The way these protests are being handled is kinda messy
. I mean some people are totally with it and speaking out against ICE's actions, but others...not so much. It feels like there's a lot of division within faith communities about how to respond to this situation. On one hand, you got the clergy who are risking their necks to stand up for what they believe in, which is pretty inspiring
. On the other hand, some people are just staying quiet or even supporting ICE's actions, which can be super confusing.
I think it's time for us to have a more nuanced conversation about this stuff
. We need to acknowledge that everyone's experiences and perspectives are different, but we also can't afford to ignore the fact that ICE's actions are having devastating consequences on immigrant communities. Can we find a way to balance our differences with some semblance of unity and compassion? Maybe that's the only way we'll actually make progress
