Ethics adviser investigating new information about Reeves' rental error but Starmer still backs her โ€“ UK politics live

I'm not surprised that Rishi Sunak is keeping his faith in Rachel Reeves ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ. I mean, we've all been there, right? We've all made mistakes (well, maybe not exactly the same kind of mistake, but you get the idea ๐Ÿ˜Š). It's great to hear that they're reopening the inquiry, though - it just shows that they're taking things seriously and wanting to make sure everything is on the level.

And can we talk about how awesome this news is for disability experts? ๐Ÿ™Œ Two new faces leading the review of personal independent payments? That's amazing! I'm so stoked to hear that public money will be spent effectively on supporting disabled people. It's all about giving them the independence and fulfillment they deserve, you know? ๐Ÿ’–

the scandal around rachel reeves just keeps getting juicier ๐Ÿฟ i'm not surprised prime minister sunak hasn't called for her resignation yet, but it's clear he's under pressure from his own party members ๐Ÿ‘€ kemi badenoch is definitely speaking truth to power when she calls for a full investigation and reckons reeves should be sacked if the law was broken ๐Ÿค” meanwhile, labour's handling of the gaza situation has been dodgy at best ๐Ÿšซ boris johnson trying to warn his own party not to bash the green agenda? rich ๐Ÿ˜‚ it's about time we had some real change in government and more transparency on those personal independent payments ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿค” So I'm not surprised No 10 reopened the inquiry into Rachel Reeves' rental licence error... I mean, it's a pretty serious mistake for a chancellor. But what's interesting is how Rishi Sunak is handling this - reopening the inquiry without calling for her resignation suggests he still trusts her, but at the same time Sir Laurie Magnus is reviewing new material, so we'll have to see how this all plays out.

Personally, I think a full formal investigation would be good, just to get to the bottom of what happened and make sure it doesn't happen again. And yeah, Kemi Badenoch's calling for Reeves' resignation if she breaks the law - that's fair play. The Liberal Democrats should probably take a closer look at their own handling of this too... it looks like they're more interested in jumping on the bandwagon than taking a nuanced approach.

On a completely different note, I'm glad to see disability experts leading the review of personal independent payments... that's some much-needed expertise and care being brought to the table. We need to make sure public money is used effectively to support disabled people living independent lives ๐Ÿ’ช
