According to a heartfelt letter from the fifth-generation owners, the decision to retire and close was not taken lightly, but ultimately came as a result of their desire to focus on family health and well-being. The Dittrich family has built a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, personalized service, and commitment to quality, all of which will undoubtedly be missed by loyal customers.

As part of the closure process, the company is hosting a massive liquidation sale at its New Center location, offering an incredible 70% off on over 3,000 fashions valued at $9 million. For now, however, it's time to say goodbye to a piece of Detroit's rich cultural heritage and cherish the memories made within those iconic walls. I'm sad to see Dittrich Furs go, but it's also kinda awesome that they're closing on such an amazing note 🙌! 132 years is no joke, and I'm sure they've got some epic memories to look back on. That liquidation sale sounds like a total steal - who wouldn't want to snag some fancy fur coats at 70% off? 😂 The Dittrich family's commitment to quality and craftsmanship is something we can all learn from. And even though the store itself is closing, I'm sure their legacy will live on in Detroit's fashion scene forever 💖.

ugh i'm literally heartbroken to hear that dittrich furs is closing 🤕 it's like a part of detroit's soul is leaving us... i mean i know they're doing this for family health and wellness and all that, but still... 132 years is a looong time to be around and it feels so sad to see them go 😔

i remember my grandma used to take me to dittrich furs when i was little and she'd get the most gorgeous coats and hats and scarves... it was like stepping into a whole different world 🌐 and now it's just not gonna be that same anymore...

anyway, 70% off on all their stuff is pretty cool tho 😎 i mean who wouldn't want to snag some fancy fur clothes at half the price? but seriously, it's gonna be super sad to see them go... they've been such a big part of detroit's style scene for so long 🙏

.. it's sad to see a piece of Detroit's history go quiet like that 🤕. Dittrich Furs was always known for being super classy and luxurious, and it's crazy they're closing down after 132 years 🤯. I mean, I know the family's got some health issues going on, but it still feels like a big loss for the city's fashion scene 💔. Those liquidation sales are gonna be insane though - can't wait to snag some of those gorgeous furs and natural materials at a steal 😂. It's bittersweet thinking about saying goodbye to something that's been around for so long, but I guess it's also kinda exciting to see what the future holds for Detroit's fashion scene 🎉.

idk about this - i mean, it's a shame that detroit's lost its fashion icon, but at the same time, dittrich furs has been around for like 132 years and it's crazy how long they've been able to keep it going 🤑...but on the other hand, who needs all those fur coats and accessories when the planet is literally burning? 🌎...and another thing, i feel bad that the family had to close it down due to health issues, but at the same time, can't they just start a new business somewhere else instead of shutting down completely? 🤷‍♀️...i guess what i'm trying to say is that detroit's gonna be okay without dittrich furs - and also kinda not. 😂

ugh 🙅‍♂️ this is a total shame! dittrich furs was always so fancy and exclusive, i mean who else can pull off wearing fur at their age? 😂 anyway i'm lowkey sad that they're closing down... it's not the same without those high-end suits and coats. i remember going to their store with my grandma when i was a kid and she would always say "you look so smart in that suit" lol good times.

i guess its better than them just selling off all their stuff online, that would be such a waste 🚮. at least they're having this big sale so people can still get some of those fancy pieces. anyone planning on checking it out?

🤔 I'm literally heartbroken when I heard about Dittrich Furs closing 🙅‍♂️ I mean, who doesn't love a good fur coat or accessories? As a student, I've seen so many friends and classmates rocking those iconic pieces 👕👖 It's like, how will we get our hands on that super soft mink coat now? 😩 And don't even get me started on the prices – $9 million is crazy 💸 I remember my grandma taking me to Dittrich Furs when I was younger and trying on all these gorgeous outfits 🌹 It's going to be so sad to see those iconic stores close down, but at least they're having a massive liquidation sale, right? 😅 Can't wait to snag some affordable goodies for school! 👗

Wow 😱 132 years is like, wow! I mean, you don't see that kinda thing happening much anymore... especially with a company that's all about the quality and craftsmanship. It's sad to hear it's closing but at least they're going out on a high note with this massive sale 🛍️

man i'm so saddened to hear that dittrich furs is closing after 132 years thats like forever in fashion years they've been around since my parents were kids i remember going with them to detroit and buying these amazing coats and hats from there now those places are just a memory but what's even sadder is that it'll never be the same again we're gonna miss that personalized service and quality craftsmanship so much 💔

Umm, I'm kinda sad about Dittrich Furs closing down 🤔... but at the same time, I don't know how many more fur places can exist? Like, we're already seeing a shift towards sustainable fashion and vegan alternatives, so maybe it's time for the industry to move on 🌱. The 70% off sale is gonna be crazy tho! 💸 But, honestly, I'm kinda torn about all this... did they really have to close down? Couldn't they've found a way to keep going while still prioritizing their family health and well-being? 🤷‍♀️ On the other hand, maybe this is an opportunity for new designers to come in and bring some fresh vibes to Detroit's fashion scene? 🌈 I guess only time will tell...

.. 132 years is just crazy 🤯! I mean, think about all the Detroiters who've grown up with Dittrich Furs, got married, had kids, and passed down their favorite coats to them... it's like a part of the city's DNA 💕. The thought that those family heirlooms are now gonna be sold off at a massive discount is just wild 🤑. It's bittersweet, you know? I'm sad to see it go, but also stoked for the sale prices 😆. Can't wait to check out the liquidation sale and snag some sweet deals! 👍

its sad to see ditrich furs go 🤕 i remember going there with my grandma when i was a kid, she'd always get her fur coats custom-made from them and it was such a special experience. i think they're selling the whole thing off for 70% off? that's crazy! i wish someone would buy the company and keep the legacy alive, but i guess thats just not meant to be 🙏. anyway, its gonna be hard to see those iconic storefronts empty, but i'm sure their stuff will still be super collectible in a few years ⏰

aww man whats going on with dittrich furs 🤔 i mean i know its been around forever but 132 years is still crazy 😱 what happened to it didnt they sell or something? why did they close down for good? i feel bad for the family tho 💕 my grandma used to love shopping at their stores back in the day lol how could they get rid of all that beautiful fur stuff? 🤷‍♀️ 70% off tho? thats a pretty sweet deal 🤑 im gonna have to check it out maybe ill find some old designer coats 😂

this is a classic case of economic deregulation gone wrong 🤦‍♂️ I mean think about it, 132 years of success and now it's just gonna shut down because of 'family health and well-being' sounds like some fancy way of saying they didn't wanna put in the work anymore. what did we learn from this? that if you don't innovate or adapt, even the best-run businesses can fall victim to stagnation 💸

🙅‍♂️ OMG u gotta feel 4 detroit's style scene right now... Dittrich Furs closing after 132 yrs?! 🤯 that's like a fashion museum just disappeared!!! i mean, their fam has built this legacy on quality & craftsmanship, its gonna be hard to find another brand like it 💸 the liquidation sale tho is like a once-in-a-lifetime shopping spree 🛍️ gotta get there ASAP & snag some of those fur coats 👗💁‍♀️ what's next for detroit's style scene tho? only time will tell 🕰️

I don’t usually comment but I just found out about the closure of that old school fur shop in Detroit and it’s kinda sad 🙅‍♂️. I mean, 132 years is a long time and they were always so classy and exclusive. It's like saying goodbye to a part of the city's history 💔. They had the best stuff, you know? The kind of thing you only wear on special occasions or when you want to feel like royalty 👑. Now it's just gonna be a big empty space 🏢. I'm sure they'll sell all their good stuff and make some money but it's not gonna be the same as having them around anymore 😔. It’s weird, I always thought Detroit was all about the cars but now we can say we had a fashion icon too 🚗💃.

🌫️ Man, I'm literally heartbroken when I heard about Dittrich Furs closing down... I mean, 132 years is a bloody long time! I've always had a thing for high-end fashion, and this place was like the holy grail of luxury shopping in Detroit. The thought of those iconic coats and fur-lined jackets being sold off at massive discounts just feels wrong 😔.

For me, it's not just about the clothes – it's about the experience. Dittrich Furs had always been that special place where you could feel like royalty, surrounded by opulence and sophistication. I remember going there as a kid with my grandma, trying on ridiculous outfits that made us both laugh 🤣.

The fact that the owners decided to close down for family reasons is admirable, but it's still hard to accept that something so deeply ingrained in Detroit's culture is gone 💔. Still, I guess that's progress and all that... *sigh* I just hope someone picks up the torch and carries on the legacy of this legendary fashion house 🤞

man that's sad 🤕 detroit will really be missing out on that kind of history and expertise... i mean 132 years is crazy! and 70% off on all furs? thats a steal 😂 i'm gonna keep an eye on the liquidation sale, might have to hit up some local DIY projects with some repurposed fur stuff 🎨💼 anyone know if they're accepting donations for the sale or if it's just straight cash out?

omg, 132 years is crazy!! detroit will never be same without dittrich furs 💀👕 i mean whats next they close the museum of old cars 🚗😱 how do u even survive in this industry with so much competition ?? my grandma used to take me there and get the best fur coats for us 👩🏻🔥 anyone remember those iconic fur hats from 90s tho 😂💁‍♀️

I don’t usually comment but I'm kinda shocked that Dittrich Furs is closing after being around for so long 😔. I mean, 132 years is a huge milestone! It's crazy to think about how many people must've walked in those doors and found their perfect fur coat or accessory 🤯. The fact that they're having this massive liquidation sale is just nuts though - I hope someone snaps up all the amazing pieces before it's too late 💸. As a total non-fashionista, I never got to experience Dittrich Furs myself, but from what I've heard, they were literally legendary 🙌. It's gonna be weird not seeing those iconic storefronts and hearing that familiar sound of fur being styled 😢.
