Google’s updated Veo model can make vertical videos from reference images with 4K upscaling

Google's latest update to its Veo video AI model allows for the creation of vertical videos with 4K upscaling from reference images. The updated model, part of Google's YouTube creator tools, now incorporates "Ingredients to Video," which enables users to provide the AI with up to three images to include in generated videos.

These images can be used to add characters, backgrounds, and textures to the video, resulting in more consistent outputs. Users can also generate multiple clips and make changes to settings or styles while keeping other elements consistent. The updated model promises fewer random alterations, bringing results closer to reference images.

The new capabilities support vertical video output at a 9:16 aspect ratio, ideal for posting on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, as well as uploading as YouTube Shorts. This feature expands Google's mobile-first video support in Veo.

In addition to the improved video features, the updated model also supports higher-resolution outputs, including 1080p and 4K resolutions. While native video is still produced at a 720p resolution, the model can be upscaled "for high-fidelity production workflows," according to Google.

The Veo 3.1 update marks a significant leap forward in AI video capabilities, with potential implications for online video content creators.

This new update from Google is like, what's up with this vertical video craze anyway? 🤔 I mean, we're already seeing social media platforms pushing us to create more Instagram and TikTok-friendly content. It's like they want us to be vlogging on the go 24/7! 📸 But seriously, this new Veo update is a game-changer for creators who want more control over their video output. I'm all for empowering artists and small businesses with tech that lets them produce high-quality vids without breaking the bank. It's like, we need to support these underdog creators who are fighting against the algorithm giants on social media 🌟 But now we're seeing a shift towards vertical video, which raises questions about what the future of online content will look like. Will we be stuck in this perpetual scroll feed nightmare? 🤯 Only time will tell if Google's Veo 3.1 update is the answer to our prayers or just another symptom of our addiction to social media.

Just saw this news and I'm low-key hyped 🤩! I mean think about it, AI-generated videos that can actually look like they were shot by a pro... sounds like the future of content creation right here! And the fact that you can add your own images to customize it is genius 💡. It's going to make creating vids for social media so much easier and faster. I can already imagine all the crazy vids we'll be seeing on Instagram and TikTok with this new feature 😂. But what really gets me excited is the potential for more creators to produce high-quality content without having to break the bank 💸. It's like, now it's finally possible for anyone to make pro-looking videos! 🎥

I'm loving this new update on Google's Veo! 🤩 I've been trying it out and it's so cool how they can take reference images and turn them into full-blown videos. It's like having a superpower in your hands! 💫 The fact that you can add multiple images to create more consistent outputs is genius. I mean, who doesn't want to be able to edit a video with just a few taps? 😂 And the vertical video feature is exactly what we need for social media platforms. I've been struggling to make my Instagram stories look decent, but now this! 💥

I'm thinking that this updated Veo model is gonna change the game for vloggers and small creators on YouTube. I mean, imagine being able to create 4K vertical videos that look sick without having to spend a fortune on equipment 🤯. And the fact that you can add images to make it look more real... it's like having your own personal video editor assistant! But what really gets me excited is how this is gonna affect the way we consume content online. I was just scrolling through Instagram and TikTok, thinking about how I wish I could create videos that looked as polished as those guys... now I think it's my turn to get creative 📸🎥

I'm not sure why everyone's hyped about this... I mean, vertical videos are just another way to make your vids look like they were shot on an iPhone 📸. And the 4K upscaling from reference images? That's just lazy, right? Can't you just use a decent camera and edit it yourself?

And what's with the "Ingredients to Video" thingy? It sounds like Google is trying to make video editing more accessible, but really, aren't we just relying on AI to do all the work for us? 🤖 Where's the creativity in that? I guess it's good for beginners or something.

But hey, if you're into that whole " automating every aspect of your content" vibe, then go for it. More vertical vids on Instagram and TikTok, yay 💁‍♀️. But can we please just focus on making decent videos without relying on fancy AI tools?

I'm low-key disappointed that Google's new update is just making it easier for people to create generic-looking videos with pre-made images 🤔. I mean, where's the creativity in that? And what's the point of 4K upscaling from reference images if you're just gonna use some random stock footage or characters from a video game? Can't they just make something new and original for once?

And have you seen how much cluttered the interface is going to be with all those options for adding images 📸? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I think people are gonna struggle to learn how to use it properly. And don't even get me started on the YouTube Shorts aspect - what's next, auto-generated TikTok videos? 🤣

omg i just saw this update and its mind blowin 🤯 I've been using veo for like 2 years now and it's crazy how much it's improved! the new "ingredients to video" thing is a game changer lol, no more random edits, just perfect content every time. and the vertical vids are gonna change the game on instagram and tiktok, i can already imagine all the creators going wild with this feature 🤩 what's next, AI generated thumbnails? 😂

🤯 I mean, can you imagine creating vids on your phone and then just having them look insane when u post them online 📱😲? Google's new Veo update is like a game changer - now users can add images to their vids and they'll actually look legit 💥. And it's not just about the looks, it's also about consistency... no more random stuff in the middle of ur vid 🚫. The fact that it supports 4K upscaling is just extra 🤩. I think creators who make online content will love this update... it's gonna take their vids to the next level 💥📹.

just think about how much time we spend watching vids on our phones 📱 and now google's got this thingy that lets us create vids outta thin air 🤯 4k upscaling from pics is wild... it's like having a magic video editor in our pockets 👉 the fact that we can add custom images to make it look more legit is genius 💡

🤯 OMG, this is like, SO COOL!!! 🚀 I've been waiting for something like this to happen! The fact that they can now add characters, backgrounds, and textures to generated videos using reference images is, like, MIND BLOWING!!! 🤯 It's gonna make my YouTube Shorts so much better! And the vertical video feature at 9:16 aspect ratio is perfect for Instagram and TikTok. I'm literally hyped right now thinking about all the possibilities this new update brings! 💥 Can't wait to try it out and see what kinda crazy vids I can come up with 🎥💻

omg I'm so hyped about this new feature 🤩! as someone who's all about creating sick vertical vids on tiktok and instagram, this update is like a dream come true 💥 I mean can you imagine being able to generate vids that are literally identical to your reference images with just 3 clicks? it's like having a personal video assistant 🤖 and the fact that it supports 4k upscaling is just mind-blowing 🤯 I'm already thinking of ways to use this feature in my content creation workflow...

I'm loving this new feature in Google's Veo! Being able to add multiple images to generate videos is like having a mini animation studio at your fingertips 🎬📸... it's so cool that you can try out different styles and keep the same elements consistent throughout. I think this could be a game-changer for creators who want more control over their vertical vids, especially with Instagram and TikTok being all about them these days 💻.

And 4K upscaling from reference images? That's like having your cake and eating it too 🍰! It's amazing how far AI tech has come in just a few years. The fact that they're supporting higher-res outputs too is just the cherry on top 🎁... I wonder what other cool things we'll see Veo do next? 🤔

omg this is insane!!! 🤯 the fact that google can create full-on videos from just 3 images is like something out of a sci-fi movie lol what kind of magic is this?! 😂 anyway i'm so hyped for all you creators out there who are gonna be able to make some amazing vids with this new tool!! and vertical vids at 9:16 ratio are literally meant to be on instagram and tiktok now 📸👍

omg i cant wait to try this out on my vlog 🤩! vertical vids r so cool and its gonna be sick to have that 4k upscaling from reference images 😍. i wonder if theyll add more templates or scenes soon tho?

🤓 I think this latest update is a game-changer for creators who produce vertical content 📸. The ability to provide reference images and have the AI maintain consistency throughout is a huge win. It's amazing how much of an impact that can make in terms of production quality 🔥. And with the support for 4K upscaling, I'm sure we'll see some stunning visuals pop up on Instagram Reels and TikTok soon 🌆. The fact that it expands Google's mobile-first video support is a major plus too - it's about time we saw more platforms prioritize vertical content creation 📈. Overall, this update is a significant leap forward for AI in video production, and I'm excited to see what creators will do with it 💡.

OMG, I'm so stoked about this latest update from Google 🤩! The new features in Veo are literally going to change the game for content creators, especially on Instagram and TikTok. I mean, who doesn't love a vertical video that looks fire 🔥? And being able to add images to generate videos is like having total control over your content - it's amazing! 😍 Plus, the 4K upscaling feature is going to elevate the whole production quality of online vids. It's just so cool to see tech companies pushing boundaries and making creators' lives easier 🎉. Can't wait to see what kind of sick vids people come up with with this new tool 💥!

I'm low-key freaked out about this new update 🤯. It's like, what's really going on here? They're basically giving the AI tools to control our perceptions of reality... I mean, videos. Think about it, these "Ingredients to Video" things can add characters and backgrounds that aren't even in the reference images! What if they're using some kind of neural network trickery to manipulate us? 🤔 It's like, what's next? AI-generated influencers on social media? 😱 And have you seen the 4K upscaling? That sounds too good (or bad?) to be true. They must be using some kind of advanced surveillance tech to analyze our viewing habits...

Just think about it, we're already living in a world where our videos are being created by machines 😱 and now they're making them even better with this new AI model! I mean, having the ability to add characters and textures from reference images is just mind-blowing 🤯. It's like having an entire team of graphic designers working for you 24/7 💻.

But what really gets me excited is the potential impact on creators who don't have the resources or skills to do these kinds of things themselves 🎨. I mean, think about all the indie filmmakers and YouTubers out there who are already struggling to keep up with the latest trends and technologies 😬. This update could be a game-changer for them.

And can you imagine what other cool features they'll come up with next? 🤔 Maybe even something that lets users generate entire stories from scratch using this AI model? The possibilities are endless, man! 💥

OMG u guys!!! 🤩 I'm literally so hyped about this new update on Veo!! 🚀 The fact that they can now create vertical vids with 4K upscaling from reference images is like, a total game-changer! 💥 I mean, imagine being able to add characters and backgrounds to your videos and having them look super consistent - it's like a dream come true for all you creators out there 🎨💫 And the fact that they're supporting vertical vids at 9:16 is perfect for Instagram and TikTok, duh! 📸👀 I'm literally already imagining all the sick vids I can make with this new feature... anyone else as stoked as me? 😆
