Guardiola 'embarrassed and ashamed' for handling camera operator in City defeat

Pep Guardiola Admits to Shame and Ashamed Behavior After Newcastle Defeat

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted to being "embarrassed" and "ashamed" over his behavior during the team's 2-1 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday. The visibly upset coach had a heated discussion with referee Sam Barrott, as well as Newcastle midfielder Bruno GuimarΓ£es, but it was his interaction with a camera operator that has left him apologizing for.

According to Guardiola, he apologized to the cameraman immediately after handling the headphones during the post-game discussion. He acknowledged that he is not perfect and makes mistakes, having managed over 1,000 games. The City boss also emphasized that his primary concern is winning the Premier League title, requiring them to accumulate 100 points.

Despite the disappointing loss, which left Manchester City third in the league with seven points behind leaders Arsenal, Guardiola remains optimistic about their chances of winning everything mathematically. He was asked if a quadruple is still within reach, but he referenced his December comments about the quadruple being achievable, stating that journalists may not have heard him.

In regards to his confrontation with GuimarΓ£es, Guardiola maintained that they have had good relationships in the past and would talk even after games at the Etihad Stadium. He also defended speaking to opposition managers immediately after games as long as it's done with respect.

Manchester City face a crucial Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, marking his 100th match in the competition.

I feel for Pep Guardiola, he can't be too proud of handling that situation with the camera operator πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ... I mean, who hasn't lost their cool at some point, right? But it's how you recover from it that matters, and he seems like a class act by taking responsibility and apologizing. The fact that he's still so focused on winning the Premier League title is awesome, and I think he'll bounce back from this loss πŸ†

It's good to see him standing up for his approach of speaking to opposition managers too - can't argue with that logic πŸ€”... and yeah, it's not about being confrontational, just staying focused on your goals. Here's hoping Manchester City gets back on track soon πŸ’ͺ

I dont blame Pep for getting annoyed lol 🀣 that ref was pretty bad, i think he got it all wrong on that one. Pep's just trying to win and take care of business, no need to be ashamed about that 😊 but yeah, handling his emotions better would've been nice after the game. still 100 points to go for in the league tho 🀞 and that quadruple is looking more achievable by the day ⚽️

I'm so bummed about that Newcastle defeat πŸ€•. Pep Guardiola looks all shaken up like he just watched a classic film of the old 90s 😊. I mean, who hasn't been there? We've all had those moments where we're like "wait, what just happened?" and then we get embarrassed and stuff our faces with crisps and ice cream πŸΏπŸ‘€.

It's funny how Pep's being super serious about not wanting to be a bad sport but still got a little heated πŸ˜…. I guess even the greats have their off days, right? He's just trying to keep it together like we do during those awkward family gatherings where everyone's pretending to get along 🀝.

Anyway, I'm rooting for Pep and the City crew to bounce back in that Champions League game on Tuesday πŸ’ͺ. Maybe they can bring home some silverware and make up for that Newcastle loss πŸ†πŸ’₯.

πŸ˜’ I feel for Pep Guardiola, he's clearly under a lot of pressure to win the Premier League and get that quadruple! 😬 He knows he's not perfect and makes mistakes, but who does? πŸ€” Still, apologizing to that cameraman was classless, even if it was just a split-second thing. πŸ’₯ It's cool that he owns up to his emotions and said he's human (not), we've all been there! πŸ˜‚ Guess you could say he took a break from being the "perfect" coach πŸ˜… Can't wait for that Champions League game on Tuesday, will he finally get it right? 🀞

ugh pep guardiola is so extra lol he can be super intense but i feel him getting worked up like that must've taken a lot out of him πŸ˜‚πŸ‘Š meanwhile, it's actually kinda cool that he owns up to being embarrassed and ashamed, shows he's human, you know? πŸ€— maybe having 1000+ games under his belt makes him realize how much he can screw up πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ still, gotta respect the guy for staying optimistic about their chances of winning everything πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ’₯

lol Pep Guardiola is like that one uncle at the family reunion - always causing drama 🀣. Like, who else gets yelled at by the camera guy after handling their headphones? That's some next level embarrassment πŸ˜‚. On a more serious note, I'm glad he's taking responsibility for his actions and apologizing, but gotta wonder what went through that head of his... did he not know there were cameras around πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Anyway, still rooting for City to win the Premier League title, even if it means Pep has to tone down the drama πŸ˜…. Can't wait to see how they do in the Champions League game! πŸ’ͺ

omg I just saw the cutest video of cats playing piano πŸˆπŸ˜‚ like who needs football when you have adorable kitties rocking out? I swear my cat at home does that exact same meow when she hears music lol anyway, back to Pep... I feel bad for him, he's been under so much pressure lately and it shows πŸ˜” but on the bright side, his team is still doing amazingly well despite that loss and a quadruple is def still within reach 🀞 what do you guys think about the Newcastle game? did u catch it?

OMG, Pep Guardiola is so human lol, we've all been there where we're feeling really frustrated and just let our emotions get the best of us πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ! I mean, I wouldn't expect a coach to be perfect 1000 games in or out of management, it's all part of the game. And honestly, I think he handled it pretty well, owning up to his mistakes and apologizing to the cameraman was class πŸ‘. The fact that he still believes they can win everything mathematically gives me hope for Man City! πŸ’ͺ They've got some tough games coming up but they're always a top team πŸ“ˆ

man i feel bad for pep guardiola he looks like he really had a rough time after that loss 😞. i mean who can't be frustrated when we lose right? but it's how you deal with those feelings that matters. he could've just been like "you know what, we lost this one" instead of lashing out at everyone around him πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. still got to respect the guy for owning up to his mistake and apologizing tho πŸ‘. and yeah a quadruple is definitely possible if they keep pushing πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€” Pep's been through some tough times before, but this one stings. I mean, who wants to be seen as being embarrassed and ashamed by their own team? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ It's not like he's never had a rough game or two in his 1,000+ games, right? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Still, you've got to respect the guy for owning up to it. Maybe this is what he needed - a wake-up call to refocus and get those Premier League points rolling again πŸ’ͺ. The quadruple talk is still an intriguing one... can City pull it off? πŸ† We'll just have to wait and see how their Champions League game against Leverkusen goes πŸ‘€

lol what's up with this dude?? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ I mean, i feel him, we all make mistakes, but getting that emotional? it's like, calm down coach! πŸ˜… he's got 1k games under his belt and still gets embarrassed over some cameraman? πŸ“Ή and don't even get me started on the quadruple comment... like what's new there? πŸ˜‰ just saying, if anyone can do it, pep can, but this team is all over the place atm.

omg pep guardiola is really showing some humility here 🀯 i mean who would've thought he'd be apologizing to camera operators after getting into a heated discussion? it's just one of those moments where you gotta respect the guy for owning up to his mistakes even though it's not exactly the most dignified behavior

and let's be real, the dude has been through 1000+ games, that's a lot of pressure! but at the same time, he can't always win and losing to newcastle might've gotten to him a bit. i'm sure bru no guimarΓ£es was just trying to do his job tho

anyway, pep is still super optimistic about city winning the title and who knows maybe he's right 🀞 we'll just have to wait and see!

omg did u know that saturday night i was at this festival and i saw this band that was literally so good they made me wanna cry like i've never cried at a concert before lol anyway back to pep i feel bad for him but honestly who hasn't had a meltdown after a loss? we all have those moments where we just wanna scream at someone or something idk maybe its just the pressure of being a top manager but i think he's handling it well so far
