"Gas is coming!": Border Patrol Commander Bovino throws gas canister at protesters in Minneapolis

omg i cant even believe what just happened that cbp commander is literally crazy for throwing gas at people who were just protesting peacefully... i mean i get that protests can get heated but no one deserves to be treated like that, especially not with a gas canister its so scary to think about the safety of those protesters and the fact that they were even put in harm's way because of it. and now everyone is talking about how this whole thing justifies violence against civilians? no way, that's not what free speech and assembly are all about

man this is wild like what even is going on with these cops? throwing gas canisters at protesters is just insane. i mean i get that they were trying to do their job, but come on, there's a way to do that without resorting to violence. and what's with the justification that people were blocking bathroom breaks? does that really sound like a valid reason for using pepper spray or tear gas on innocent civilians? the fact that this guy was able to just throw away his integrity like that is super telling. it shows that some people in power are more interested in maintaining their own sense of control than in actually serving and protecting the public.

i'm not surprised by all the outrage from civil rights groups, but i think it's time for us as a society to start questioning why we're so quick to accept violence as an acceptable solution. can't we just try to understand each other instead?

man thats crazy whats going on with these cbp guys some people think its justified but like throwing gas at protesters is just insane didnt they see how angry everyone was already i mean what if it had been a woman pushing her stroller or someone with a medical condition? that wouldve been a disaster theyre always talking about "protecting and serving" but sometimes thats just a euphemism for "we're gonna mess things up and blame it on you people"
