man this is super messed up what's going on with these unmarked vehicles? like where are they taking ppl? why no transparency? and whats with all the condemnations from local officials but still no answers? seems like they just wanna sweep it under the rug and im not surprised that councilmember Ephros is speaking out tho, this affects us all

I don’t usually comment but... I feel really uneasy about this whole thing . I mean, can you blame anyone for being nervous when they see unmarked vehicles and masked agents showing up? It's like something out of a bad action movie . And Councilmember Ephros witnessing one of these detentions himself must've been super traumatic .

I don't think we should be surprised by this kind of thing happening, though. I mean, ICE has been doing some shady stuff lately, and it's about time someone spoke out against it . But still, can't we just have a more open and honest conversation about immigration instead of resorting to arrests and raids? It feels like the whole system is just perpetuating fear and mistrust.

Anyway, I hope these emergency meetings help calm some nerves and get to the bottom of what's really going on . And I'm all for Governor Hochul's proposal to ban partnerships between local police and ICE - that sounds like a step in the right direction .

just saw that there's a big bust near NYC border & ppl r gettin worried what's goin on? shouldn't we know who's at our borders? councilmember Jake Ephros recorded videos of the arrest, why didn't they release those vids publicly first? seems like good evidence against the feds' actions...

man dis is so messed up . gotta respect these ppl's right 2 know what's goin on in their own neighborhoods. if gov't dont got our backs, who does? we need more transparency & accountability from immigration agencies. can't just swoop in w/ masks & take ppl away without tellin them why . it's like, we got a whole country 2 live in here, not just 1 specific area. need 2 take this nationwide & think about the consequences 4 every single person affected

This is getting outta hand ! Can't believe these unmarked vehicles just swoop in & snatch people off the streets without warning . Councilmember Ephros witnessed it all firsthand , and now everyone's on edge . What's next? Knocking on doors & searching homes without warrants?! Mayor Solomon's got a good point about remaining silent if approached by authorities, but what about those who can't just 'remain silent' like that?!

Need more transparency & accountability from our leaders, especially when it comes to these ICE operations . Maybe we should just establish a clear 'Know Your Rights' guide for everyone . Feds, listen up! We need answers, not more uncertainty .
