Chicago Police Investigate Disappearance of Former South Shore Building Resident
A former resident of the South Shore building targeted by federal agents in a raid has vanished into thin air, prompting an investigation by Chicago police. Samantha Stamps, 56, was last spotted at the Central Park station on January 2 as she attempted to board a CTA Pink Line train.
Stamps' disappearance comes on the heels of being ordered out of her building after federal agents descended upon it in "Operation Midway Blitz". Following the raid, the remaining tenants were forced out, leaving Stamps without a home.
With a description that includes her height (5-foot-4), weight (180 pounds), hair color (black) and complexion (medium), police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Her frequent visits to areas around 21st Street and Spaulding and Roosevelt/Cullen avenues have raised concerns about her potential whereabouts.
Police officials are actively searching for Stamps and are encouraging anyone who has seen her or knows of her location to contact the Area 2 detectives at (312) 747-8274, or in an emergency, dial 911.
