Is it a good idea to have a hot toddy when you're sick?

Ugh, who thought having a hot toddy was a good idea for when you're sick? It's like, don't they know it can just make things worse? I mean, slow metabolism = bad news if you're over 65. And what about people with diabetes? Like, don't even get me started 😒. All that sugar from the honey and whisky... no thanks. Just stick to water and chicken noodle soup, duh 🤢. Can we just go back to when grandma used to give us warm tea or broth when we were feeling under the weather? This hot toddy thing is just a bunch of nonsense 💁‍♀️.

Ugh, I'm so over on this hot toddy thing. Like, I get it, it sounds cozy and all that jazz, but trust me, it's not worth the risks. I mean, do we really want to be playing with fire when our bodies are already weakened by an illness? And what about people who take meds like Benadryl or have diabetes? It's just too much of a gamble 🤕. Give me a good ol' fashioned chicken noodle soup any day over that fancy-schmancy toddy. Plus, drinking hot water is way more effective at loosening up mucus than some whiskey and honey combo 😒. Let's just stick to the basics, you know? Rest, hydrate, eat nutritious stuff... your body (and your doctor) will thank you 🙏.

I get why some people might think a hot toddy is the answer to their sniffles, but like, it's not that simple. I mean, my grandma used to always tell me to drink tea or broth when I was sick, and she lived a loooong time. So yeah, hydration is key, but what about all those other ingredients that can actually help? Like, have you ever tried ginger tea with lemon and honey? It's literally the best thing since sliced bread (or in my case, sourdough). And don't even get me started on chicken noodle soup - it's like a warm hug for your insides.
