Invention Challenge Brings Student Engineers to NASA JPL - NASA

Ugh, can you believe those students were able to get it done in like 6 seconds? I mean, I'm not saying they didn't have some decent ideas or whatever, but come on! That bucket brigade thing was gonna be so easy for a team of seasoned engineers like me.

And what's with the rules, though? Like, do they even make sense? "Adhere to a lengthy list of rules"? What does that even mean? Sounds like a bunch of unnecessary nonsense to me.

I'm also kinda surprised those Colorado and Massachusetts schools were invited. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's cool that they're trying to compete with the locals, but I guess you gotta give 'em some props for showing up. And that team of pro engineers? Please, like they even had a chance.

All in all, it's still pretty cool that NASA is doing this event and stuff. I mean, who doesn't love some good old-fashioned friendly competition, right?

btw, has anyone else noticed how quickly Arcadia High School's team won? Like, what was the catch there?

omg what a cool thing nasa is doing for students ! 🤯 i mean who wouldn't want to participate in an invention challenge & show off ur skills ? 🎉 it's awesome that they're giving kids the chance to be creative & work together towards a common goal - team spirit at its finest 😊. and can u believe the winning teams only took 6-7 seconds to fill up a bucket with water ?! 🤯 i'd love to see some videos of the competition 👀

I'm so hyped for these young geniuses! I mean, 2 gallons of water in like 60 seconds? That's some crazy math skills right there. I love that JPL is supporting the next gen of engineers and innovators. It's so cool to see them working together and thinking outside the box (or bucket, lol). The fact that they had a retired engineer leading their team is just amazing - passing on their knowledge and expertise to the next gen. Can't wait to see what these young minds come up with in the future 🤩🌟

I remember when I was in school, we used to have these science fairs where we had to build bridges with popsicle sticks or something... this challenge is kinda like that but way more intense 😂. It's awesome to see these students being given the opportunity to showcase their skills and work together as a team. The bucket brigade contest was such a fun idea, I can imagine it'd be pretty challenging to get that water from 16 feet away in just 60 seconds! 🏃‍♀️ The fact that they're including teams from different states and even pros is great, it's all about promoting innovation and creativity... reminds me of when we used to have these robot wars competitions at our school 🤖.

idk how i feel about this... 🤔 like, on one hand its super cool that students from all over the US can come together and show off their skills, but on the other hand isn't it kinda silly to have a competition where you just gotta move water in a bucket for 60 seconds? lol 😂

and omg, i was watching the live stream of this thing and Arcadia High School's team won like, forever 🙌 but at the same time, their winning strategy was literally just using a pulley system... 🤷‍♀️ doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of it being an "invention challenge" or whatever? 🤔

i mean, on the bright side, 10 teams from CO and MA showed up which is pretty awesome considering how hard it must be to travel all that way for a school thing... 🚂🌄
