JetBlue to Launch Daily Nonstop Flights from Philadelphia to Puerto Rico
Starting March 26, JetBlue will begin offering daily nonstop flights between the Philadelphia International Airport and San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. This new route marks an expansion of direct service to five cities in Puerto Rico for the airline, including Philadelphia.
The added route increases the number of nonstop destinations out of San Juan to 22, surpassing any other airline. As part of this growth, JetBlue will also launch direct flights from San Juan to Buffalo, Richmond, Norfolk, and Jacksonville in the spring. These routes are expected to further boost travel between Puerto Rico and the US mainland.
According to Jenniffer González-Colón, Governor of Puerto Rico, "The expansion of these routes opens the door for more travelers from the United States to discover the richness and charm of our Island, while providing Puerto Ricans with more options to visit, reconnect with their loved ones, and contribute to our local economy." The airline's efforts aim to promote economic development and increase visibility for the island.
While JetBlue is not the only carrier offering nonstop flights from Philadelphia to San Juan, it marks a significant growth for the airline in Puerto Rico. Frontier and Spirit already operate direct flights out of Philadelphia International Airport, while American Airlines also offers this route.
JetBlue has introduced limited-time discounted fares to celebrate the launch of these new routes. Philadelphia travelers who book tickets by Friday can secure one-way flights departing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays between April 7 and May 20 for as low as $99. However, it's essential to note that airfare is subject to certain stipulations.
