I'm literally so frustrated with Kathy Hochul right now ... I get that traffic is a major issue but come on, she's gotta do something! I've been stuck in Manhattan traffic for years and it's just getting worse The MTA needs that money to upgrade the infrastructure and make public transportation better. Instead of being all cautious, shouldn't she be taking bold action? It's not like they're going to raise taxes on people who actually use the subway... Anyway, I hope she changes her mind before it's too late
man i think this is a pretty good thing? yeah i know it sounds counterintuitive but think about it - no tolls during the holidays means less stress for all those people driving around manhattan and that's gotta be better for everyone, right? plus we're not even considering the potential economic benefits of having more time in the day to do stuff other than sitting in traffic...it's like a silver lining or something!
ugh, i dont get why kathy hochul isnt gonna increase tolls on those gridlock alert days... it makes so much sense to reduce traffic during the holidays ... all that money from congestion tolls could be used to make our public transport way better ... im with sam schwartz, we need a more smart system not just some tiny adjustment ... and what about those suburban voters who already hate congestion pricing?
man I'm so done with this toll situation... like what's the plan here? they're raking it in from $2 million daily but can't even raise tolls by 25% on gridlock alert days? that's just whack . i get that people hate congestion pricing, but come on, it's not a perfect system, we need to adapt... danie pearlstein is straight up right about this . and what's with the governor being all chill about the MTA's financial struggles? like, they're living in the past thinking that'll magically fix everything . anywayz, 2031 can't come soon enough
