I'm all for supporting people who've been through hellish ordeals like this, but at the same time, can't help feeling that our immigration system is pretty messed up

. ICE agents are supposed to be humanitarians, not torture artists

. Three hours in an SUV? That's some serious psychological abuse right there

.
And what's with the conditions at the detention facility? No bed or mattress? How do people even survive that for days on end?

It's a wonder Estrada didn't lose his mind completely, considering all he had to deal with. I'm glad he found solace in therapy and telenovelas, though - those things can be lifesavers

.
But what really gets me is how Estrada was treated by some of the staff, especially the Spanish-speaking ones

. It's like they were just as bad as the ICE agents, maybe worse

. I wish there was more support for immigrant workers and their families during these kinds of situations.
Anyway, it's heartwarming to see Estrada's love for America and his determination to build a new life here

. We should all be rooting for him, but also using this as an opportunity to spark some real change in our immigration system

.
