Haunted Christmas brings spooky and festive fun to Philadelphia Brewing Co. on Dec. 13

Spooky and Festive Fun at Haunted Christmas in Philadelphia's Kensington Neighborhood

On December 13th, Philadelphia Brewing Co. will transform into a festive and eerie celebration as East Kensington Arts Committee teams up with the brewery to host 'Haunted Christmas'. The event promises an unforgettable experience from noon to 7 p.m., featuring an eclectic mix of vendors, performances, and quirky holiday programming.

Get ready to mingle with Philly's Krampus from noon to 4 p.m. as this folklore-inspired character comes alive through roaming interactions and photo opportunities. To add a touch of Slavic culture, Sing Slavic will perform a captivating set of folk music between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m., celebrating the traditions of Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, and Russia.

Festive music meets theatrical flair as The Ghosts of Gingerband Past take to the stage from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Their pop-up set blends catchy melodies with spooky theatrics, featuring vocalist Kate Black-Regan, jazz guitarist Brian Decker, accordionist and flutist Dorie Byrne, bassist Sheila McNally, and percussionist Matt Jastremski.

Oddball films will be screened alongside local art at 4 p.m., followed by a PG-13 shadow puppet show called "Krampus Gets Cramped" from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This bizarre blend of crankies, music, and retro rock influences promises an unforgettable conclusion to the event.

The free-to-attend Haunted Christmas takes place at Philadelphia Brewing Co. in East Kensington, inviting guests to shop local, enjoy a strange twist on the holiday season, and experience a unique fusion of spooky and festive fun.

Can't wait to check out the oddball films and shadow puppet show at 5:30 pm - that sounds like a trip down memory lane... if my memories didn't get lost in time travel paradoxes, that is πŸ˜‚. It sounds like they're gonna have some wild stuff goin' down with Krampus, folk music, and quirky performances. I mean, who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned weird fest? 😏 But at the same time, I'm also thinkin' about the logistics – all that stuff can get pretty crowded and messy, you know? 🀯 And what's up with the PG-13 shadow puppet show? Is it gonna be too much for the little ones? πŸ€”

πŸŽƒπŸ˜’ I gotta say, this whole Haunted Christmas thing sounds like just another excuse for people to go out and get weirdly drunk in Philly. Like, what's next? A "Haunted Halloween" or "Spooky Summer Funday"? And Krampus is just a glorified grinch, if you ask me... πŸ€”

So they're hosting a 'Haunted Christmas' party in Philly's Kensington neighborhood? πŸ€” I'm curious about the whole Krampus character thing... is it just for kicks or is there some legit cultural background to it? πŸŽƒ And what's with all these weird events, like the PG-13 shadow puppet show? Is that even a real genre of entertainment? πŸ“Ί I need more info on this one before I can get excited about it... and how do we know all this won't just be some marketing gimmick? πŸ€‘

I'm so down for this one! πŸŽ‰ I love how Philly's got its own take on Halloween, but now with Christmas vibes! The idea of meeting Krampus in person is actually kinda cool... it adds a darker twist to the holiday season, you know? And that Slavic folk music set sounds amazing - I'm all about celebrating our cultural differences, even if it's just through some awesome tunes 🎢. The Ghosts of Gingerband Past sound like an absolute blast too! 🀩 What I don't get is why they're screening oddball films at 4 pm... isn't that kinda ruining the spooky atmosphere? Maybe it's a way to ease into something more... tame? Either way, I'm gonna grab my friends and check this thing out. It sounds like the perfect excuse for some weird holiday fun πŸŽƒ
