Toastique, a gourmet toast and coffee chain from Washington D.C., is set to open its first location in Detroit. The cafe will be situated near Campus Martius Park at 89 Monroe St. and is expected to launch on November 8.
Founded by six siblings - Nour Kanaan, Sarah Kanaan, Hanadi Kanaan, Aya Kanaan, Abbas Kanaan, and Zeinab Ballout - the Detroit store boasts a health-conscious menu featuring avocado toast, açaí bowls, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, coffees, and more.
The siblings cite a desire to cater to the city's growing population as their reason for selecting Detroit as the location. They noted that "there's so much growth happening here but not many quick and healthy options for people working or living downtown." The menu is designed with clean ingredients, vibrant dishes, and great-tasting food in mind.
To foster a sense of community, the siblings aim to collaborate with local artists and small businesses. Nour Kanaan stated that "we're very focused on building a loyal customer base who feels like they're part of the Toastique family." The goal is to create an experience where customers not only enjoy delicious food but also reap its nutritional benefits.
During its opening week, Toastique Detroit will offer various promotions and giveaways. These include $50 in rewards for the first 100 customers on November 8, a free drip coffee with a purchase of $10 or more on November 9, discounted juice options from November 10 to 12, and special deals on smoothies until November 12.
The cafe will operate seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., catering to the busy professionals and students in downtown Detroit who seek a quick yet nutritious meal option.
