ICE upends Dallas Muslim community with detention of local leader

omg u guys this is like so messed up marwan marouf is literally just trying to live his life and provide for his family but nope ice comes in and detains him because of some trumped up allegations it's like they're targeting him specifically cuz he's a muslim american and thats not right at all

i'm so sad for his son too, 15 years old and already having to deal with this stress and worry about his dad's health and freedom i can only imagine how hard it must be for them as a family

and what really gets me is that marwan has been doing so much good in the community all these years just trying to help people out and volunteer his time but does he get any recognition or appreciation? nope he's just targeted because of his faith and where he's from

i'm so angry on behalf of marwan and his family right now we need to stand up for what's right here and demand that ice releases him immediately this is not politics, this is human rights

ICE is at it again... 50 days without seeing their precious Muslim-American detainee . Marwan Marouf's case is just another example of how they're making a mockery of human rights and community trust. It's not like he's breaking any laws or being a bad guy, but nope, they got him anyway . The real heroes here are the thousands of people signing that petition and sending letters to Congress - at least someone is doing something about this . Can't wait for Marwan to get outta there and back to his community, where he belongs

This case is so heartbreaking. ICE detaining a respected community leader like Marwan Marouf is just wrong. He's not some unknown immigrant trying to sneak into the country. He was born in Kuwait, raised in Jordan, and has been living in the US for years, building a life and giving back to his community. His health is also super concerning - Brugada syndrome can be super serious! We need to stand with Marwan's family and community, demanding justice and an end to these unfair policies. Politicizing immigration enforcement like this is just not right

I don’t usually comment but... ICE detaining Marwan Marouf is crazy he’s just trying to live his life after all these years in the US . His health condition is super serious, Brugada syndrome is no joke and yet he’s still being held. The government needs to explain why they’re targeting him like this over a charity 16 yrs ago. It’s just not fair to his family & community who think he's the best thing since sliced bread . The way he’s been treated is totally unacceptable, especially when you consider all the good work he’s done for Dallas Muslims .

man this is like so not right Marwan Marouf sounds like an amazing dude doing tons of good in his community and now he's stuck in a nightmare situation 50 days+ and still no word on when he'll be released... it's just not fair , I mean we're talking about someone with Brugada syndrome who's barely holding on physically and mentally... what are they doing to him?!

and the worst part is that this is just another example of ICE targeting innocent ppl like Marouf because of their faith or community ties it's like, hello, shouldn't we be focusing on building bridges instead of tearing ppl apart?
