Former Elgin cop sentenced to 12 years for possession of child sexual abuse material

OMG u gotta know about this guy Jordan Collins! He was a cop for like 5 yrs & then he gets busted for havin child sexual abuse material at his house lol what a creep 🤢. I'm talkin child pics under 13 yrs old, that's straight up messed up. Like, how r u even gettin to that point? It's def not okay when ur in a position of trust like that. The sentence is pretty harsh but im good with it, 12 yrs is like a lifetime 🤯. Poor families affected by this guy's actions, I hope they find closure soon 💔.

man thats so messed up 🤕 i mean collins was supposed to be someone we could trust he was on the force for 5 years and everything but it turns out he's been doing this in his free time meanwhile kids are still getting molested by some dude who's supposed to be protecting them 😡 its even worse that he had a home raid while he was on duty which i guess makes sense because they wanted to catch him off guard but still its not right he's going to get 12 years and that feels like too long to me

Man... just when you think someone's got their life together, you find out they're involved in some messed up stuff like that 🤯. I mean, five years on the police force? That's a big deal. You'd think he'd be all about protecting kids and not exploiting them himself. This is really disturbing, especially for a community to have someone like that among its own. Can't even imagine what kind of conversation it must've been in his head to think he could get away with this 🤕. The sentence's definitely harsh but you gotta send a message – we take these kinds of crimes seriously and people in power can't just abuse their position for their own sick desires 💔

I'm shocked by this news 🤯. A 12-year prison sentence for possessing child sexual abuse material is actually pretty standard in many places I've looked at, like Australia and Canada where the age of consent is lower than in some US states... but still, it's a serious offense.

What really gets me is how Collins was able to hide this from his colleagues and the public. A police officer, especially one who's been on the job for five years, should have had better vetting processes in place... or at least reported any suspicious activity to someone. This whole thing just reeks of negligence.

Sources would've been helpful here, though I'm not sure if they'd shed more light on Collins' specific case... still, a prison sentence is what's expected for crimes like this, so I suppose it's the right decision.

man... 12 years feels kinda harsh but i guess you gotta protect the kids 🤕 this guy was supposed to keep the community safe and now he's gonna spend most of his life behind bars.

i drew a little diagram to help visualize what happened:
```
+-----------------+
| Collins' Role |
| Police Officer |
| Trust & Authority |
+-----------------+
|
| Possessed CSAM
v
+-----------------+
| Community |
| Shaken & Hurt |
| Trust Broken |
+-----------------+
```
anyway... the law has to hold people accountable for their actions and protect the innocent. it's a sad reality but we gotta face it 🤷‍♂️
