I'm absolutely loving this slow-burning thriller Down Cemetery Road! Emma Thompson just knocks it out of the park as Zoë Boehm - so sharp, witty, and complex, you can't help but be drawn in. The way she balances that tough exterior with vulnerability is pure magic . And Ruth Wilson is fantastic too, bringing a nice contrast to her character's innocence amidst all the chaos. I love how the show doesn't shy away from dark themes, but still manages to keep it entertaining and unpredictable . With this level of sophistication and pacing, I'm hooked - bring on the next episode!
I mean, Emma Thompson slaying in this show is no surprise, but Ruth Wilson and Tom Riley are giving her some serious competition . The writing is so sharp, I'm surprised they didn't put a dartboard on the side of the screen to keep track of all the twists . And Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb? Iconic . But what really gets me is how well they balanced humor and tension – it's like they took all my anxiety and just...made a TV show out of it . Anyway, if you're a fan of Slow Horses or just great storytelling in general, you gotta check this out .
I'm not sure I'm convinced by this slow-burning thriller thing... I mean, Down Cemetery Road seems like just another example of the 'tortured detective' trope we've seen a million times before . Emma Thompson is always great, but can she really carry an entire series on her own? The plot sounds convoluted enough for me to lose interest halfway through... and what's with all the art restoration and espionage intrigue? Give me something with some real stakes over here
