Heated Rivalry review – these physically perfect people have so much sex it's tedious

Heated Rivalry: a tale of love, lust, and less-than-th thrilling hockey.

In this latest guilty pleasure from Netflix, two ice hockey stars find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other. Shane Hollander, the golden child with a talent nurtured by doting parents, finds himself torn between his lucrative brand deals and the undeniable chemistry he shares with Ilya Rozanov, the brooding son of a Soviet father who's driven him relentlessly in pursuit of Russian glory.

Their romance blossoms like a perfectly choreographed dance, with every scene showcasing their undeniable passion. However, one can't help but feel that we're being sold a product - a carefully crafted narrative designed to titillate rather than truly engage. The first few hours are a masterclass in seduction, but it's a tad too slick for its own good.

As the show progresses, things start to get a bit tedious. Watching two handsome men make love becomes almost monotonous, and their banter starts to feel more like a rehearsed script than genuine repartee. The hockey scenes are equally underwhelming, failing to capture the intensity of the sport they're supposed to be promoting.

But just when you think it's all over for Heated Rivalry, a secondary romance comes along to save the day. Scott Hunter, Shane's fellow hockey player, turns out to be closeted, and his blossoming relationship with Kip provides much-needed emotional investment. The show starts to breathe, and their love story is genuinely compelling.

In the end, whether or not Heated Rivalry is worth sitting through for its entire runtime depends on your personal taste. If you're looking for a sexy, predictable romance with some token moments of character development, this might be the show for you. However, if you crave something more substantial - real emotional depth, genuine character growth, and a narrative that doesn't feel like it's just padding out the sex scenes - then Heated Rivalry falls short.

Ultimately, its massive word-of-mouth success suggests that wine moms everywhere will find this show entertaining, but for those of us looking for substance, we deserve better.

I'm not sure what's more cringeworthy, the super cheesy romance between Shane and Ilya or the lack of actual hockey skills on display 🤦‍♂️. On one hand, I love a good love story as much as the next person, but this show feels like it's checking all the right boxes rather than being genuinely invested in its characters' emotions.

The secondary romance with Scott and Kip is definitely a highlight of the show, though 🌈. It adds a whole new layer of complexity to the narrative and makes you care about what happens next. But let's be real, if you're gonna make a show about hockey, at least have some decent matches or training scenes 🔥.

I also think the show could've benefited from more nuanced character development 🤔. Shane and Ilya are basically perfect heroes - rich, talented, and handsome (hello, brooding son of a Soviet father trope 🙄). Where's the depth? The flaws? The relatability?

As it stands, Heated Rivalry feels like a guilty pleasure for those who enjoy mindless, feel-good romance 💁‍♀️. If you're looking for something with more substance, I'd recommend checking out other Netflix shows. But hey, if you want to waste an entire season on steamy hockey romances, be my guest 🤷‍♂️!

I gotta say, I was pretty meh about this one... 🤷‍♂️ the hockey stuff just didn't hold my attention and it felt like they were trying way too hard to make the sex scenes sexy 😏. but then that secondary romance came along and suddenly it was like a whole different show 🔄 scott hunter and kip's storyline was actually kinda cute ❤️. i think the problem is that netflix just wants to make a quick buck and doesn't care about making something really good... or at least, that's what I'm thinking 😒

omg I was expecting a lot more from Heated Rivalry tbh, the romance is nice n all, but it feels like they're just checking boxes 🤔👀 the hockey scenes are super boring and I don't get why Scott's storyline is even there, it feels like an afterthought 💁‍♂️🏒

I gotta say, I'm so over all these hockey shows 🤣 they're just like the old NHL games on TV - all skates and no sticks, you know? 🏒️ Anyway, I do love a good romance, especially when it's got some real tension and drama. But this one, Heated Rivalry, feels like it's just phoning it in, ya know? The chemistry between Shane and Ilya is cool, but it's not enough to carry the show. And don't even get me started on the secondary romance - Scott and Kip are cute, but come on, it's a bit too convenient. 🤷‍♂️ On the other hand, I do love how wine moms everywhere are going wild for this show 😂 maybe they'll actually watch the whole thing and not just binge the first few eps like I would.

meh, i watched it once, thought it was cute, but after a while, the hockey scenes felt like an afterthought 🏒️. the secondary romance with Scott Hunter and Kip was nice tho 👫👭, gave me hope that not all love stories have to be about the main couple 💕. overall, i guess its a guilty pleasure for some people, but if u want real drama and character growth, there are better shows out there 📺

I don't know, guys 😐 I went into Heated Rivalry thinking it was gonna be a sizzling romance and some hot hockey action, but honestly, the more I watched, the more I felt like I was just watching a really expensive infomercial 🤑. The whole thing feels kinda manufactured, you know? Like they're trying to sell us on these dreamy ice rinks and swoony hockey moves, but it's all just so... polished 💅. But at the same time, that secondary romance between Scott and Kip is pretty sweet, and I loved how they managed to breathe some life into the show 🌱. So yeah, I guess it's a solid choice if you're looking for something light-hearted and easy, but if you're craving something more substantial... yeah, maybe not so much 🤔

I'm low-key disappointed with Heated Rivalry tbh 🤷‍♂️. I was hyped to watch a sexy hockey romance, and while the first few eps were on point 💁‍♂️, it just didn't hold up for me afterwards. The secondary romance with Scott & Kip was a total game-changer tho 👍 - that's where things got real for me. But overall, I feel like Netflix is trying too hard to make this show sexy and not enough into the hockey or character development 🤦‍♂️. For those who enjoy light, easy binges, I guess it's a solid choice 😊, but if you're looking for something more substantial, keep scrolling 👀

meh, i dunno about this one... i mean, it's def got some cute moments between shane and ilya 🤣, but overall feels like netflix is trying too hard to make romance sexy. the hockey scenes are so boring lol, like who cares about hockey? give me the emotional drama any day 💔

and then scott shows up out of nowhere and suddenly i'm invested in his love story with kip 👫🤗. but it feels like an afterthought, you know? like netflix is just trying to make up for how boring the main romance was.

i'll def be watching more ep's if they can keep scott's storyline going tho 📺👀

I guess some people just can't get enough of sappy romances with an awkwardly placed hockey twist 🏒️. I mean, who doesn't love watching two gorgeous guys skate around and make out? It's not like it's a lazy way to fill time or anything... But honestly, if you're gonna invest your time in this show, you gotta be willing to overlook some pretty obvious plot holes and super predictable character development 🙄.

I gotta say 🤔 I'm so done with all the drama and manufactured romance in Heated Rivalry lol. It's like they took every cliche from a rom-com and slapped it onto two hockey players 🏒👊. Don't get me wrong, I love a good swoony slow burn as much as the next person 😘 but come on! You can't just phone in a whole season of emotions and expect us to buy it 💁‍♀️.

And don't even get me started on how ridiculous Shane's parents are 🙄 like, hello, having your kid groomed by a Russian coach who's basically a sex predator is not cute or sexy, it's messed up 😷. And what's with the token LGBTQ+ character, Scott? It's like they're trying to shoehorn in some diversity instead of actually making his storyline meaningful 🤦‍♀️.

Anyway, if you're into that sorta thing and want a cheesy romp with some mediocre hockey action 💨 then Heated Rivalry might be your cup of tea. But for the rest of us, there are way better shows out there 📺.

I gotta say, I'm a bit meh on Heated Rivalry 🤷‍♂️. It's like they took all the hottest hockey stars and threw 'em into a love triangle - sounds juicy, right? But honestly, it feels like they just phoned it in. The romance is too neat, too tidy... I mean, where's the messy stuff? The fights? The disagreements? Just watching these two gorgeous dudes get together gets old fast. Add to that some weirdly convenient plot twists and you're left feeling pretty meh about the whole thing 😐. But hey, if you're into that sorta thing, go for it! I'll stick to my own projects, like fixing up my old motorcycle or trying out a new recipe 🚴‍♂️

I'm not gonna lie, I was super intrigued by the whole idea of "Heated Rivalry" at first 🤔. And yeah, the chemistry between Shane and Ilya is undeniable 💋. But the more I watched, the more I felt like it was all just a bit too polished for me 🎬. The hockey scenes were super lacking, imo, and the romance got a bit repetitive 😴.

BUT 🙌, that secondary romance with Scott and Kip completely changed my mind! It's so refreshing to see a show tackle LGBTQ+ themes in such a genuine way ❤️. And their love story is genuinely compelling - I was on the edge of my seat! 👀

I guess what I'm saying is, if you're looking for a light, fluffy romance with some token moments of character development, then "Heated Rivalry" might be your thing 💁‍♀️. But if you're craving something more substantial... there are better shows out there 📺.
