ICE Agent Who Shot Renee Nicole Good Identified as Jonathan Ross

A federal immigration agent has been identified as Jonathan Ross, a 43-year-old deportation officer from Minnesota, after he fatally shot Renee Nicole Good, 37, during a confrontation in Minneapolis. According to court documents, Ross was injured by an undocumented man in June and had previously lived in Texas.

Good's death occurred just after 9:30 am on Wednesday during a protest between federal agents and protesters in the Central neighborhood of Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security initially claimed that Ross acted in self-defense but video footage obtained by The Intercept contradicts this narrative, showing Ross telling Good to "Get out of the fucking car" before shooting her vehicle three times.

Minneapolis officials have expressed concerns about the lack of evidence and FBI refusal to assist with the investigation. Local leaders have called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident, labeling it as "state violence." Rep. Ilhan Omar has also demanded an investigation, stating that ICE must be held accountable for Good's killing.

Jonathan Ross, identified as the agent involved in Good's shooting, has a history of controversy, including being injured during a traffic incident while apprehending Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, an undocumented man convicted of dragging Ross with his car. Public records reveal that Ross secured a loan through a program for veterans and lived in Texas near Fort Bliss.

The Intercept's editor-in-chief has stated that this is the worst year for journalism in modern US history, citing a president with contempt for truth using government powers to dismantle the free press and corporate news outlets becoming accessories. The publication is seeking donations to expand its reporting capacity to combat this trend.

The Intercept obtained footage of Ross shooting Good, which contradicts the Department of Homeland Security's narrative that Ross feared for his life. Video shows Ross telling Good to leave her car before shooting, then walking away uninjured.

OMG u guys, can't believe wat happened in Minneapolis yesterday! ๐Ÿคฏ this is seriously insane! They killed a woman over a protest and it was completely avoidable. The agent who did it, Jonathan Ross, has a history of problems & he's just lucky he didn't get hurt 2. And now the government's trying to say he acted in self-defense but the vid proof is clear as day - he was tryin 2 kill her! ๐Ÿ˜ก what's goin on with this? why do they gotta be so violent all the time? & btw, how can u even justify shootin someone over a car?!?! ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’ฅ Minneapolis officials are right 2 demand a full investigation into this & Rep. Ilhan Omar is callin out ICE 4 their part in it too! ๐Ÿ˜ค we need 2 know the truth & make sure justice is served! ๐Ÿ’”

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ I'm literally shaking thinking about what happened to Renee Nicole Good! ๐Ÿ’” The video footage is SO damning against Jonathan Ross, like how he's telling her to get out of the car BEFORE he shoots it three times?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ That's just not okay at all. And the fact that the Department of Homeland Security is trying to spin this as self-defense is just ridiculous ๐Ÿ™„ I mean, come on! They're basically saying that Ross was in fear for his life when Good was just standing there with her hands up ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.

And can we talk about how messed up the system is? ๐Ÿคฏ Like, ICE and DHS are supposed to be protecting people, not killing them. And now they're trying to cover it up?! ๐Ÿ˜ก Rep. Ilhan Omar is speaking out for Renee's family and demanding justice, which is so necessary ๐Ÿ’ช. We need more people like her who aren't afraid to call out the truth.

I'm seriously considering donating to The Intercept right now ๐Ÿ’ธ They're doing some amazing work exposing all the corruption and lies in our government ๐Ÿ“ฐ. We need more journalists like them who aren't afraid to tell the truth, no matter how hard it is ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

I'm literally torn about this ๐Ÿคฏ... I think Jonathan Ross was in the wrong, no wait, maybe he wasn't ๐Ÿ˜’... I mean, the footage is pretty damning, but what if it got edited or something? ๐Ÿค” And what's with all the outrage? Can't we just have a more nuanced discussion? ๐Ÿ’ก Like, we need to acknowledge that there are risks for ICE agents, but so does the public when they protest. It's like, can't we find a middle ground? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

And don't even get me started on Rep. Omar's demands for an investigation ๐Ÿšซ... I think she's being way too hard on ICE, considering how much they've been criticized in the past ๐Ÿ˜”. But at the same time, if Ross did indeed do something wrong, we need to hold him accountable ๐Ÿ’ฏ.

It's like, this whole thing is a mess ๐Ÿคฏ... I'm just gonna take a deep breath and try to stay neutral ๐Ÿ™...

I think it's kinda messed up that a federal immigration agent gets to decide who lives or dies in the US. Like, shouldn't we have laws and regulations in place to protect everyone, not just those with guns? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ This whole thing feels like an overreach of power and a major disregard for human life. And can we talk about how messed up it is that video footage contradicts the official story but still hasn't gotten anyone held accountable? ๐Ÿšซ It's super frustrating to see people in positions of authority getting a free pass just because they're supposed to be "protectors" of the country. ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿ˜• my heart goes out to Renee Nicole Good's family and loved ones... this whole thing just feels so wrong ๐Ÿคฏ an undocumented guy shoots the officer in self-defense and he dies? that doesn't seem right at all ๐Ÿšซ what about all those times Ross put himself in harm's way, like when that dude dragged him with his car? shouldn't he be worried about that too? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway, it's messed up that the FBI isn't helping with this investigation, and Minneapolis officials are calling out for a full probe into what happened... this whole thing needs to be looked at ๐Ÿ’ก

What a dark day in Minneapolis ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ท. Can't believe an undercover agent would end up taking someone's life over a protest. I think this incident is gonna be all over the headlines and rightfully so - we need answers here! The footage is super damning, it looks like Ross had plenty of time to get outta there before Good was even shot. This whole thing stinks of overreach & abuse of power ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ. We should be focusing on finding solutions, not covering up government misconduct ๐Ÿ‘€. And can we please get some transparency around what exactly happened here? The lack of evidence and FBI's refusal to help is super concerning ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ก

man... whats goin on with this?? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ a cop shootin someone in cold blood and now everyone wanna know the truth ๐Ÿค” its like, really sad what happened to Renee Nicole Good... 37 yrs old life cut short ๐ŸŒน cant even imagine how her fam & friends are feelin right now ๐Ÿ’”

anywayz, this Jonathan Ross guy has a history of controversy already... like, he got injured by some undocumented dude and all... but then he goes & shoots someone in the middle of a protest? that just dont sit right with me ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ

im all for holdin people accountable 4 their actions, but this whole thing feels like it was covered up ๐Ÿšซ & now we gotta wait 4 a full investigashun ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ meanwhile, more ppl are losin faith in the system... we cant keep relyin on the gov to do whats rite ๐Ÿ˜”

๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿš”๏ธ The US is having a major crisis right now ๐Ÿคฏ! This police officer, Jonathan Ross, is under fire for killing an innocent woman ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ in the middle of a protest ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ. It's like he just lost control and went rogue ๐Ÿ˜จ. And to make matters worse, his story doesn't even check out ๐Ÿ”. The video footage is clear: he told her to get out of the car before shooting ๐Ÿ‘€.

I'm not surprised that this happened in Minneapolis ๐ŸŒ† - we've seen time and time again how police brutality affects communities of color ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ. It's like the system is just broken ๐Ÿ’”. We need real answers and justice for Renee Good's family ๐Ÿ‘ช. This is a wake-up call for all of us to demand change ๐Ÿ”„. We can't keep living in fear of our own government ๐Ÿ”ซ.

The Intercept has done amazing work in exposing this truth ๐Ÿ”Ž, but they really need our support ๐Ÿ’•. They're fighting against the erosion of free press and corporate news outlets becoming accomplices ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ’ธ. It's time to take a stand for journalism and truth-telling ๐Ÿ“ข!

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I gotta say, this is a total mess! First off, whoever said Ross acted in self-defense needs to rewatch the video because it's super clear that he was the aggressor ๐Ÿ™„. And what's up with the lack of evidence? I mean, come on, Minneapolis officials are right to call for a full investigation. This whole thing stinks of state violence ๐Ÿ’”.

And can we talk about Ross's history for a sec? Being injured by an undocumented guy and then taking out his frustrations on some poor protester? Not cool, dude ๐Ÿ˜’. And that loan he got as a vet? That's just great, because now we know the government is willing to prop up veterans who are already traumatized.

I also gotta give it to The Intercept for speaking truth to power ๐Ÿ‘. This president of theirs needs to learn about accountability and respecting the press. It's not like they're asking for much, just some basic facts and transparency. But nope, instead we get a president who's basically trying to crush the free press ๐Ÿ“ฐ.

And btw, if The Intercept is struggling this bad, maybe it's time for us to start supporting our local journalism outlets more? We need good reporting now more than ever ๐Ÿ’ธ.

This is a total mess ๐Ÿคฏ. I'm not saying we should be condemning the agent without all the facts, but come on, 3 shots in the car? That doesn't add up ๐Ÿค‘. I get that protests can get heated, but this seems like an overreaction from both sides. The fact that Ross is injured by an undocumented guy a few months ago and then becomes a target for protest violence is fishy ๐ŸŽฃ. We need to separate the agent's actions from the circumstances surrounding it.

I also think we're missing a bigger picture here ๐ŸŒ. This isn't just about one shooting, but about systemic issues with our immigration system and law enforcement. We need more transparency and accountability, not less ๐Ÿ’ก. The Intercept is doing some great reporting on this, but we need to support them and other independent outlets that are holding the powers that be accountable.

I'm all for investigating this incident thoroughly, but let's not jump to conclusions just yet ๐Ÿค”. We need to look at the bigger picture and work towards finding solutions that don't involve shooting people ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I'm so shocked by what happened in Minneapolis ๐Ÿคฏ. This just makes me feel like our country is going backwards on so many issues. It seems like the system is just broken and we're losing people because of it ๐Ÿ˜”. I mean, a guy gets injured while doing his job and suddenly he's got to shoot someone who doesn't even have a gun on them? That just feels so reckless ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ.

And what really gets me is that there are so many questions still unanswered. Like, what was going through Ross's head when he decided to pull the trigger? Did anyone else know about this situation beforehand? It feels like we're just being fed the same old narrative without any real accountability ๐Ÿ’”.

I'm also super frustrated with The Intercept for having to seek donations just because they want to keep doing their job. I mean, shouldn't it be our government's responsibility to support journalists who are trying to hold them accountable? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

omg u cant believe whats goin on here ๐Ÿคฏ this immigration agent just gunned down a woman in front of his own eyes and everyone's talkin about self defense lol what was he scared of? that a protester would protest him outta his job? ๐Ÿ˜‚ the vids dont lie tho, hes tellin her to get outa the car before he shoots it three times... like wut kinda convo is this? ๐Ÿค” and now reps from minny are demandin an investigation coz theres no evidence or FBI's not helpin ๐Ÿ™„ this whole thing smells like state violence if u ask me.

๐Ÿค• This is just so tragic... I'm really worried about what's going on with our immigration system and how it affects people like Renee Nicole Good ๐Ÿค•. The fact that Jonathan Ross was shot after being injured by an undocumented man and now he's the one who ended up killing someone in a confrontation is just crazy ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. And to make matters worse, the lack of evidence and FBI refusal to assist with the investigation is really concerning ๐Ÿš”.

I'm all for holding people accountable, but we need to make sure that justice is served fairly and without bias ๐Ÿ”. The fact that Ross has a history of controversy and was injured during a traffic incident while apprehending someone raises so many questions about his credibility and judgment ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. We can't just jump to conclusions or assume the worst about people from different backgrounds or countries.

We need more like The Intercept, advocating for truth and fact-based reporting in a world where it's getting harder to trust the media ๐Ÿ“ฐ. I'm all for supporting them in their efforts to expand their reporting capacity ๐Ÿ’ธ. We need more voices like theirs to hold those in power accountable and to give us a more accurate picture of what's really going on in our country ๐ŸŒŽ.

I just got back from a crazy road trip across the Midwest and I'm still trying to process the entire experience ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ. I mean, have you ever tried driving through the Great Plains at sunrise? The sky is literally on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ! I saw the most beautiful sunflowers in Iowa, they were like nothing I've ever seen before ๐ŸŒผ. But, what's really got me thinking is how do we get more people to explore America's weird roadside attractions? Like, have you heard of Carhenge in Nebraska? It's this amazing replica of Stonehenge made from vintage cars ๐Ÿ˜‚. We need more of that kind of thing! Anyway, back to the news... what a tragic incident, hope they catch whoever shot Jonathan Ross ๐Ÿค•.

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ this is getting outta hand!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I mean, a deportation officer just shot a lady in cold blood and now the gov't is all like "oh no, we're not doing anything about it"? ๐Ÿ™„ Like, what's good with that? ๐Ÿค‘ I'm so down for some major accountability here ๐Ÿ‘Š Rep. Ilhan Omar is on it tho ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ, demanding an investigation and calling it out as state violence ๐Ÿšซ. The Intercept just dropped some crazy footage that shows Ross yelling at Renee to leave her car before shooting her ๐Ÿ“น, like what even is this? ๐Ÿ˜ค And the Dept of Homeland Security is still trying to spin this one? ๐Ÿ™„ We need real change here ๐Ÿ’ฅ, not just empty apologies ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

๐Ÿšจ just heard about this crazy situation in Minneapolis ๐Ÿคฏ an immigration agent shot and killed a woman during a protest...the department says it was self defense but the video is straight up whack ๐Ÿ“น like how can you be threatened and then shoot? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ and now there's talk of "state violence" and some congresswoman wanting to hold ICE accountable ๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ what's going on here? ๐Ÿค”

man what a mess, i'm not surprised though ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ this is exactly why we need more scrutiny on these deportation officers they're basically being given carte blanche to do whatever they want and the system is just so broken, it's like Ross was either in way over his head or he was just looking for an excuse to escalate things... i mean who shoots someone three times because they told them to get out of their car? ๐Ÿš— that's not self-defense, that's just plain reckless. and don't even get me started on the fact that he got away with it initially without anyone questioning his story, that's some serious institutional cover-up right there...

I'm not sure why everyone's making such a big deal about this Jonathan Ross guy... I mean, he was just doing his job, right? ๐Ÿค” He's been injured in the line of duty and has a history of traffic incidents, but that doesn't excuse him from taking another life. However, the way Minneapolis officials are handling the investigation is pretty sketchy - they're saying one thing and the video footage is showing something entirely different... ๐Ÿ“น I mean, what's the truth here? Was Ross acting in self-defense or was he just looking for an excuse to shoot someone? It's not like we have all the facts yet. And can we please not jump to conclusions about ICE and the government's involvement? Let's focus on finding out what really happened instead of blaming everyone else. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

man I'm so worried about Renee Nicole Good's family and the community ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ’” but I gotta see this as an opportunity for change too... like we need more awareness around police accountability and the dangers of vigilantism ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšซ it's crazy that video footage can contradict official statements, it just goes to show how important truth-telling is in our society ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ’ก The Intercept's doing some amazing work by pushing for transparency and holding those in power accountable ๐Ÿ’ช

and I love that Rep. Ilhan Omar is speaking out against state violence and ICE's actions - we need more voices like hers in the mix ๐Ÿ’• it's time for us to come together as a community and demand justice not just for Renee Good, but for all those who've been marginalized and oppressed ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’–
