Hawks' Kristaps Porzingis (left Achilles tendinitis) ruled out vs. Celtics

The Boston Celtics will face the Atlanta Hawks, and Kristaps Porzingis won't be able to join them. The 7-foot-2 center has been ruled out of Saturday's game with a left Achilles tendinitis diagnosis, downgraded from questionable to out on Friday.

Porzingis' health issues have persisted since joining the Hawks in July last year. He has struggled to stay healthy, missing 26 games out of the team's 43 due to various injuries and POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). The 30-year-old center has dealt with an Achilles injury that originated while playing for the Celtics and was exacerbated in the playoffs last April.

Despite his recent setbacks, Porzingis remains a productive player on the court when he is healthy. He's averaging 17.1 points per game this season, with a shooting percentage of 45.7% from the field and 36.0% from beyond the arc.

The Hawks will now face Boston without forward Josh Minott (left ankle sprain) and possibly guard Payton Pritchard (left ankle soreness). Porzingis will have two more chances to play against his former team this season, with Atlanta visiting Boston on January 28 and March 27, followed by the Celtics' visit to Atlanta on March 30.

Aww man, what a shame for Kristaps Porzingis! He's such an awesome player when he's healthy πŸ€•. I was really hoping to see him crush it against his former team this season. But you know how it is, injuries are just part of the game πŸ€. It's like my grandma used to say, "You can't control the weather, but you can prepare for it." πŸ’ͺ

I'm still excited about the Hawks' chances against the Celtics on Saturday though! They've got a tough task ahead, but I think they can give Boston a run for their money πŸ†. And who knows, maybe Porzingis will make a comeback and dominate the court when he's back from his injury 🀞. Fingers crossed! 😊

Ugh, great timing for Kristaps Porzingis to get hurt now πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, who needs a healthy center when you've got a decent starting lineup already? πŸ™„ The Hawks must be thrilled to have him play through his chronic health issues... not like he's been doing that since July last year or anything πŸ˜’. On the bright side, it's always entertaining watching players deal with their own personal dramas on the court πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. The Celtics' chances of winning just got a bit more interesting πŸ€‘.

Aww man, Porzingis again πŸ€•... He's such a talented player when he's healthy, but it's frustrating to see him miss games due to injuries πŸ˜”. The Hawks need him right now, especially with these other guys out ⚽️. I hope he recovers soon and gets back on the court πŸ’ͺ, so we can see more of his skill and dominance πŸ“ˆ.

ugh, what's up with these constant injuries to porzingis?! πŸ€• he was so hyped to join the hawks, and now it seems like his body just can't handle the games πŸ˜’ he's still putting up solid numbers when he's healthy tho, averaging 17.1 points per game, that's not bad at all! πŸ€‘ but seriously, how much more can this guy take? 26 missed games already this season... and now he's gonna miss another one? πŸ’” and what about the other guys getting injured too? minott out with an ankle sprain, and pritchard with some soreness? it's just not fair πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Aww man πŸ€•... Kristaps Porzingis is having a rough season, but he's still killing it when he's healthy! πŸ˜… I mean, 17.1 points per game is no joke, and his shooting percentages are still on point 🎯. It's just frustrating for fans to see him struggle with injuries, especially since POTS has been a recurring issue since he joined the Hawks in July πŸ’”.

The Hawks are going to have to rely on their other bigs to step up against Boston 🀞. With Minott and Pritchard out, it's gonna be a tough one for Atlanta... but we can't count them out just yet 😏. I'm curious to see how Porzingis bounces back (no pun intended) from this Achilles injury πŸ’ͺ. Maybe he'll make the most of his two remaining games against Boston and give us a glimpse into what's possible when he's 100% 🀞

Omg this is gonna be a tough one for the Hawks πŸ€•πŸ’”! Porzingis might not even make it back in time for those two games πŸ•°οΈπŸ‘€, can u imagine? And now they have to face Boston without Minott and Pritchard too 😩😬, that's like getting hit by a double whammy πŸ’₯😴. I'm kinda rooting for the Hawks, but at the same time I feel bad for Porzingis - he's been dealing with this Achilles thingy for ages πŸ€•πŸ’”. He's still putting up some sick numbers when he is healthy tho! πŸ˜²πŸ‘

awww man πŸ˜” what's up with Porzingis?! like he's always getting hurt at the worst times... πŸ€• Achilles tendinitis is no joke! and POTS too? that sounds super painful πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ he's still putting up big numbers when he's healthy tho, 17.1 points per game ain't bad πŸ’ͺ but it's not like he can do much of anything if he's injured... hope he gets back to full health soon or else the Hawks are gonna get destroyed without him 😳

Aww man! πŸ€• Porzingis is just getting going and now he's out for another game? That's so frustrating for him and the Hawks. He's always been a tough player to keep healthy, but you can't help feeling bad for him when he's missing games like this. πŸ˜” And to make matters worse, his former team (Celtics) is gonna come at him with two more chances to face off... that's just gonna bring up more emotions for him on the court πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

aww man, looks like Kristaps is out again πŸ€•. Can't say I'm surprised tho, POTS and all that jazz. That's some crazy stuff πŸ˜…. At least he's productive when he's healthy, right? 17.1 points a game is no joke πŸ’ͺ. But with him missing out on games again, it's like they're trying to tank the season or something πŸ™„. Hawks are gonna struggle without him and Josh Minott too πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Hopefully he gets his health back soon so we can see some real ball πŸ€

I'm low-key bummed that Kristaps is out πŸ€•... I mean, who doesn't love a good Achilles injury story? πŸ˜‚ It's like he's got a superpower – "I can shoot 45.7% from the field, but my Achilles is like a nemesis!" πŸ’ͺ Meanwhile, the Hawks are gonna have to step up their game without Josh and Payton... or they'll be eating Celtics' dust πŸ€. Can't wait for the rematch in Jan tho! 🀞
