Disney announces Josh D’Amaro will be its new CEO after Iger departs

In a move that marks a new chapter for the entertainment behemoth, Disney has officially announced its next CEO: Josh D'Amaro. As of March, the former chairman of Disney Experiences will assume the top spot in a unanimous decision by the company's board of directors.

D'Amaro, who has spent 28 years at Disney, brings extensive experience across various divisions, including theme parks, cruises, consumer products, and video games. Notably, he replaces Bob Iger, who stepped down as CEO earlier this year following a tumultuous tenure that saw the company face significant challenges.

In 2020, Disney had previously appointed Bob Chapek as its successor to Iger, but his tenure lasted only until 2022, when Iger returned to lead the company. Subsequently, a search committee was formed in 2023, with Iger serving as a mentor to potential candidates. D'Amaro's appointment marks a decisive shift in leadership at Disney.

During his time at the helm, Iger oversaw several significant moves, including the launch of Disney+, the acquisition of Hulu, and the purchase of 20th Century Fox's film and television studios. As part of his transition out of CEO duties, Iger will continue to serve on the board as a senior advisor until the end of this year.

With D'Amaro at the helm, Disney is poised to navigate the ever-changing entertainment landscape with a seasoned veteran at the wheel. The appointment brings an air of stability and continuity, as D'Amaro is well-positioned to build on Iger's legacy while driving innovation and growth in the company's various divisions.

OH MY GOSH, I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT JOSH D'AMARO BECOMING THE NEW CEO OF DISNEY!!! 🎉 HE'S BEEN WITH THE COMPANY FOR 28 YEARS AND BRINGS SO MUCH EXPERIENCE TO THE TABLE, IT'S LIKE, WOAH! 💥 i mean, the guy's been all over the place - theme parks, cruises, consumer products, and video games... he's like a superhero of Disney! 🦸‍♂️ AND LET'S BE REAL, IGER WAS A BIT OF A WILD CARD, BUT D'AMARO SEEMS LIKE THE PERFECT FOLK TO STEADY THE SHIP AND KEEP DISNEY ON TRACK. 😎 i'm all about that stability and continuity right now! 💯

so disney's new CEO is josh d'amaro... that's pretty cool i guess 🤔 he's been with the company for like 28 years, so i think he knows what he's doing. not having a super tumultuous tenure like bob igers was definitely a plus, especially since they searched for someone else before him 🙏 but anyway, d'amaro seems like a solid pick to take over. disney's got some big shoes to fill, especially with all the changes that happened under igers... but hey, at least he's not trying anything too crazy out of the gate 😊

so disney just officially got a new CEO! 😎 josh d'amaro's been with the company for 28 yrs, so he knows what's up! 🤯 he'll be taking over from bob iger, who had a pretty crazy run as ceo. 👑 iger's been around since 2005 and led some big changes like launching disney+ and buying fox's studios. 💥 now it's d'amaro's turn to steer the ship! 🚣‍♀️ he seems like a solid choice, 'cause he's got experience in all areas of the company. 👍 hopefully he can bring stability after iger's tumultuous time. 🔒

Omg can u believe Josh D'Amaro is dis new CEO?? 😱 he's been at Disney 4eva! i wonder wut changes r gonna happen now, esp wiv all the tech stuff Disney just acquired...like Hulu & Disney+. hows d'Amaro gonna make it work? 🤔 also, i'm sad Bob Iger is gone, but glad he gets 2 b a senior advisor on the board still...that's pretty cool. 💡 what do u think wut new things r gonna happen under D'Amaro's leadership? 🎉💥

aww man, i'm feeling kinda down today 🤕 but hearing about josh d'amaro taking over at disney makes me feel a little better 😊 he seems like such an experienced guy, all those years at disney have got him covered 💪 and with bob iger stepping down after all the challenges they faced together 🤝 it's clear that they're gonna do great things with d'amaro at the wheel 💨 i'm excited to see what new stuff he's gonna bring to the table! 🎉

🤔 just wondering if 28 years is a bit too much for one person, feels like they're stuck in a time loop 🕰️ anyway, super interesting move by Disney, hope Josh D'Amaro brings some fresh ideas to the table 💡 and stability after that tumultuous period under Bob Iger's leadership 👍

I think it's a bold move by Disney to appoint Josh D'Amaro as their new CEO, considering his extensive experience across different departments 🤔. He definitely fills the void left by Bob Iger's departure and brings a sense of stability to the company 💼. With 28 years at Disney under his belt, he knows the inner workings of the company like the back of his hand 🔍. His appointment also marks an interesting shift in leadership style, as it seems they're opting for continuity over radical change 🔄. I'm curious to see how he'll build on Bob Iger's legacy and drive innovation in the various divisions 👀. Overall, it's a smart move that sets Disney up for success in this ever-changing entertainment landscape 😊.

🎉 so like, what's up with disney right now? they're gonna be just fine under d'amaro i'm sure he's got all the experience needed to keep things running smoothly after bob iger stepped down i mean we know how much work went into getting disney+ off the ground and acing those other big deals so now it's time for someone to take the reins and lead em forward with some stability & innovation 🚀

🤔 I think it's kinda cool that Josh D'Amaro is taking over at Disney. He's been with the company for ages, so he knows their ins and outs pretty well. Plus, it's a change of pace from the drama we saw when Bob Chapek left. I mean, we can't blame him for trying, but sometimes things just don't work out. D'Amaro's got experience in all sorts of areas, so hopefully he'll be able to bring some stability and innovation to the company. And who knows, maybe we'll even see some new Disney projects come out? 😄

🤔 just wondering if disney needs someone new with some fresh ideas tho theyve had bob iger for like what 15 years already 🤯 and now josh da maro is taking over its gonna be interesting to see how he shakes things up 👀

D'Amaro seems like a solid pick for Disney 🤔. He's been around the block enough times to know how to handle all the different departments, and it's good that he gets to stay put after Chapek didn't quite cut it 👎. Iger did some great stuff during his time as CEO, but sometimes you gotta let someone new come in with fresh eyes 🌞. D'Amaro's got a lot of experience under his belt, so fingers crossed he can keep Disney on track and build on all the good work Iger started 💪.

ugh i'm low-key disappointed 🤔 they're not gonna shake things up under d'amaro... 28 years at disney is a lot of time, gotta wonder if he's got some new tricks up his sleeve or it's just more of the same 💼👀 but hey, stability and continuity can be good things too, right? 🤷‍♀️ maybe we'll get to see some changes in consumer products or video games now that d'amaro's at the helm 👎

🤩 OMG yaaas! finally a new CEO for Disney!! Josh D'Amaro seems like a total legend, 28 yrs at disney!!! he's got experience in all areas - theme parks, cruises, merchandising... i mean who else can say they've done it all? 🤓 he's gonna bring stability and continuity after that drama with Bob Iger... i'm low-key hyped to see what new things disney comes up with under his leadership 🎢👑

Disney just found itself a new big cheese 🤔👍. Honestly, 28 years at Disney? That's like me getting stuck in a loop of the same old memes for that long 😂. But seriously, Josh D'Amaro's got some serious clout under his belt - theme parks, cruises, consumer products... I'm thinking this dude knows what he's doing 🎢. And let's be real, Bob Chapek wasn't exactly lit 🔥 as CEO before him, so this is kinda a breath of fresh air 💨. D'Amaro's got some big shoes to fill after Iger's legacy, but with Disney+, Hulu, and 20th Century Fox under his belt... I'm low-key hyped for what he's gonna bring to the table 🎉👏

D'Amaro's got some big shoes to fill, but hey, 28 years at Disney is like, a whole lifetime of mouse ears wear 😂! Seriously though, it's good to see stability after all that drama with Iger stepping down for the second time 🤯. I'm curious if D'Amaro will focus on bringing back some classic Disney magic or if he'll be all about the new stuff, like Marvel and Star Wars movies 🚀. Either way, I'm sure it'll be a wild ride! And on a lighter note, who needs a new CEO when you've got Mickey Mouse holding the reins? 🐭💪

think damaro's got some big shoes to fill, considering igers done some pretty wild stuff during his time at disney... but i guess stability's key now, especially with streaming services like netflix and amazon throwing down some serious competition 📺💸 i mean, it'll be interesting to see how disney adapts its strategy to stay ahead of the game. also, 28 years is a long time to be at one company, so gotta wonder what's driving him to make this move now 🤔

idk what people will think about this new CEO... some might say he's a safe choice 🤔 but others might think it's time for change? i'm kinda curious how d'amaro will navigate the different parts of the company, esp with disney+ and hulu still trying to figure out their stuff 😊. anyone have thoughts on what you want to see from disney in the next few years?

omg u guys i'm telling u now disney is playin a masterclass game of chess with dis new CEO Josh D'Amaro they just took out bob iger after he was already doin a good job for like 2 years mind u they had chapek as his successor but that didnt work out & now dey gotta go back 2 sq1uare & try again w/ d'amaro who's basically iger in training lol i no its not just abt the money tho dey got a lot of power & influence @ their disposal u gotta wonder whos pullin the strings behind these moves
