So like I was thinking about how cool it is that our iPhones have this super convenient feature to track our stuff and now we know when to replace the battery in our AirTags too... 
That's a great point about not hearing a chime if the new battery isn't inserted correctly, I wouldn't want my AirTag to stop working all of a sudden 
. And yeah, it makes sense that batteries can be pretty reliable if we just use them right and replace them on time... My friend's mom has like 3-4 AirTags and she doesn't even have an iPhone but she uses them all the time because they're so easy to use!
