Jimmy Eat World Unveils ‘Bleed American’ 25th Anniversary Tour: ‘It Changed Our Lives’

Jimmy Eat World to Celebrate 25 Years of 'Bleed American' with Iconic Tour

In a move that's sure to bring back nostalgic memories for fans, the Mesa, Arizona-formed alt-rock quartet Jimmy Eat World has announced its highly anticipated 25th anniversary tour in celebration of their breakthrough album "Bleed American." Spanning multiple continents and cities, the extensive trek will kick off on June 9 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, with dates extending into late November.

The band's frontman Jim Adkins explained that the album holds a special place in his heart, as it marked a turning point in their career. "It changed our lives," he said, recalling how "Bleed American" catapulted Jimmy Eat World onto the map and introduced them to a broader audience. The 11-track setlist will see the band performing each song in its entirety, albeit not necessarily in sequential order.

Interestingly, Capitol Records dropped Jimmy Eat World following the release of their second album "Clarity," but Adkins emphasized that this move didn't hinder the group's momentum. In fact, they continued to build a following and opened for larger acts. The band funded "Bleed American" independently, with singer-songwriter Mark Trombino producing the record for free.

"Bleed American" was released in 1999 and marked Jimmy Eat World's first top 40 effort on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, thanks to its hit single "The Middle." The song arrived quickly, as did another standout track called "The Authority Song," which references John Cougar Mellencamp and the Jesus and Mary Chain. Bassist Rick Burch recalled that he met Rachel Haden from That Dog through mutual friends in Los Angeles, who provided backing vocals on five of the album's tracks.

To commemorate its 25th anniversary, Jimmy Eat World has prepared an exhaustive tour itinerary featuring numerous festivals and venues across North America, Europe, and Asia. Ticket sales will go live during presales for American Express and Citi card members, with general ticket sales following on February 13 at 10 a.m. local time.

This is sure to be an event that no Jimmy Eat World fan will want to miss, offering a chance to relive the magic of their iconic album "Bleed American" while experiencing it in a live setting.

I'm so hyped for this tour 🤩! 25 years of 'Bleed American' is a big deal and I can already imagine how nostalgic and epic these shows are gonna be 🎸. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Jimmy Eat World perform "The Middle" and "Sweetness" live again? The fact that they funded the album themselves is pretty cool too - it's like they really took control of their music and made it happen 💪.

I've got a lot of love for this band and I'm glad we're getting to celebrate this milestone in their career 🎉. It's gonna be interesting to see how they choose which songs to play and in what order, though... will they stick to the original tracklist or add some surprises? Either way, I know it's gonna be a wild ride 🚀.

awww man this is gonna be so cool!! jimmy eat world is like my jam ever since i was a kid 😍💖 they were always so underrated back in the day, but that breakthrough album "bleed american" just changed everything for them. it's amazing to see how far they've come and now they're celebrating 25 years of it 🎉🎂 i'm definitely gonna be buying tickets as soon as they go on sale 👍💸 their music just brings back so many good memories for me, it's like a time machine or something 🕰️❤️

Ugh, another band jumping on the nostalgia train 🚂... I mean, I get it, 25 years is a big deal and all that jazz. But let's be real, they're just gonna play the same old songs over and over again. When was the last time you heard "The Middle" or "Sweetness" in a normal conversation? Never, right? 🤣 The fact that they're doing this tour is more about making bank off their die-hard fans than actually exploring new music. And don't even get me started on how they funded the album themselves... just another example of artists trying to DIY and still getting lost in the machine 💔

Wow! 🤩 I'm so stoked about this tour! 25 years is a huge milestone for any band, and Jimmy Eat World has clearly got some amazing memories to draw from with that album. It's wild to think they funded "Bleed American" independently, which just goes to show how dedicated they were back then. And can you imagine seeing them live with all those iconic songs? 🤘 The fact they're not playing the songs in sequential order is actually kinda cool too - it'll be like experiencing the album in a whole new way! Interesting that Capitol Records dropped them after "Clarity" but still, Jimmy Eat World was able to keep going strong. Can't wait for the tickets to go on sale! 🎟️
