Hudson’s Detroit announces rooftop bar Pine Hall - Detroit Metro Times

Detroit's Hudson's Department Store is Set to Rise Again with Rooftop Bar Pine Hall

A new rooftop bar, Pine Hall, is set to open this spring at Hudson's Detroit, the latest addition to the historic department store site. Named after a beloved restaurant that once occupied the space before its demolition in 1998, the bar will be run by Union Square Hospitality Group, a renowned James Beard Award-winning restaurant group behind Shake Shack.

Pine Hall promises to be a neighborhood bar where locals can gather and socialize. According to Danny Meyer, CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group, the goal is for Pine Hall to become a regular spot for Detroiters, a place that brings people together and adapts to whatever moment calls for it.

The rooftop bar will seat around 300 guests and boast an outdoor deck with stunning views of downtown Detroit. The space is designed to be versatile, allowing it to shift seamlessly between casual gatherings and more formal events.

With Union Square Hospitality Group at the helm, Pine Hall is poised to become a must-visit destination for foodies and bar enthusiasts alike. As Meyer put it, "We hope that Detroiters make it part of their regular rotation, a locals joint that brings people together." Only time will tell if Pine Hall will indeed achieve this goal, but one thing is certain – the city's nightlife scene just got a whole lot more exciting.

I'm hyped for Pine Hall to open 🤩! A rooftop bar in Detroit? That's a win-win for both locals and tourists. It's awesome that Union Square Hospitality Group is behind it, they know their stuff when it comes to creating memorable experiences. I love the idea of Pine Hall being a neighborhood bar that adapts to whatever moment calls for it - whether it's a casual gathering or a more formal event. The outdoor deck with stunning views of downtown Detroit? Can't wait to check it out! It's also great to see a new addition to the historic Hudson's Department Store site, keeping its legacy alive in some way. Fingers crossed that Pine Hall becomes a regular spot for Detroiters and brings people together 🤝

🤔 so they're reviving this old building and turning it into a bar? i think that's kinda cool, especially since its named after some old restaurant that used to be there... like how we can connect with history and the people who came before us? but also, what if they mess it up? 🤦‍♀️ is pine hall gonna be just another rooftop bar or will it really feel like a neighborhood spot for locals? i hope its not too pricey tho, 'cause detroit's already got some cool bars and spots that are super affordable... 💸 anyway, can't wait to check it out when it opens! 🎉

Ugh, I'm so over these trendy rooftop bars popping up everywhere 🤯. Like, who thought it was a good idea to turn an old department store into a party spot? Don't get me wrong, Pine Hall sounds fancy and all, but what about the history of that building? I mean, it's Hudson's Department Store we're talking about here! It's like they're erasing all the memories and stories from that place just to make way for some hipster bar 🤦‍♀️. And 300 guests on a rooftop in Detroit? That's just gonna be a madhouse on weekends 😩. I hope it's not just another overhyped spot that's only popular among Instagram influencers 💁‍♀️...

omg cant wait to check out Pine Hall its gonna be lit! i love how its designed to be versatile so they can have everything from casual hangouts to fancy events 🎉🍹💃 it would be awesome if they could get some live music or DJs going on a regular basis too that would take it to the next level lol just imagine sipping cocktails and taking in the views of detroit skyline with friends what a perfect spot for a night out 💯

OMG I'm so down for a rooftop bar in Detroit!!! 🍹🌆 I mean, who wouldn't want to chill with friends on a beautiful day overlooking the city? And it's great that Union Square Hospitality Group is putting their name behind it - they've done amazing work with Shake Shack. I'm curious to see how Pine Hall evolves into a regular spot for locals... will it be more of a family-friendly vibe or more of a grown-up hangout? Either way, I'll def be checking it out soon! 🤗
