General Motors reports $7bn earnings loss after pulling back from EVs

I'm totally not surprised that GM is pulling back on electric vehicle investments 🙄. I mean, who wouldn't want to go against the grain and bet on fossil fuels? It's like they're saying "you know what, we were wrong about EVs, let's play it safe"... meanwhile, everyone else is already abandoning ship! And $19.5 billion that Ford has to write off? That's not a loss, that's an opportunity in disguise 💸. The government can't keep messing with the market and expecting automakers to just follow along. It's time for some business-savvy decision making over politics 🤑.

I'm so confused about this whole thing 🤔... I mean, what's with all these changes in policies? One day it's all good for electric cars, the next day it's like, who cares? 😕 I just want a new car that doesn't pollute too much, but now I don't know if that's even possible. Is GM really gonna stop making EVs altogether? 🚗💔 That's sad because I was looking forward to buying one soon...

And what about the tax incentives? Don't they make it more affordable for people to buy electric cars? 🤑 It seems like the less money you have, the better off you are. Is that how it works with taxes and stuff? 🤷‍♀️

I don't usually comment but I think this is super interesting... like, how automakers are so quick to write off their EV investments when it's all about the money 🤑. It feels like they're just trying to protect themselves from future losses or something? And yeah, I get that consumer demand can change, but $7 billion is a big number! I wonder if this will affect other companies in the same way... does anyone else think we'll see more write-downs in the coming months? 🤔

I'm not surprised by GM's decision 🤔. I've been hearing from parents whose kids are interested in electric vehicles, but now they're like "meh, it doesn't matter anymore". Tax incentives were a big deal for families looking to switch to EVs, and now that's gone? 🚗 It's just not as attractive. And let's be real, the environment was already something we all cared about, even if we didn't always take action 💚. Now it's like "wait, climate change is actually a thing we need to worry about"? 🌎 I guess that's what happens when policies change. But still, it's sad to see companies backing out on their promises. Can't they just stick with the goal of making things better? 🤷‍♀️
