the road with no visibility? 🤯 It's not just that you can't see where you're going, but also other drivers might not be able to see you too. So yeah, taking all these precautions is pretty much a must if you're gonna drive in those conditions. I'm actually planning on staying home today instead of venturing out into the foggy mess 🏠💨

Ugh, it's like they're bringing back the days of driving in the fog all the time... back in my day we didn't have all these fancy warnings and whatnot, we just knew to slow down and use our instincts 😩. I remember driving on the Bay Bridge during a thick fog bank and having to rely on my trusty GPS to get me through it. Nowadays they're telling you to turn on your hazard lights like you're in a movie or something 🌃. Can't we just go back to the old days of driving by feel? I swear, everything is so much more complicated now...

Ugh, I'm so annoyed that they're only giving us a 2 p.m. warning for this fog advisory... like, how long did it take them to realize we need more time to adjust our routes? 🙄 And can't they just give us some actual visibility numbers or something instead of "less than a quarter mile"? That's super vague and kinda creepy. I'm low-key freaking out about driving home from work today... is there even such a thing as fog-free highways in Cali anymore? 😩

Foggy days are like my aunt's gossip sessions - they're all over the place and hard to navigate 😂! But seriously, who wants to drive in a pea soup? Slow down, use those headlights like they're talking to you (even if it's just your car's GPS), and don't be a fog-bound fool by keeping too much distance from others. And remember, if you're lost in the mist, pull over and take a deep breath - or a nap, we won't judge 😴. Just keep those hazard lights on like a beacon saying, "I'm here, I'm visible, don't crash into me!" 🚨

🚗💡 The Carquinez Strait area is getting slammed with dense fog again, isn't it? As we all know, reduced visibility poses significant risks to road safety 🤯. In situations like these, I think it's crucial to adopt a more cautious approach while driving in the fog 🕰️. Slowing down and allowing extra time to reach your destination is definitely the way to go ⏱️. Also, using low-beam headlights can help ensure visibility for both you and other drivers on the road 💡. However, I do think it's worth noting that emergency services might be stretched thin during these types of weather conditions 🚨. Let's all just exercise some extra caution out there and prioritize our safety above all else 😊.

🌫️ oh no! a dense fog advisory in california 🤕 gotta be super careful out there! slowing down is key, use those headlights and keep some space between u & other cars 😬 i mean, it's always better 2 err on the side of caution. if u must drive, just take ur time & enjoy the eerie foggy vibes 🌫️👍
